You mean not yet. But it will probably happen soon.
She will probably push him to hell once more.
Just think about how Cassie asked Sunny "What he wants to do when he returns from Antarctica".
She seem to have subtly given him some motivation for when something happens...
And her targets during their vacation were also really strange...

So he thinks eliminating half the saints on the field is going to... save the continent? Sure it's better than all of them dying but... only barely. We only had two saints in central and it experienced armageddon anyways.

And yet, here he was, planning to fight side by side with her under the banner of the great clan Valor, helping them in their sinful war against the great clan Song.

    Entirely of his own accord.

Sunny reached with one hand and touched his neck, as if checking to see if there was a slave collar on it.

    'What is this bitter feeling?'

A hollow laugh escaped from his lips.

After a few moments, Sunny shook his head and continued on his way.

    'It doesn't matter, anyway.'

Sure, he felt bitterly reluctant to prove Neph right. But wouldn't it be pathetically childish, to throw a tantrum and change his decision just because his pride was hurt?

Since when did he have pride, anyway?

He used to say that he would prove Neph wrong, which is why he went solo to Antarctica... and we saw Sunny's character development in the Antarctica arc, and I liked it. But every time Sunny meets Neph, he becomes childish, like he's simping for her, acting like a spoiled kid seeking his mother's attention. He desperately wants Neph to acknowledge that Sunny is equal to her(And I know why, because Neph taught him the way of combat/murder, so that's why he wants her to acknowledge him) but still find it annoying. And the thing I dislike the most is that Sunny constantly complains about not wanting to be a slave, etc. But look at this sentence: 'After a few moments, Sunny shook his head and continued on his way. "It doesn't matter, anyway."'

He has no self-assertion at all... How is Neph going to acknowledge you if you act like this?

    p/s: just imo though✊🏻

How he said he just want to make the normal people survive in Antartida, if this is not character development i dont know what it is. He is finally doing something just because he want to do it, despite of he hates Fate the most. He has priorities, it could be the conviction that they was talking about, trying to do something just because that’s what he wants to do

It really doesnt matter to him right now because even if he knew what could he possibly do against something so unchangable as fate currently. He has no power over it as of now he takes priority of the refugees.

Well what can we say he is going to do it regardless dislike it all you want but sunny is just bark not bite in front of nephis and cassie no matter how much he tries to say otherwise he'll forgive and go back to them to demand their attention

Not a single time we have seen them take a step towards him it's always Sunny in name he isn't part of fire keepers but anything that actually matter comes their way he is there standing at front

You know it's after reading this chap that I realized Sunny is kind of a simp.
When Nephis spoke about her failure a few chaps back, the first thing she mentioned was that she couldn't keep him at her side. Which kinds of show her feelings for him, true. But you would also realise that despite how she feels, Nephis has never gone out of her way to find Sunny herself, atleast I don't remember her ever doing that. Instead, it's always Sunny running back to her with one excuse or the other.
Am not dissuading the facts his excuse here is to safe civilian lives, but still...
I find their romance unnatural to be honest.

I posted comments like this before

Yes their strings of fate makes it impossible for them to just not see each other but nature of their relationship is decided by him if he chooses not to like her, instead see draw boundaries as comrade or strictly freind or some sort of buisness relationship
He doesn't have to simp for her lower himself and complicate things

Like i have said around nephis sunny looses half of his IQ

Never liked romance in novels hoped this would be diffrent but here we are boy simping girl complicating things unnecessary and unhealthy relationship

I think people are way too invested in what they want the author to do for them rather than make a generally good story and characters with growth and personality. Regardless what you feel, Sunny just experienced character growth and I think this makes the story better. If you think it's dumb because you think Sunny should be an edglord who is by himself then fine. If Sunny didn't pick a side in this conflict than he would lose all the connections he made with Neph and Cassie and the Fire Keepers. Whether that be them growing more powerful than him or him cutting off all ties. That would not make for an interesting story.

Whatever it is, i just don't want sunny to be a slave, but here he is already one. Call me childish or dumb but i self insert too much and think like that, but hey, all that doesn't matter author has a story and it won't change if we complain or not. And it's a great story just some frustrated parts(I'm just yaping at this point hokage

But in the end he is still neither fully part of nephis and cassie nor he is steered clear of them

What's the point of feeling bitter might as well fully become part of them pointless tantrums
