    This concludes the ninth volume of Shadow Slave. I hope you had a wonderful time following Sunny as he navigated the tense and complicated landscape of the Domain War to achieve his goals and reshape the future according to his will.

    This volume has been the longest one yet. Going forward, we will spend some time focusing on more fun and self-contained adventures, so the next few volumes will be on the shorter side.

    As usual, I will take a day off and return with the first chapters of Volume 10 the day after tomorrow.

    Dude long-term the forgotten shore is a horrible colony location, no nightmare beasts so hunting is out of the question. its all good just fish, the sea has dried up. Well fine we'll just farm............. There's no sun!

      1. To mortals no monster is great, that is only bad for the awakened, but you can only awaken before you are 20 or your soul will be destroyed by the Spell. So there is a lot of people (billions) who will always be mortal. and they will NEED a place to go within 10 years at most.
      2. The Tombstone Tree is doing well in the darkness, so in the Dream Realm plants don't need sun if they have the right attribute, there are awakened who can make them.
      3. Before the war Beth said that soon there will be electricity in the Dream Realm so mortal people can live in the forgotten shore.

      The biggest problem that every side of the forgotten shore is a Death Zone (except west because we don't know what is there)

      I don't think he want to make a city for the shadows. It takes him essence to have them out. But I would love to see if he make a Memory Making Factory. He could make Anvil do it 24/7 and other shadows could make the arrows or the swords even if they can't make them memories and one Sunny could just wave them.

        No, g3 said it's better to awaken early, because souls are more adaptable when you're young. The reason spell take late teenager is because they are a compromise between being young enough and able to survive a nightmare. You can find the author answer on the discord.

        And to proves it: Mordret awakened at 12, Ling Ling awakened a few months after his birth. On the other side, it was show old peoples can't survive a nightmare even if they success it.

        About plants, the devourer tree was a nightmare creature one who eat souls, that's probably how he survived without sun, you can't fed a population with that. If Sunny only want a place to make weapons the inside of the mimic should be big enough now.

        In my opinion Sunny will make the shore a colony after killing the darkness creature who hide the sun. Otherwise the situation would not be different from the first inhabitants of this place.

        The absence of monsters, seeds and citadels is not good in the long run. A city need to produce strong peoples because one day or another something dangerous will come.

          I said that BEFORE 20, not after 20, so we are saying the same thing.

          I said Tombstone tree, not devourer tree it is not the same. The Tombstone tree is the mortal tree which has three x, two for his parents and one is for himself. The tree is in the Nameless Temple in the Divine Shadow, so it is in darkness all the time. It was there for years now and it is alive, one of the Fire Keepers helped it, but it was able to survive without that too.

          I don't said that he need the forgotten shore to make memories I said it would be cool if he make a Memory Making Factory and it would usefull for humanity if he would mass product memories.

          Killing the darkness creature is a good idea, I think you are right, but I'm not sure that the sun will came back from that.

          The absence of monsters is really bad for a long run, that is true, but where do you put billions of people, they don't have the luxury to leave a big place like that without use.

            This tree didn't grow without light, iirc Sunny gave it a light memory, since it was not enough one fire keeper used her ability. As for age it's possible to awaken after 20s see Effie's husband, and others soldiers in anatartica. For memory crafting the inside of the mimic should be large enough, if he need a real place dark city is not a good choice to install: no ressources. He's better to install in a dead zone than there.

            I also think dark city is good for mundane population.

        Nephis was already able to heal peoples who has a link with her when she was a transcendant, and it's just using her dormant ability remotely, her supreme ability can't be just that.

        For Sunny, it's possible his supreme ability is that. But it's just making the shadow obedient to him, making them tangible should be possible with his ascended ability, so i m not sure of this one.
