    I can see why some people have a hard time dealing with a much more simple but head strong MC instead of the usual cunning MC. But with a simple change it went from a lil frustrating about his choices to fully enjoying it.

    I downloaded a word replacement extension and swapped variations of Tang Shaoyang with Ken Kitano, from Sun-Ken Rock manga, and it made everything click. I had to re-read some of the beginning and just imaging it all being 'Ken' was hilarious and him on his journey to the now 'Sun-Ken Rock Empire'.

    This happens and probably its happening right now in some part of the world and its fine being put in works of fiction with tact.
    I was around chp 30 or so and BAM!! drug rape trope and that really bum me out, you could say that well it is a chinesse writer after all, but still, could you be tactful or give the act the seriousness that represents.
    After that the comments making a celebration about it made me feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable.

      Apocalypse means a depressing world. Every dark fantasy becomes the reality caused by despair. Zombie apocalypse won't seem apocalyptic if everything is just and orderly. If this novel is too dark to you then you should consider reading more lighthearted novels. Demon king and hero novels perhaps.

        i believe you are taking my comment as a critique to the novel or the act and by your comment the world at that time is gloom and doom so should be expected happening somewhere and i dont disagree.
        but if you read what i wrote i was never attacking the novel you enjoy i was saying that no matter the setting it should not be treated as an oppsie with a sitcom laugh track and i just expresed my disdain to the celebration of the comments.
        If you disagree with me in this is fine but we should not twist the meaning of the comment.
        I encourage people reading Armipotent but as a writer i could tell that this segment wasnt well put together for the need to not delve in the build up of romance, so i will disagree about what you say about my tolerance of dark settings.

          Firstly, no offense. I genuinely thought you might be sensitive to dark setting. Secondly, I disagree with you taking the comments with literal meaning. We say a lot of dark things as a joke everyday, it's like that. And I don't think someone who spends hours reading a novel is stupid. And if someone does something bad there is law to handle it. No need for needless worry about dark comments.
          Thirdly, artists have their own preferences. But personally, I would enjoy descriptive, untactful writing. So, I support it.

        We don't know the ethnicity of the author, but it is written in English. With how niche the WN community is in English speaking countries compared to China it would make little sense if the author was Chinese and wrote it in English instead of Chinese, but who knows.

      In the 500s the MC just straight-up rapes (no drugs/aphrodisiac involved) one of the spirits he summoned because she would rather die than willingly form a contract with him and somehow raping her will make her change her mind and submit, so yeah I don't think this novel does the best job of handling sexual assault. Comments of that chapter are naturally also celebratory, of course.

    Hope origin isn't bad ai

    The portals bit was good character development and a good read but it was 200+ chapters long (130-330ish)and could have been shortened.
