Those flashbacks about Anvil and Ki Song are really depressing tbh. You realize they were just children in the beginning and honestly I still feel like this way until now. Anvil went mad because of his Flaw and was dead inside since then. Ki Song apparently only ever wanted children and continue from where mother, Ravensong, I believe was her name, started and built her legacy. But she realized how flawed she really was and decided to die by Nephis' hand even though she could escape. She knew her children were in good hands but there was no place for her in this world anymore. Their story are really sad. Warden, Ravensong, Immortal Flame... To me, all these figures deserved a better and happier end. But I suppose reality is cruel like that, and maybe that's why Nephis and Sunny got to where they are now. I gotta say, G3 is a wonderful author.

I think this is the most boring outcome possible.
if sunny stood as a public sovereign, wanting to find a solution (get his fate back) but with a time limit would be more interesting.
If sunny couldn't tell nephys about anything would be more interesting (Maybe Cassie passing out because of the pain or something like that) would be more interesting.
Even this ending with a descent fight instead of nephys just stabbing him would be more interesting.

Honestly, the beginning of the fight was peak, but the fight was very plain and predictable: sunny and nephis would an apparent initial advantage, then, this advantage would be nullified, then they would discover how to became supreme and finally kill the sovereigns.
There's nothing exactly wrong with that but it's too predictable and boring, there should be at least one or two twists in the middle.

But the worst is that the end was wasted, anvil telling sunny that he killed broken sword because of the lineage of the weaver was completely wasted. Instead of creating tension for the next volume, G3 just dropped this bomb and said "haha Cassie, go brrrr" and everything was solved.

Honestly, I'm starting to understanding Cassie haters after that (/s).

I feel like this ending was exactly what nephys felt after they killed the sovereigns "Well, that's a thing that happened, let's move fowards"

They planned perfectly. Sunny isn’t getting dicked by Fated. This canonically went exactly as it was supposed to. People who wanted some Unholy NM to spawn or thinking Mordred being there would do shit or wanted Sunny to risk the Forgotten God coming back are just coping.

Just like I said, it not bad, its boring, everything went according to the plan we already knew, one good element of a story is surprise and that's why a plan that we knew will almost certainly fail.
I also wasn't saying for some unholy monster to invade the fight and everyone almost die, but not feel like: enter the fight, kill the sovereigns, leave.

And my problem wasnt even the fight, was the ending. I was expecting more of it for sure, but saying that sunny is a time bomb and not using it for the cliff hanger was a completely waste

Sunny didnt have any other option, he would have been dumb to gamble with the possibility of awakening the dream god early. If it was the case readers would have complained about why he didnt simply fake his death?

Ngl it just sounds like your only here for plot twists. There's already been enough of those in this volume to last us a life time. If g3 kept stalling the end with dialogue and using Sunny's time wasting abilities. He would have watered down the ending from good to what the hell? As now it's just like he's milking it instead of making an actual good story. There's a lot that comes to story writing especially ones this long and the biggest factor is knowing when to stop building suspense. It would have been 10x more annoying if somehow mordret beat the creature he was facing and somehow got to the battlefield in the same time Kai did when there's no more gate nor can he fly. Not only that he somehow convinced sunny to let him kill anvil. And some reason sunny agreed. Like no that's total nonsense. Plus like this mordret has a reason to continue being the final boss instead of switching sides and supporting them.

i wonder if now that he is a true shadow he is gonna somehow recover the shadow god lineage, have it consume weaver's lineage and then achieve 5°step of shadow dance to keep the effects of those attributes thus becoming a shadow that devoured "fate" or something like that. It's the only way i see him getting rid of his connection with the forgotten god without losing the abilities they give him.

Volume was decent overall. Didn't blow me away, doubt it blew anyone away for that matter, but eh.

I'm a bit curious about how the novel will look from now on. The scale of everything is already wacky as hell and they're just supreme. What kinda bs will they be contending with now, because Sunny and Nephis have habit of hunting being at least one Rank above them..

Imagine the next volume starting with Sunny killing some random Unholy.
