The solo adventure might be actually good for him, not for them. Even tho he definitely should have warned them!

I agree that some things are unrealistic (like quivver size the guy said below), but so far no big loopholes in novel.

it was Jake's fault, no obviously not, that is, he himself warned them and they did not pay attention, they overlooked it knowing what kind of place they are in, and they suffered because of that and also without Jake in the battle they would have had many more casualties because apparently that giant wild boar would have destroyed them.

People that commented that Mc is a prick for not telling his teammates anything before attacking are dumb asf. They are in the wilderness and shouting out loud that something is preparing to attack will give the enemy or the beast the initiative to attack because everyone will be trying to see from.which direction they are being attacked. What Mc did made way more sense by attacking first which not only gave them the upper hand in the fight but also gave them the location of where the attacker is and even gave almost all of them enough time to run away to take cover. Because of Mc decision they were able to get off with minimum casualties.

More importantly they were the careless ones that knew a beast or an attacker was nearby waiting to prey on them but they just skipped over it like it wasn't their business to begin with.

Most says that it was MC mistake, but I'm not really sure.
What if it was an enemy hiding in bushes? Alarming his team would trigger attack, and MC will be first to suffer. But when he shooted first he at least took initiative.
Casualty is just an accident. I think there were no 'right' way to react.

Yeah...this was an asshole move from the MC. Telling his teammates before firing the shot would have been enough. Even if they didn’t agree and you still shot, they would have still been prepared. I’m guessing his greed for points got to him. Tbh this is the first novel where the MC is the one making dick moves in the beginning. Most LitRPG and Apocalypse novels almost always have a weirdo character that goes insane in their power trip or a leader character type that tries to use everyone else for his own gain.

I would've done the same too. Knowing something behind that bush watching. It could be anything but friendly.
