Так странно. Её аспект даёт способности как и название её клана? Это очень странно... разве это не рандомный навык?

By the way, for anyone that has just started reading, I recommend reading chapters 122-168 and then reading chapters 96-122. This is mainly because there's a big timeskip and it gets boring if you read it in the order it was published. :))

He glanced at Cassie and bit his lip, trying once again to suppress the answer that was fighting its way out. Something sharp and hot was stabbing at his heart, making his vision blurry.

Just answer her. She's not a kid... don't make things worse by holding it in.

Nah, it'd have been a lot worse if he said smth like "Oh, she's just on death's door". Are you dumb?

I literally created an account because your comment annoyed me so much. First of all Cassie is implied to be around 16 (it's not directly stated, but you can infer it) so she is in fact a kid.
Secondly, regardless of whether or not she is a child, learning this news in a moment like this is definitely not ideal - adults have emotions too.
Also sunny himself didn't want to say it because he feared that, given his attributes and flaws, his speaking of what appeared to be true would set it in stone. I hate to be rude, but when you read, does your brain go skydiving?

Alright, fair point on Cassie’s age, it’s true it’s implied rather than directly stated, and I get that 16 is still young. But let’s not pretend readers can’t have different interpretations. As for the moment itself, sure, emotions are valid for anyone, kid or adult. But part of storytelling is how characters handle intense truths. Sunny hesitating makes sense, but it doesn’t make the reaction above criticism. That said, no need to throw shade, we’re all here to discuss the story, not question each other’s reading comprehension.

I'm sorry about the insults - they were uncalled for. That being said, I still think you may be missing something - you are right that ideally he would tell Cassie and relieve the pain to increase their survival chances, but you also need to look at the context and think If that's a plausible thing for the character to do.

that was one hell of a volume, this is testament to why you shouldn't give up on something just because you feel that it's getting boring.

That was an AMAZING first volume. No filter, so much tension and amazing storytelling. Especially the tree section at the end.

Her abb is prob sacred rank, i don't think there's 2 divine rank members in the same generation when the chances of having 1 is alr considered a myth

    Goated volume 1,

And why are there some ppl bitching abt the fact that the mc became "a softy"

Tf do you want him to do? Lett his comrades die? While they were literally the reason he's still alive and will proceed to live?
You know they spend like 2 months 24/7 together and lucky enough to survive? You think that doesn't build up a strong solidarity or sum?

Exactly, I don't understand how the complaints make sense. It's like people who served in the army infantry. When you're put into life and death situations, hunting, killing, relying and looking out for each other while barely surviving you grow a special comradeship bond. Of course an orphan can change/develop after their first real deployment and their first formed group where they finally have somewhere to belong with after so many dangerous and stressful situations.

As I said earlier the author doesn’t emphasize the important points of their relationship and shows a lot of downsides of these girls. That’s why in the process of reading you get disgusted by them and just wanna slap the bitches silly. But once you take a break and gather all your thoughts, it’s only at that point that you start seeing the whole picture.
So everybody’s hateful attitude towards the girls is 100% authors fault. Instead of writing every single chapter how Sunny is scared of everything around him and mention his idiotic inner thoughts, the author could’ve emphasized the facts that happened and how everybody contributed to the cause!

i mean i can kinda understand why people would hate Cassie but not Neph, the only thing i can think of is how she made them fight the demon under the tree but if it wasn't for her he would have died trying to fight the scavengers and Cassie also helped she pointed out the direction of where the city was and helped the mc break free from the tree and it's also not like she doesn't want to help but her flaw makes it hard

I do agree that they're often referred to as useless or a liability, but this is because author uses Sunny's mental state and view of the world to show us the world of the book. If anything, this impression being given off is good writing, because Sunny does automatically think of others as liabilities, only trusting himself. Where it goes wrong is readers taking these thoughts at face value and disliking the characters based off it. After a week or two Sunny doesn't truly think of them as liabilities, simply referring to them as such by default and making false claims based on that default assumption.
