    I feel like the soldier fell asleep and a monster came out. So maybe a monster they are incapable of sensing or seeing spawned? Cause if you take Neph’s case into consideration we see that not all nightmares are about normal monsters so it could be a shapeshifter or sumn. I might just be yapping as usual tho gloom
