Nüwa smiled and asked, “Han Jue, do you think Sages are child’s play?”

Nuwa: "Do you think it's so easy to become a sage?"
MC: "Yes..." *gauges her reaction* "Wait, no! Definitely not. It's very hard."
    Nuwa: *looks him deeply*

      I’ll just answer in English.

The Heavenly Dao of the Dao Ancestor protects the Immortal World and the countless mortal worlds beneath them by locking out the Sages and stop them from treating them like resources or livestock, like what’s happening to Su Qi. Nuwa was the successor, until she was hunted and “killed”. Someone else has to take it to keep the Sages out.

Someone that cares about life and wants to avoid conflict. Someone that the Sages can’t find and kill. Someone so invisible and above caring for wealth-fame-attention, that none of the Sages would ever suspect it.

      …sounds familiar?

      Die early?

She is a sage, even with dying at Heavenly Sage, she was probably several million if not billion years old.

With Han Jue's talent I can't tell how old people should be at respective realms.

“Forget it. If you want to become a Sage, you have to reach the Pseudo-Sage realm first. You still need Primordial Purple Qi. The Heavenly Dao has nine Primordial Purple Qi. My Primordial Purple Qi is left somewhere. The Heavenly Dao Sages are probably still looking for it. When the time is ripe, I will hand it to you.”

Wasn't this exact same premise in another novel? I'm pretty sure this premise is in the novel, "I Have Countless Legendary Swords!" I'm talking about the Primordial Purple Qi

I just checked and it's the same author. I didn't realize that they were the same author lol so I thought Ren Wo Xiao was stealing from another author but turns out it's his idea so it's all good.

Purple Primordial Qi originates from some forms of Taoism I think since there are multiple other taoism based cultivation systems that mention it

Oh really? Like with the whole concept that to become a heavenly dao sage, you need primordial purple qi, and the sages will die after a war, or just with the primordial purple qi?

Dunno about the Sages but Purple Qi and variations of it is generally considered an auspicious omen or an auspicious opportunity

I'm going to take my theoretical side to the next level and make a theory of why the wise are in the Dao calamity. the sages when they became sages did not know or knew that they would be dealing with the will of another being.

    the ancestral Dao.

they planned this calamity eons ago and waited for the ancestral Dao to merge with the heavenly Dao.

some of them hate each other but they have a common goal.

    become a free sage.

because deep down even knowing that they are the elites of the celestial Dao, even knowing that almost all beings would kill to be in their place. deep in their hearts they know that they are nothing more than servants of the heavenly Dao. and that must hurt in their pride forged by the fact that they are wise.

I'm warning you that this is not a spoiler since I don't read mtl.
