It kinda does because that means spell didn't recreate his image and he was still there after the end of the world (war of daemons and gods)

I just fail to see any appeal in LoTR. In what aspects is it good? It's fantasy world? It's fiction plot? It's moral lessons? Or simple the characters' performance?

Okay pls indulge me a bit more.
I haven't read it but I decided to watch the movies. Just two months back. Watched The Hobbit trilogy. Then the first and second movie. By the mid of second movie, i had to force myself to complete it.
There's a dragon, a f#cking dragon, but it does nothing for a better part of the screen time provided to it and then dies in such an anticlimactic way, and it had no special qualities to speak of except for the typical scales and fiery breath. There are elves, but more than anything, they are just good archers. Nothing notable to them. Not even magic wise except they possess some cool trinkets from the past. Hobbits are supposed to be master scouts and thieves according to Gandalf, but Bilbo, or even the other hobbits don't exhibit any unique traits. Gandalf is a very old wizard, supposedly centuries old. But all I've seen him do so far is used his staff as a torch in darkness and split a huge rock with his staff. Nothing notable for an ancient mage either. Then there are Orcs. Nothing more than deformed humanoid with enhanced strength. The feared Azog the defiler, nothing more than a little extra strength compared to normal orcs. Then there's Sauron himself. Apparently he sees all, and....idk. He seems to be a little more powerful than the grey and white wizard but i fail to see what makes him stand out as an evil entity compared to other evil entities in other works. The world itself just seemed very tame and lackluster to me. I decided to give it a try because I love fantasy fiction. But there isn't much of it here. The only intersting thing I came across was a Balrog.

You give me an impression of action enjoyer; if that indeed the case you’ll wither reading LoTR. As far as you think movies are slow books are slower. You might spend hours reading about 5 min movie sequence. I personally like it, makes me stay in that atmosphere longer. Stuff that you feel pointless, illogical and more in movies, all be explained as well.
