I can see it. Played or not, does it matter? Shang wants power, the god gave him a mindset that allows power and now it all worked out and he's strong as shit. But the god also f#cked with him and we can't have that now can we? it's the same mindset as how he dealt with abaddon who took away his time in sword lord realm

It might be due to Lucius finally knowing the purpose of the Abomination. Just like how Shang experimented on the Abomination's brain, Lucius might also did this and due to him having intact soul after reaching the realm of God, he might have put a portion of his soul to the highest ranked Abomination or just like Frankenstein, created his own monster with a higher portion of Entropy and a portion of his soul to somehow control all the Abomination and stop it from spawn all over Aterium.

Remember the Abomination Emperor (or King, I don't remember) being easily able to comprehend all the concept of Aterium like a sponge, this might be the mistake Lucius Volstad have made.

The Abomination identified itself as Lucius due to the tweaking done by the Mage God Lucius with the latter's soul attached to the former, making it think like the Mage God, and in turn could have created an Abomination clone of himself.

Now this is where he knew he f#cked up. The now identified Lucius the Abomination God right away brought disgust to his creator, the original Lucius, as he realized how weak the original body actually have been, but became so arrogant to state that he will stop or erase all Abomination from appearing in Aterium, this disgusted him, as the original him is too kind and too Arrogant that the original created something (Abomination God Lucius) that was beyond his original's league.

He felt angry, hateful and distgusted due to him being Entropy, becoming the the very being he hated the most, the eradicator of the world he loved. Now, as the Entropy, all he felt is the inherent disgust towards all Mana, and that includes Aterium and Lucius.

This now all comes back to the God's introduction of himself and the seemingly Mage God who walted into his domain, and their confrontation that ended with the original Lucius' end, resetting the cycle of Abominations in Aterium.

Also, due to the mad God's identity as Lucius' clone, he's conflicted by what he had done in the end, thus wanted to redeem himself and find someone he could groom as the next God to battle with, and hopefully strong enough to fight him and kill him in the end.

This reasoning is perhaps due to his soul's morality.

Now this brings to the time God browsed the outside world, specifically, the world he came from, and pick some potential people to be his original proxy. All this time, God's goal is only redemption.
