but the rate at which his soul restored it was only twice as fast.

What? Why? This is the first I hear of it and it does about 0 sense.

How does that not make sense ?

Well, at this moment he has 4 cores, right? Each core makes essence, and stores it. The storage capacity is 4 times the usual, which reflects the number of cores, but the regeneration speed is just twice as fast, which implies that each Shadow Core regenerate power at half the speed of the usual Soul Core.

There wasn't any mentions, hints or foreshadowing for it. It came out of nowhere for no reason. It doesn't make sense.

You’re reading comp could use some work, he said he has four times as much as essence as a normal person and double the rate it regenerates…so he has two times the average of regen per core

Sunny's essence capacity was roughly four times as vast as that of almost any other Master, but the rate at which his soul restored it was only twice as fast.

No? If we take both storage and regenerqtion as arbitrary 1, then average person storqge-regenreation would be 1-1, but sunny says that his is 4-2. He has 4 cores, so it's 4×(1-1), which should be 4-4. If it's 4-2, than it's 4×(1-0,5). If each of his cores regenerated twice as much, it would be 4×(1-2)=4-8.

He says that his regeneration speed is twice as fast of that of a person with 1 core.

You are completely wrong, he has 4 times the storage of an average person, and then he has twice the regeneration. There is no correlation between getting a new core and how fast he regenerates

If there were no correlation he would just have normal regeneration, not doubled. Which is why I'm telling you it doesn't make any sense. I am right here.

My impression is that G3 had simply not thought about it. He just threw some random sentence with some purely narrative, not worldbuilding role, and forgot about it. It probably was just a blip he forgot 5 minutes after. Because it doesn't make sense, and g3 is the best worldbuilder I have ever seen. Or, at least, my favourite.

Nah, he could’ve gotten regen from several other things than cores

And none of them was mentioned before. Even then:

If he got something like this, it would have been at least mentioned before. There isn't. This is my gripe. Something as fundamental as this, and we literally have zero information on it. It's never even elaborated on as of latest chapters.

This information came out of nowhere, for no reason, and never led anywhere. Which is why it doesn't make any sense.

I have zero clue why are you trying to defend it this hard. I literally like this novel more than lotm, and even I don't feel the need to protect something so inconsequential. Law of imperfection applies irl too. I'm only arguing with you because I'm very prideful person.

He has had double the regeneration rate since he was a sleeper.. The only change now is that with each core he gets more storage. You don't seem to understand this

It’s just how it is. That’s it. He regenerates essence at only twice the speed.

In fact, Antarctica should not have steep mountains and harsh terrain. Glaciers a couple of kilometers thick have ironed this land for millions of years, grinding these mountains into rubble.

Actually, when I researched a little when they were moving to Antarctica, it seems that there are indeed many montains...

"As the map shows, the naked land beneath the Antarctic ice sheet is a rugged land, covered in mountain ranges, gorges, and jagged terrain. Remarkably, one part of the bed found under the Byrd Glacier in Victoria Land is 2,870 meters (9,416 feet) below sea level, making it the lowest point on any of the Earth's continental plates."
