      Maybe this was not really a mind attack? The source seemed to be the fog, it could be ghostly whispers or something like that. It's not necessarily directly affecting the mind, but rather trying to mislead and playing mind games.

    I mean I'm obviously describing it with facts presented here but if you take some artistic license and add some details it could be pretty good, like this:

    [Medusa is a dense fog that damages any living being that looks at it through anomalous and unknown means. Cameras simply capture fog, while live video feeds from remote cameras to the SCP Foundation are cut off through some sort of interference. Currently, it is unknown if Medusa has a physical form or if the gas is its true form. Conversing with Medusa will either kill the subject, or the subject may gain Medusa's favor, and attack the subject's specified enemies. Medusa seems to be able to create auditory hallucinations specifically targeting any living being within the fog, but Medusa cannot locate or attack unless the target has reached out to Medusa through seeing the fog or through talking to it.]
