Chapter 894: No Way Forward

"So, this world must have an Overseer, but they're not doing anything about it," Swamp Dragon said, his eyes narrowing.

"Yes," Manny confirmed before looking at Kyle. "As small as the chance might be, I believe you were right in your suspicion. It might be possible that the Overseer is a Divine Beast that somehow managed to fool the world into believing that it's a human."

"But then, why are there still humans?" Kyle asked. "Nobody can resist an Overseer's power. Even more, they can sense the entire world. If the Overseer wanted to get rid of humans, they could just kill all of them."

"They could," yes, Manny said. "Sadly, I don't have an answer. I only know that they must have a reason for keeping humans around. Either way, I think we should trust Humanity for now. They know why their world is broken. Additionally, we might have a shot at fixing this issue. Sebastian is unique. He can interact with the Elemental Dimension by using his Elemental. It's just that we don't know how the Overseer will react. One random Lightning Elemental is not a big deal, but if the Elemental Dimension starts to recover, they might wipe it out again, including Sebastian's Elemental."

Kyle looked at Sebastian, who seemed a bit uncomfortable. "If his Elemental died, he would also die."

"I agree," Star Genesis said. "This world is broken, and it's in everyone's best interest to fix it. If we have a way to repair the world, I don't think Humanity would stop us."

Swamp Dragon and Fierce Breaker nodded as well.

"Then, we're in agreement," Kyle said before looking at Sebastian. "Seems like we're going to be relying on you."

"Not the biggest fan of being the target of the Overseer, but sure, I'll do my best," Sebastian said with a sigh.

Star Genesis turned to the Spirit Lord, who was waiting patiently. "There are no Law Wells in this world because of the empty Elemental Dimension, and the Overseer isn't doing anything about it, correct?"

"You've come to the same conclusion past groups have come to," the Spirit Lord answered. "We can't look into the Elemental Dimension, which is why we couldn't confirm their words. Since you came to the same conclusion, this means that your predecessors have most likely spoken the truth."

"However, just like your predecessors, you have also made a wrong assumption. We do have Law Wells."

A glint appeared in Manny's eyes. "But they're in the Abyss, correct?"

The Spirit Lord nodded wordlessly.

"That means the Elemental Dimension isn't completely broken!" Kyle thought, hope appearing in his heart.

"Not sure if that is better or worse," Manny mused. "Our part of the Elemental Dimension in the Abyss works fine. On the one hand, this means that we can still comprehend Laws. On the other hand, the meaning that the Overseer is watching the Elemental Dimension closely. If it's just empty, they can just ignore it, but keeping it in this state requires attention."

Sebastian became more nervous, but there wasn't really anything he could do. He just had to deal with it.

"Is there a way to access the Law Wells in the Abyss?" Kyle asked.

"Yes, but only the weaker ones," the Spirit Lord answered. "The Law Wells for Level Six Laws are guarded by Ascendant Divine Demons."

"That's bad," Kyle thought. "I will probably already look at Level Five Laws as a Sage, which means I will probably look at Level Six Laws as a Spirit Lord. How am I supposed to overcome Ascendant Divine Beasts as a Spirit Lord?"

"What about the Primordial Force Laws," Star Genesis asked, "they can also be used to become Immortal."

"We've tried many times," the Spirit Lord said. "It's not possible."

"Why not?" Manny asked.

"They're incomplete," the Spirit Lord explained. "We can sense Spatial Tearing, Compression, Expansion, Stasis, Wave, Manifestation, Connection, and Destruction, but nobody has ever managed to sense Spatial Creation. The same thing is true for Temporal Reversal and Gravitational Fusion. Without these Fragments, we do not have enough Fragments to fulfill the requirements to become a Major Ascendant, and even if that weren't the case, we would fall the Fusion since the Laws are incomplete."

"Incomplete," Manny commented as he scratched his chin. "This is not an ability an Overseer has. There must be another explanation."

"We wish we knew," the Spirit Lord answered, "and we hope you can help us. As much as it pains me to say it, Ayuvar isn't strong enough to repair the world. We can barely resist the Demons!"

"Is it that bad?" Swamp Dragon asked.

"It is that bad," the Spirit Lord answered. "We barely have any Ascendants, and they are always fighting on the frontlines. Whenever we gain a new Ascendant, an additional Ascendant Demon comes out of the Abyss. If we kill that one, a new one appears. If that one dies as well, another one appears. They only vanish when one of our Ascendants dies."

The implications of this fact made the group worry. It was clear what this meant.

"The Overseer is toying with Humanity," Kyle thought. "If we grow too powerful, the Overseer will just send more Divine Beasts. Each battle most likely counts as a True Battle, and even if there's only a 10% chance that you die, if you roll the dice often enough, you will die to these 10%."

The dire state of this world became clearer.

No access to Level Six Law Wells.

An unending horde of Divine Beasts that forces Humanity to take shortcuts and ruin their foundation with corrupted Refined Laws.

A broken Elemental Dimension.

An enemy Overseer.

Incomplete Primordial Force Laws.

All avenues were cut off.

But then, Kyle remembered something the Lord had said and looked at Manny. For some reason, Manny seemed to know an awful lot of things about literally everything. Kyle wasn't sure why he knew so much, but that also wasn't important for now. What was important was that his knowledge might help them find a way to fix this world.

"Manny, I remember hearing something about someone comprehending the perfect Imposing Law and becoming an Immortal in that way," Kyle said. "Is that possible?"

"Not in this world," Manny said. "There has only been a single person who has managed to condense a perfect Imposing Law in the Ascendant Realm, and they have been in an Experimental World. The requirements to advance were different, and despite not fulfilling any of the requirements, their level of existence still rivaled that of a Fulfilled Ascendant."

"Countless Fulfilled Ascendants have tried, but they were the only one who succeeded."

"With your talent, you might have a shot at condensing one as a Fulfilled Ascendant, but if you could become a Fulfilled Ascendant here, we wouldn't be in this situation."

Kyle sighed. "There goes that idea."

"Do we agree to help?" Fierce Breaker asked the others.

"Of course," Manny answered. "We can't do this by ourselves. We probably can't even do it with Humanity's support."

Star Genesis nodded. "We should agree."

"Yep," Kyle transmitted.

In the end, Star Genesis looked at the Spirit Lord. "We agree to help you."

"What's the plan?

Bro this is such a impossible situation
Kill the sun all over again but worse since someone can sense EVERYTHING

This all really depends on personality of overseer if it's something that's just really petty and cautious then at slightest threat like kyle becoming ascendent it will kill him but if it's a battle junkie and careless there might still be a chance

Doesn't seem like perfect imposing law way works either this is desperate Kyle needs to really push everything to extremity and even further for slightest success
    Even current him is insufficient

The way "HE" is playing with humanity is truly ruthless

Why would he ? He is human supremacist ✊

        Situation is as hopeless though
Existence of overseer only makes it more so

Not that it should be possible for anyone other than owner of cosmos

Your comment reminded me of when Star Genesis was the Overseer of the Tertiary world, back when her title was the Twilight Duchess. She was Overseer for so long, but she didn’t have enough Momentum to progress any further, and because it was her job from the Contrast Empire to sabotage the world’s development her only source of potential True Battles was the champions of the cult of final fate but she wasn’t willing to risk death so she wasn’t letting them grow. What if the situation with this primary world is like the inverse of that, considering that the Overseer is a Divine Beast. Beasts are designed to constantly seek out True Battles and aren’t afraid of dying during them, and Divine Beasts are just as intelligent as humans while still retaining that same drive. So a Divine Beast Overseer has carefully altered the world to increase the battle strength of humans as much as possible in order to create possible opponents that it can have True Battles with.

Зачем тогда останавливать им развитие, судя по всему, то Надзиратель может единолично уничтожить всех существ в этом мире, ведь высший уровень для этого мира это бессмертный(11), а для людей стать повелителем духов(7) уже огромное препятствие

It’s a quality versus quantity thing. They’ve made advancement very difficult, but the main obstacle is needing to fight endless True Battles. The thing about True Battles though is that there is always at least a chance of victory, so the Overseer is selecting for one individual who can beat the odds enough times in a row that the endless opponents eventually stop being dangerous to them.
