I recommend this novel to every person that has bad day or bad mood.
This is simply comedy masterpiece 🤣👍

And let me tell you, make a good joke is hard, in it's more so to make it consistent.
So the author must be intelligent or has high EQ.

The world development and plot is good, this novel world settings seems simple, but actually contains many mysteries, which unraveled as the story goes.

Oh, and although this novel is full comedy, but the story is bit dark, and the characters is full of crazy people. Which I like.

In short, this is hidden gem

Can someone tell me why some novels are posted with different names than what was previously there? Or is that something along the lines of “lost in translation”

I understood the essence of comedy. It seems to me that the author can joke about anything and joke about anyone, only death can stop him. For those who just have a drink or like to laugh out loud, this romance is your grail.
It can also be a great introduction to the world of masochism. MC will teach you to take pleasure in pain addiction

I liked it till the mc decided to try and save the world, and started acting like "humans numbah 1, China numbah 1, I save all of humanity! (China!)"

oof, does this actually happen? novel doesn't seem to have a nationalism tag, and the tags here are usually pretty accurate.

Yeah, I forget exactly where I stopped. It's a shame too, because the humor in this story is usually pretty funny. Once the mc gets a bit stronger, a plot starts where the mc wants to teleport humanity (Chinese people) into alternate worlds. Idk if this plotline gets followed through or not. And ofc anyone not Chinese gets a negative reputation.

        I read to 300+,

Quick answer : There is some nationalism but not too much. Foreigner aren't outright insulted but prejudices are here.

        Longer answer
Like many novels where the country is still "present" ( actually China or we just know it's the best country, so CHINA) The nationalism really isn't that heavy. Of course, to be a foreigner isn't that good, and it can be annoying as a reader..

Nevertheless, in this novel I didn't feel that the MC was 24/7 saying China is full of talented people; "OMG those hidden dragons and crounching tigers !!!"

Though he doesn't break the countrymen either, if they are doing bad things it's because it's for humanity..

It's borderline, not trashing country's people but not sucking up to them too much neither..

Lol, after reading so many novels that goes on the same tangent my brain has subconsciously dissociated China from any of the fantasy countries in the stories. To me it's just whatever country the MC is staying in, "go you making it more prosperous, you're a good citizen!" welldone

That's about it really, all that subliminal messaging has just faded away, I've built resistance kef

It also helps that these are translated novels and I don't speak Chinese so whatever country name they use doesn't really register to me as "China" eyetwit

It's funny but i can't remember an equivalent with other countries or at least not to the degree i see it in Xianxia novels, like I've read a lot of novels in Royalroad where the US shows up but there's not that much nationalist tendencies either, usually the opposite really. For Japan in manga/light novels it's all about dying by overwork in black companies, getting stabbed by randoms in the streets or the horrors of being an adult in japan the only exception i can think of is GATE, Korean Manhwa don't depict the government all that well either.

In fact now that i think about it any kind of "China is Great!" feels shoehorned in Xianxia,
after all it's a power fantasy about obtaining immortality and god like power, usually the MC is extremely independent and doesn't want to be tied down, there's a few that are like bootling levels of bad but usually it's not the case, i suppose that with the surveillance over there you can't really criticize china even in a fictional novel.

Yup, sometimes it feels like it was forced in to "tick a box" and move on. Some of the novels I've read actually had a significant "nationalist promotion" chapter or couple of chapters and then the author just moves on. Nothing else in subsequent chapters. Token effort because the people assessing the novels probably can't be bothered to read the entire novel lol.

Right at the start, I found something I hated.
I haven't read a good parallel world novel. A travel back in time, parallel world, transmigration sounds like crap.
Whatever. Let me check it out.

The same for me from the start. Not really hate but i do not like yaoi stuff so it bothers me when mc flirts with men. He admitted himself that he was bisexual. But in the latest chapters, I think the author is determined to make mc love female only. There were signs that he doesnt like gay stuff anymore.

Thats what gay people call others when their preferences arent accepted. I dont hate gays or bisexual like you, I just prefer a straight MC. Im not used to a male mc flirting with males, i dont prefer a harem chasing mc either. Dont get butthurt, the world doesnt revolve around you.

Everyone Else is a Returnee is a pretty decent novel. Doesn't exactly fit in the parallel world genre but close enough.
