I mean there are only so many things that Sunny and Neph could be doing. It just raises the question of what his future version meant in the third nightmare, the whole "im not a saint nor am I supreme" business. So I doubt its going into the pyramid at this moment in time much more likely its to get shadow weave from broken sword

But for what? if you mean go into the fifth nightmare after it doesn't make sense because he can't go into a nightmare without being a carrier of the spell. And the only way to get that is in the pyramid.

His statements can't be relied on since he could use two incarnation one with weaver's mask and other himself to manipulate facts it's like how he talked to himself as master sunless and lord of shadows back at anvil stronghold... he lied about his rank but told facts about him not being alive and not being human

I said it before but it's become pretty clear now, they are going to the pyramid to get the bird to get it to steal asterions true name and fate so that everyone forgets him. Modret confirmed it last chapter when he said "the only way to kill asterion is if everyone forgets his name".

The bird cant steal asterions fate. It was made very clear that the only reason fate was broken was because sunny was someone destined to be strong and relevant, but was still weak (and irrelevant, in the grand scheme of things) enough so its fate was “easy” to be snatched. Asterion is already a long lived world wide known supreme influencing (and thus, fating) the world. His fate cant be stolen. Unless theres some huge plot shenanigans in the making, who knows, but i doubt it. Everything points do Cassie being the key character this arc.

It doesn't matter because regardless of the effect on fate itself, if asterions true name and with that his fate were stolen everyone would still forget him. It's true that it was also said that it was only possible because Sunny wad that much weaker than the bird, but first, strength with ranks increases exponentially and apotheosis is supposed to be the biggest change there is so Asterion is still very weak in comparison to the bird same as Sunny was. Second Sunny has developed the ability to weaken with his shadows so with all seven he could probably get Asterions strength to somewhere around stronger saint. Third, while Asterion is important and his fate implicates humanity he is probably ending at supreme and not fated so I would guess that a less important fate is easier to steal in comparison. Fourth it's possible that the old rules don't apply anymore since fate is already demolished and it's now easier to rip a true name out of someone since it is connected to the cut strings of fate. So the biggest hole in the theory isn't if the bird could steal asterions true name but how to get it to attack Asterion. But one theory I would have is that Sunny would use all of his shadows (which is now all of himself) to weaken and envelop Asterion and since the bird has a vendetta against him it would inadvertently attack asterion and steal his true name while trying to steal weavers lineage out of Sunny.

the problem with that is that they cant. serpent isn't of cursed rank so they wont have anyway to gain the fate stealing ability. not to mention asterion isnt a master like sunny was hes a supreme his will may just halt any fate stealing. its much more likely to hinge off supreme cassie and rain. if cassie erases all of asterions memories hed be trapped in his own body.

soo wrong. u think anybody can get their fate stolen? first of all, Sunny was a master back then, asterion is a supreme. that is why it was afr easier to steal his fate for VTB. secondly, suuny had VTB's spawn inside him. that is why vtb stole his fate alongside his spawn.

And why is everyone so attached to this bird? Asterion should be forgotten, but he doesn't have to be torn out of fate, especially by the hands of a bird. This can be done by the supreme Kes with, for example, a sacred reflection or a couple. The Sacred Sonny can cripple Asterion to such an extent that he himself forgets his name, or simply kill him on the spot. They also killed parts of Kanakht, even though they were immortal. In the end, Oblivion lies next to the bird. Dismantle her grave and make a super-amnesia club out of the rubble. Take her coffin and put this old man in there. Wake her up and treat her to pancakes, asking her to kill Asterion in return. To be honest, I just want to see something new, and using old characters, old locations, and old methods doesn't satisfy my desire at all. (the same applies to the theory of the fifth nightmare on the Forgotten Shore)

I agree, and I wanted to add on to some of the points. Sunny and Mordret would be roughly equal, as both rely on accumulation, and Mortret could be more powerful in the right circumstances as he can rank up his reflections. But once his reflections shatter, they’re done, where Sunny’s are replenishable with few exceptions, as was seen in the harbor where some shades were destroyed. Also, I think Mordret has a limit on reflections equal to or higher than his rank, where Sunny doesn’t have a limit but has to concentrate to control higher ranked shades. For that same reason, if the domains of Nephis or Asterion were to accumulate a large enough following, they could temporarily be stronger than either of the latter two characters, with Asterion being more innately powerful than Nephis as far as domains go as he can literally spread his domain like a plague. Again, only caveat there is that since Nephis’ domain requires developed trust and faith from her subordinates, it is much more stable than Asterion’s even if it can be usurped by Asterion’s direct involvement. It’s fun to think about the different combinations and circumstances, which might also help glean future plot, so thanks for the little exercise you unwittingly provided XD

Some people are criticizing the story and G3, but I think differently. The story is so strange/absurd that you'd have to be a genius to fix it in a decent way.

Previously, G3 surprised readers with fascinating locations and unusual situations that the world threw up. Now that the characters are able to take over entire regions "behind the scenes", it has become more difficult to surprise in the old ways. And what should I do? Make the characters create amazing places and situations on their own. Now the plot itself and the scenarios should become something cool and fascinating. Otherwise, the novel will simply lose some of its atmosphere.
