    Chapter 323

Su Hao had already developed space teleportation, spatial storage, and spatial barriers to a mature level.

However, space cutting and space positioning were still far from the effects he envisioned.

    Space cutting was technically possible.

But doing so required enormous mental power to forcibly pull apart space using the Spatial Suppression Force Field. In practice, it was far less effective than simply activating the Sharp rune and swinging his blade.

    As for space positioning...

    Su Hao was completely stumped.

What he truly wanted was to establish a universal spatial coordinate system—a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system spanning the universe itself—allowing him to determine his absolute location anywhere.

    Unfortunately...

    He couldn't accomplish it.

    The problem was simple.

There were no fixed reference points.

Even the planet beneath his feet constantly revolved and drifted through space.

This eventually led Su Hao to suspect...

Perhaps even the universe itself was moving.

    ---

    Ten years passed.

    Su Hao turned thirty-five.

Using Super Summoned Beasts, he successfully evolved the God of the Zhu Hua Realm.

    Afterward...

He casually threw the God onto a Secondary Star, leaving it there for a destined Trainer.

    Of course...

That was assuming whoever encountered it could survive.

Su Hao gave it a rather straightforward name—

    God of Pokémon.

Soon afterward, he publicly announced a new goal to Trainers around the world.

Evolve your Little Spirit into the God of Pokémon.

    Very quickly...

That became the ultimate dream of every Trainer.

"I want to become the strongest Trainer!"

"I want to travel across the Secondary Stars with my Little Spirit!"

"I want to evolve my Little Spirit into the God of Pokémon!"

Those words became the slogan of countless young people.

    By now...

Talented Summoners were still highly sought after by major organizations.

    But unlike before...

    They were no longer irreplaceable.

As long as someone possessed dreams...

    Anyone could become a Trainer.

Anyone could own a Little Spirit.

Everyone had a chance to evolve their partner into the God of Pokémon.

    Although...

Not a single person had succeeded so far.

    Instead of discouraging people...

That only made them even more enthusiastic.

Everyone wanted to become the very first Trainer in history to evolve the God of Pokémon.

    ---

    During those ten years...

Creating the controllable God was only a small part of Su Hao's work.

He had also gradually transferred nearly every piece of modern technology into Marble Space.

    Afterward...

He shifted his attention toward geology.

    More specifically...

He began studying the identical space-wave frequency shared between the Main Star and the Secondary Star.

    He had always wondered...

Why did those two planets emit such powerful space waves?

    Deep down...

He knew the answer lay beneath the glaciers of the Northern Wilderness on the Main Star.

So he prepared large amounts of equipment and supplies.

Once spring melted part of the ice...

He descended into the underground world to uncover the truth.

    ---

    Another five years passed.

    Deep beneath the underground magma...

Su Hao finally discovered an extraordinary substance.

It was pitch black like coal...

    Yet incomparably harder.

Its diameter measured roughly three thousand kilometers.

This colossal object was the true source of the Main Star's space waves.

    Su Hao named it—

    Space Stone.

    After tremendous effort...

He managed to chip away a fragment weighing over one hundred kilograms.

    Holding it in his hands...

He couldn't help marveling at its astonishing density.

This discovery immediately sparked another question.

If all sufficiently massive objects emitted space waves...

Then wouldn't the destination of his Spatial Exile technique naturally be toward enormous celestial bodies throughout the universe?

The thought alone sent chills down his spine.

    ---

    The following year...

He found another gigantic Space Stone inside the Secondary Star.

Its emitted space-wave frequency perfectly matched that of the Main Star.

    Fascinated...

Su Hao devoted considerable effort to researching it.

    Unfortunately...

    His gains remained limited.

The only thing he confirmed was that it functioned exceptionally well as a Positioning Stone.

    Sadly...

    It was simply too massive.

He eventually abandoned the idea of using it.

Perhaps similar Space Stones existed throughout countless other worlds.

    Unfortunately...

His current abilities were still insufficient to fully utilize them.

    ---

    That same year...

    His old friend...

    Chen Qingsheng...

    Passed away peacefully at home.

    Before his death...

He called Su Hao one final time.

    "Brother..."

    "My time has finally come..."

    "But..."

    "I have no regrets."

    ---

    Another five years passed.

Chen Chufeng quietly passed away inside his office.

    Until the very last moment...

He was still reviewing the operational reports of Pet Home, dedicating his entire life to the Custodial Bureau.

    ---

    Five years later...

Seventy-year-old Sister Bai stepped down as Chairwoman of the Morning Sun Charity Foundation.

    Together with Xiaotian...

She retired to a nursing home in Yongxin City.

Although she had raised countless children throughout her lifetime...

She herself had never had children.

That remained her only lifelong regret.

    ---

    The following year...

    Husheng returned.

His once-black hair had turned completely white.

After saying goodbye to his wife forever...

He quietly moved into Morning Sun Nursing Home.

He spent his remaining years beside Sister Bai and Xiaotian...

As though returning to the days of the old Morning Sun Courtyard.

    ---

    By now...

Fifty-two-year-old Yashan visited the nursing home every single day after work.

    He cooked.

    Did the laundry.

    Cleaned the rooms.

    Quietly took care of everyone.

Among all the children raised by Morning Sun Courtyard...

Only Bai Shanlan, Bai Xingfeng, and Bai Xingzhi still visited regularly.

Everyone else gradually disappeared from one another's lives.

    ---

    Twelve more years passed.

    At the age of eighty-two...

    Sister Bai peacefully fell asleep...

    Never waking again.

    ---

When Su Hao heard the news...

    He quietly stopped his research.

    Slowly...

    He raised both hands.

The youthful hands once filled with vitality had become wrinkled.

    Age spots had appeared.

Although traces of his former appearance still remained...

Time had left unmistakable marks upon him.

His enormous Blood Qi still filled his body.

    Its explosive strength remained astonishing.

    Yet...

He could clearly sense it weakening little by little.

How much longer could that power remain?

    He murmured softly,

    "So..."

"This is what growing old feels like."

    "No matter what..."

    "It cannot be reversed."

    "My strength..."

"...will eventually disappear alongside this aging body."

    "After death..."

    "It will return to nature."

"It never truly belonged to me."

    Several years earlier...

After realizing old age was unavoidable...

Su Hao had devoted himself to researching lifespan.

    Unfortunately...

His understanding of life itself remained too shallow.

No matter how deeply he investigated...

The mystery of longevity remained beyond reach.

    He had naturally studied telomeres.

    Unfortunately...

The answer wasn't nearly that simple.

If lifespan could truly be extended merely by manipulating telomeres...

He would have achieved immortality long ago.

    Reality proved otherwise.

He discovered that not only living organisms aged...

Even stable physical structures gradually aged.

    ---

    After a long sigh...

    Su Hao stood up.

    Space distorted.

    The next moment...

He arrived at Morning Sun Nursing Home.

Yashan, now white-haired himself, greeted him softly.

    "Boss Wei..."

    "You're here."

    Over the years...

Yashan had completely stopped calling him Jingzhong.

    Only Boss Wei remained.

    It sounded warmer.

    More familiar.

Eighty-year-old Xiaotian quietly sat beside Sister Bai's bed, wiping away tears.

Her once-clear eyes had long since become cloudy.

The beauty of her youth had completely faded.

She looked like nothing more than an ordinary toothless old woman.

Although she had known this day would eventually come...

    Losing Sister Bai...

The person who had accompanied her throughout her life...

Still left an emptiness that couldn't be filled.

    As for Husheng...

He sat silently holding a walking stick.

    His eyes were vacant.

    Whether lost in memories...

Or thinking about nothing at all...

    No one could tell.

    ---

Su Hao remained there for two days.

    Then quietly left once more.

    ---

    One year later...

    Xiaotian...

    And Husheng...

Also completed their journeys through life.

The once lively Morning Sun Courtyard...

    Had finally reached its end.

    ---

    Standing behind Su Hao...

    Yashan spoke softly.

    "Boss Wei..."

    "I've read countless books."

    "I've studied philosophy..."

    "But even now..."

    "I still don't understand..."

    "What exactly is life?"

    "In the end..."

    "Everyone grows old."

    "Everyone falls ill."

    "Everyone dies."

    "And eventually..."

    "Everything becomes nothing."

    "So..."

    "What is the meaning?"

Su Hao merely shook his head.

He himself was approaching the complete cycle of birth...

    Aging...

    Illness...

    And death.

    Yet...

He still couldn't answer Yashan's question.

    ---

    Throughout these years...

Su Hao had integrated everything he had ever learned.

    Blood Qi.

    Runes.

    Genetics.

    Programming.

    Marble Space.

    Spatial technology.

    Everything.

    But now...

Only one question remained in his heart.

    "I will grow old."

    "Then I will die."

"How is that truly different from dying at the age of three?"

    "The only difference..."

"Is that death has merely been postponed from several years... to one hundred years."

"Compared with the age of the universe..."

"One hundred years isn't even a blink of an eye."

    "The powerful body I've built..."

    "Will eventually decay."

    "Everything will return to nature."

    "Did any of these powers..."

    "Ever truly belong to me?"

    "It all..."

    "...returns to the beginning."

    "Everything I've learned..."

    "Everything I've obtained..."

"Only exists to let me survive until the next reincarnation."

    "And then?"

    "After millions..."

    "Or perhaps billions..."

    "Of years..."

    "I awaken once again..."

    "For merely another hundred years..."

    "Only to continue gathering knowledge..."

    "It's too unfair."

    Su Hao slowly inhaled.

    His gaze became incomparably resolute.

"I want to uncover the secret of lifespan."

"I want to control my own time."

"I want to travel freely throughout the universe."

    "I want my soul..."

    "And my will..."

"To transcend the prison of flesh."

    "I want..."

    "True eternity."

"Even if eternity becomes unbearably lonely..."

"I still want my consciousness to experience every passing second."

    "And then..."

"I will gather all knowledge throughout the universe."

His aging eyes gazed into the endless darkness beyond the stars.

    At that moment...

Su Hao's ambition expanded once again.

    Like a microscopic bacterium...

Dreaming of swallowing an entire ocean.

    ---

    Suddenly...

    Yashan knelt before him.

    "Boss Wei..."

    Faced with approaching death...

    People inevitably began thinking more.

They cherished the things they once ignored.

    Only then did they realize...

    Every single second of life...

    Was irreplaceable.

    Silence lingered.

    After a long while...

Su Hao looked at Yashan seriously.

    "Yashan."

    "You've accumulated enough knowledge."

    "From today onward..."

    "You are officially qualified..."

    "...to be my assistant."

"I hope you continue moving forward."

    "Never forget your original aspirations."

    "And remember..."

    "You only have one chance."

    Yashan burst into tears.

This was the acknowledgment he had waited for his entire life.

    Boss Wei...

    Had finally recognized him.

    ---

    As years quietly passed...

Everyone Su Hao had once known...

    Gradually disappeared.

    ---

    More than thirty years later...

Yashan also reached the end of his life.

    He slowly closed his eyes...

Still carrying endless reluctance toward the world.

The consciousness preserved inside Marble Space finally fell silent.

Su Hao silently picked up Yashan's body.

    Teleporting outside the wilderness...

    He waved his hand.

    Flames instantly engulfed the corpse.

    Moments later...

    Nothing remained except drifting ashes.

    Su Hao slowly turned away.

    "I can already feel..."

"My life force is nearly exhausted."

"In at most three more years..."

"I too will fall into silence."

    "Aging..."

    "Truly is humanity's greatest torment."

    "Among all fears..."

    "It is the most terrifying."

    ---

    As he continued walking...

    His consciousness entered Marble Space.

    One by one...

He erased every stored consciousness record.

    Only Yashan's remained.

    It wasn't sentimentality.

It was simply to prevent future complications.

The Little Black Room was indeed powerful...

But Su Hao never relied on luck.

    ---

    Two years later...

    Su Hao passed away.

    He was...

    One hundred years old.

    ---

    Time flowed on.

    Countless years passed.

    Then...

Su Hao slowly opened his eyes once again.

I thought ageing was just due to the organs growing weaker, and dying of old age is just the organs growing too weak to continue maintaining the body? And thus with the ability to passively regenerate, even if it's weak, the organs would passively be maintained at near peak performance for a while longer than most, preventing "ageing" and dying of old age?

Our cells continue to divide in our lifetime until they give up bcoz of expending those telomere that MC said..Actually, by regenerating them, he should be immortal in a sense
But the regeneration that you're saying is basically fast cell division so telomerase will still expend I guess

You maybe 10-15 percent right telomeres are just one factor to aging, other factors include: DNA damage, Mitochondrial dysfunction, Protein misfolding, Epigenetic Shifts, Stem cell exhaustion, Chronic inflammation, and Environmental stress(ES)

-ES: (smoking, UV exposure, pollution, poor diet)

Even if you were able to length the telomere cap you would still have to mitigate these other factors. Not even counting the over all cellular deterioration that will occur over time. Even if you keep your body in optimal state your brain will not. By 120 you’d have Alzheimer’s, dementia, or some other neurological condition.

Furthermore each time our cells divide, portion does it wrong, and is killed. Some slip through and as more errors occur the less cells you have left that can divide properly. Stem cells howere are the base original form but because you only get those form embryos nobodies been able to research them to any new depth (that I know of)
