    Fellow reader. Be aware in this novel MC is just a washcloth to be passed around, he never takes a stand on anything and goes with the flow. Which is made worse by the fact that any other character is selfish, greedy, arrogant and abusive. Women are portrayed as absolute worse in this novel. Fully matrialistic and emototional wrecks.

    Currently just reached the latest update on Chinese website at Chapter 2198.

    Just wow at the slow pace this novel is taking.
    Up until this part, just over 16 years have past, since he come from future.

    It doesn't seem like it is going to reach the end soon.

    I've read like 600 mtl chapters, its good, much of the same as it is from the start but it lulls at points for no reason. The biggest issue I have with it is the sex scenes the author decides to throw in, one is about 14-year-olds and the other is a 13-year-old with a 40-year-old man, the second one is quite graphic

    Having caught up to the raws (Ch 2180) at the time of writing, I feel somewhat of a regret. First, the story is stretched way too much, and it gets worse with the fact that this was initially published in 2015, it has been 10 years! With the new chapters being released only every few days or so, and with there being no obvious end of the story in sight, I don't feel optimistic about this novel. At this point, it's either going to be dropped by the author or I'm going to forget about this story while waiting for chapters.

    Second, the novel is a good one, brought down by the fact that most of the chapters really feel like needless bickering for the sake of padding that is done over and over again throughout the story (I kept reading despite these shortcomings, sifting through all the mess). Author doesn't try to reduce the sheer number of useless chapters whatsoever. Maybe the author is getting paid based on word count, idk... Though I might be biased here.

    I feel like my time wasn't well spent with this one. Oh well, it's too late now... oru2x butwhy

    Heck, now that I think about it, I'm mostly annoyed at having no more chapters to read...

    Keep in mind that the core loop of the story is:
    1. Others at first are either mocking or insulting the MC, due to them underestimating him, or just being plain envious.
    2. Then after a while, the situation turns around,
    3. ending with those same people now having shocked Pikachu faces.

    The people, situation, and/or place may change, but the rest will be the same. This unfortunately seems to be quite consistent, and occurs quite often.

    I'm at around 900 1500 rn, figure out for yourself whether you can get used to this cycle or not, because this seems to be here to stay.

    I feel like 40% or so of the content, if not more, is just filled with insults and mockings for the MC. That is 400 chapters out of a 1000. It's crazy. Author has it in so many places that it feels it's there just for padding.

    Another thing to note: The story eventually evolves into MC wanting to conquer every other country or piece of land, at around 2200. So, Age of Colonialism, but China, and with a much bigger scope and severity. And, since the MC has some knowledge of modern firearms and actively tries to improve China's current era's firearm, you can guess the outcome. With this and other stuff in previous chapters, the Nationalism tag is not for joke.

    This is may be yet another thing to consider when deciding whether to bother reading the novel or not, if you find this too displeasing.

    At 490, and my god, the 1st Uncle and Aunt are repulsive beyond all means. They've reached a new height. So much deception and malice. I hope the MC will do something about it and not be complacent in this matter once he comes back. The grandma's not any less disgusting.

        Oh no, they're not mutually exclusive. He does care for the people and helps them whenever possible, he's one of the most caring government offical out there (and there will be many examples of it), it's just that after (or during) all the issues within the nation are settled (corruption, etc), the next thing will be getting his country, China, stronger, conquering other places and what not. Importing wealth from other lands...

        Also, I don't think it's going to be him going out conquering other lands, he's going to stay at home, this will be something that'll go on in the background I believe, that's what it seems like...

        Anyways, colonialism seems far away at the moment, he had only discussed it with someone important in a serious manner.
