A Journey of Black and Red by Mecanimus

Best shit I have read in a while

I have no clue how this gem has such a low rating. And based on the amount of dislikes on the comments of people who praise the novel they’re probably trolls or something… so I’ll just list some pros and cons of this novel.

Pros:

1. Well portrayed female mc with a great deal of character development.

2. The world building is top notch. It is set in the U.S. during the 1800s with plenty of historical events that have a bit of mysticism and mythology mixed in beneath the surface that combines to create a unique and magical reimagination of the world as we know it.

3. The writing quality is top notch as well. The writer is English speaking and literate, so it’s a whole new realm above the broken English Chinese novels that dominate the platform.

4. Vampires.

5. Dark fantasy. You’re in for a real treat if you like your fantasy novels where the mc paves their road out of the flesh, blood, and misery of both their enemies and themselves… especially themselves….. The FMC is a vampire; vampires will only die if their heart is pierced with silver, so as long as it isn’t silver piercing them they won’t die. Even if a vampire’s head explodes it’ll eventually recover. Even if a vampire’s entire body is impaled by iron spikes it’ll eventually recover. Even if a vampire’s mind is shattered it’ll eventually recover…

Cons:

1. The main character is a straight woman.

2. The suppression and disdain towards women by the men of this time period is very accurately represented, so any misogynist readers like myself will have their feelings hurt every time the author points out how idiotic our beliefs are

3. It’s not for the faint of heart, nor for the morally inclined. Vampires are cruel and arrogant creatures, so even though the mc isn’t actively evil, she is also a vampire in the truest sense.

At first I liked it, I've been looking for something interesting for a long time, and finally found it, like a breath of fresh air! especially a woman, they don't know how to write at all, but I read it. Unfortunately, I'm tired of reading on chapter 30, these eternal little showdowns are not interesting, although it's interesting to read how I satisfied myself, I haven't seen this yet.

The chapters are long, the main thing is that the author is well-read and knowledgeable, unfortunately not at all mature, constant nervous breakdowns, not the possibility of accepting reality, why does she look at her masters with a wild face? what does she expect? I would have smashed this mutt's whole face, so that she wouldn't yap

After a century of gunpowder, reading our modern, and for a vampire it will all pass quickly, it will not be very interesting

Excellent book. If you love vampire stories this is definitely for you. I read all the available chapters in a couple of days and 30+ chapters on patreon.

In terms of quality this as the best novel on this site by a long shot. They sad thing is that readers here don't have refined tastes
