      How is he a dumbass? Cause he fell into a trance he has almost no way of coming out off? He has no way of recognizing that hes in a trance cause the effing tree would erase it from his memory and just influence him to forget about it and makes him think that it's not important. It's not like he has some OP Mind Control Defence or something.
