“Think you’re in charge of your own destiny, huh? Still planning to cross the river? Got spirit, I’ll give you that. Then how about you go practice holding your breath at the bottom of the river first? Don’t come up for three days.”

“Whether you’re demon beast bait at the Western Front or an administrator at the Alliance headquarters… you’re serving the Immortal Alliance either way. One job isn’t nobler than the other.”

“The cultivation restrictions protect everyone. The lower-level cultivators never seem to grasp that we senior cultivators are already being generous by letting them cultivate and extend their lives at all. They’re just never satisfied!”

“Let the cultivators tighten their belts a little more. The Alliance will handle the bad publicity.”

“Policy reform isn’t your concern. A newly-formed Golden Core has no business lecturing us about how to run things.”

“They keep complaining about every little thing wrong with the cultivation world, but have they ever stopped to think what would happen to low-level cultivators without the current system? They’d just become cultivation resources, that’s what!”

“The evidence is right here and he’s still making excuses? Beat it out of him! If we don’t refresh his memory properly, he’ll never admit what he’s done.” Collapse

Very mid, lacks the slice of life tag, maybe has some potential if the Exposition and other irrelevant things stop, but dont bother reading, seems worthless.
Also it seems this novel is in someform made for people new to the genre, but it also uses stuff that just is not something completly new people know, dunno why its done this way.

It's a novel with great potential, but it became clear the author isn't very skilled at writing narrative tension. A big part of the novel is slice of life. But the biggest problem is that there is simply too much useless exposition forced down the readers' throat before it is releveant.

MC is okish, moderately smart and he has a cheat. He was born in a very stable and united Foundation Establishment clan (similar vibes to Mirror legacy novel) and is groomed well by them. But it gets annoying how many scenes the author introduces where is is glazed by his family.

At this point, I think it's unlikely the novel will get better, which is a shame because the world is quite realistic and logically coherent.

I could only read till chapter 34.
It was very tedious to read.
Basically it's a slice of life and comedy.
Action and progress of cultivation is extremely slow.

I couldn't read much ether. There is something good in this but it is too slow. There need to be action. Stakes. Things happening. Rivalrys. Villans to hate. Ect.

Reading the synopsis especially these parts reminded me of No Money to Cultivate Immortality!

No tropes is so funny, because that's pretty impossible. Because subverting and avoiding tropes are still tropes within themselves. You write a story? It has tropes!

Tropes are the elements or building blocks of story telling. It's fundamentally impossible to tell a story without telling a story, so you can't tell a story without a trope. What they wanted to say was maybe no clichés. Everything at the beginning of the description is a trope.

Even beyond that, first line of the actual description introduces fatalism.

i get that, my comment was an exaggerating statement of maybe its so bland and boring( no actual story, like the entire novel is just the day of a literal stone 500 times, you have the trope of looking at a stone, but calling it that having actual tropes is kind of a strech) that it achieves that, yes objectively that cant be the case exept if the stroy is literaly ""(even if you maybe called that the null trope), but thats not what i was getting at. View it like this if everything is done with extremely little intent of going any direction even if it technically has tropes, its in a way devoid of anything. If you want you might say that no tropes can be called anti or Null-tropes as no intent to be something.
But i dont think that was what was meant here anyway it prob was it has no cliche tropes or cliche, if i had to guess(which it does funnly enough) (also small thing if we go by technically per Definition if you somehow wrote something in a way never written before thered be no tropes, so actually no its not fundamentaly impossible to write a story with no tropes, because if it was that would imply we already have written atleast an countably infinite amount of storys, i dont know how to write a story that makes sense that is devoid of tropes, but if you want a blueprint write in a way that uses symboles nobody has ever used in a order that has never been used, using concept never thought of in a length nobody has ever used, something along those lines would prob do the trick easy right ? XD)

I believe if you've written something that has never done before, in that instance you've created a new trope

"One of the things we tried to do with Monty Python's Flying Circus was to try and do something that was so unpredictable that it had no shape and you could never say what the kind of humor was. And I think that the fact that 'Pythonesque' is now a word in the Oxford English Dictionary shows the extent to which we failed."

Yes you do, but you yourself havent actually used that trope, everyone past you writing like it has, including your own repetiton. Kind of like how if nobody has ever done something it is unique but once you do it no longer is unique but it itself was, a trope is in essence a form of a relation to something while yes you can have a relation relate to only one thing trope is definied as something that is recurring.
It kind of is the question of if every trope already exists, even if nobody has or will ever think of them, which is a hard thing to answer clearly. Personaly no, i also dont belief that every mathmatical insight exists even if it is fundamentaly part of the universe/can be discovered.

True, but I assume it's shorthand for including none of the infamous genre tropes like arrogant young masters, aphrodisiacs, system cheats, bullshit luck, etc.
