    I don't quite understand what the author is trying to establish here. In the 1st few chapters, he depicted Khan as indifferent to people not related to him. Heck, he even indirectly killed people in the slums by not warning them about the tainted rat in the mines and he doesn't' even feel a thing about it. But now? He feels guilty for his 1st direct kill of an alien that tried to attack them? WTF! Killing indirectly is OK but not when he do it with his own hands? Much worse to an alien enemy? Lol

      It makes sense. Letting someone die is sad, but you'd be able to recover pretty quickly, while killing someone yourself would affect you in a completely different way. Add on to that fact that he killed their daughter, and has to tell them that, it makes everything completely different.

          I swear everyone expects mc to be a killing machine when he never has killed someone before. He is 17 and while he has seen bodies and left people die, he never killed someone. It is realistic he acts this way.

        I can understand the MC feeling bad both about it being his first kill and the kred being a daughter, but it looked like the MC was about to have a mental breakdown. That’s what annoys me to an extent.
