      that's the typical cliche and the way ALL the authors use to nerf and limit the growth of the mc, (broke) and (expensive) etc... when you see it in every single novel you read, it gets very frustrating.

      Yeah. It’s a mixed copy of pokemon, monster pet evolution and some others. But still multiple times better than the vast majority of ‘pet novels’ out these days.

        I would suggest The Charm of Soul Pets, it's great, although it's on the darker side (a plus for me hehe). But one downside to it is the translation errors, it's a bit wacky. Nevertheless it was a good read.
