After his qi center is destroyed, a martial arts instructor of the Blood Demon Cult is assigned to learn and research the martial arts of four captured murim masters. However, when the Cult betrays him and decides to kill him, he fights back and everyone in the Cult dies, including himself.

He then mysteriously wakes up in the body of Baek Suryong, a young martial arts instructor in the rural countryside with a disease that will kill him within three years. He realizes that the martial arts he had learned holds the key to healing his new body’s illness, but in order to do that, he needed money. A LOT of money.

    All right, many of us have read the cliche "died and returned" much less Korean murim... and they are mostly bad. However, this novel is magnificent.

    It has a main character who is quite relatable. Smart, but not a schemer. Good power, but not a bully or a person getting into fights with random young masters. A decent, balanced person. There is humor, interesting side characters, and lazy periods in which the setting and character interactions are fleshed out. The martial arts is interesting - body refining, internal qi, and technique levels. There is an enemy that threatens the peace, a conspiracy of bad guys, and MC destiny. There is no harem, no love interests, plenty of action and bits of intrigue.

    It's flaw is that I don't understand Korean murim power levels very well and it could be better explained.

    The novel intro is what it is.... guy reborn, recalls his past life as a demon cult instructor, goes to an academy as a teacher. Has to fix his own broken body, achieve his goals of success, and try to become a great teacher rather than a great instructor. Finish what he started in his last life. A simple plot, and a well told story. I heartily recommend it. About a 4.5 of 5 out, 280 pages in.

        Sorry, I don't read manhwa or watch anime, so I've no idea. As for the mtl translation, it was adequate. No where near the quality of the translation found on this site of course, but it's readable.

    This novel is great. It's so good I read the MTL. HAHAHHAHAHA...it's also very hilarious. My favorite arcs so far are the Midterm Exam arc and Final Exam arc. Usually these exams portion of these novels are boring but my stomach hurts from laughing too much. The disciples are just precious treassure, including a cute baby white tiger. The character development of Baek Suryong is amazing too. One of the best murim novels I read the last years.
