Apocalypse: I Can See the HP Bar, Killing Monsters Drops Loot末世：我能看见血条，杀怪掉宝

Lots of negative comments, but for me, one of the best stories about the zombie apocalypse.

not sure what the book is about but the synopsis just make it seem like a novel for creeps and perverts with no integrity.

This isn't anything new but I like these types of Novels and this one was quite decent.

So I only got to chapter 8, and I can see this novel having the chapter summery as the title. I wish there was a way to hide those!!

Got to Chapter 54 before dropping. Story itself is VERY heavily based on Dying Light, but also the typical Zombie ability crystal things I've noticed have been in the few Zombie novels I've read. The main reason I'm dropping is that he promised to not abandon the useless neighbour wife.

The MC is pretty cautious, which is very nice, as well as extremely strong and disciplined. His cheat is that he can see the HP bars of others, when he kills zombies he gains special loot that he can store in a system space and he gains some extra max HP. All pretty typical stuff.

There are lots of clear dying light references that become more apparent later on - upgrading pipes by tying pointy hammers on them, zombies being stronger at night etc. But the clearest sign is that one of the special zombies is literally the exact same as the first boss in the game - the huge Zombie with the rock Hammer.

As mentioned above, the neighbour wife is the reason I'm dropping this. She is worse than useless - she can only do general housework (cooking, cleaning etc.) but is constantly either intentionally or unintentionally (mostly intentionally imo) dressing up provocatively to try and seduce MC. Like it's a Zombie Apocalypse yet she's constantly wearing high heels, then complains her legs are hurting...like obviously.
She is extremely naive/stupid as well as timid. She doesn't want MC to abandon her, as mooching off him is the only way she can stay fed. When MC plans to go out and explore for a bit, he specifically tells her (after she starts crying and begging him not to abandon her) that he's just exploring and wont leave, yet despite hearing a plane overhead (which dropped a care package), once she sees MC drive away to chase after it, she immediately thinks he lied to her.

This causes her to basically be tricked by one of the remaining 2 survivors and then be saved by the other one, which causes him to be turned into a Zombie. This was a guy who helped MC by teaching him lockpicking as well.
When MC returns he even points out that, if she really thought he left, she could've asked the locksmith guy to break into MCs apartment, since she knows there is food there. Yet instead she trusted a complete stranger (who never interacted with any of them before) and thus got the locksmith killed.
Then she uses the excuse of cooking for MC to dress up and seduce him, whilst also interrupting him preparing molotovs, which causes him to be annoyed and splashed with some gasoline.

Despite all this, she complains about her legs hurting due to her wearing high heels all the time, then MC gives her a massage (which is omitted), and then she tries to get him to promise to not abandon her, which he, for some dumb reason, actually does.


Given its clear she's not going to improve at all in terms of intelligence or caution, and she's basically just a burden, I was hoping he would just agree to escort her to the nearest survivor base in the future, but this promise just really kills my desire to read further tbh.

Mid novel. At least we know the author's preferences after reading.

(chapter 140+) Very normal novel in an apocalypse setting. Small amount of poison and u can watch MC kill to slowly get stronger. Very linear plot (predictable) but the writing is more intelligent than other novels. The cheat is reliable and a lifeline but very well done and no deus ex machina at all. Overall it was ok to binge for 2 days but personally there is nothing in the story that interests me, and there are basically no well written or unique characters. The MC is selfish but with baseline morals and ethics and not immune to do things for others or his groups. Certainly not fang yuan "Evil".

I would give it a D+ rating, not because it is so bad but because the good parts are too ordinary and there is nothing outstanding. Personally I dont like how it focuses so much on meaningless side character dialogue and wish there was more cultivation, training and steadiness.

If you have any good stuffs with evil and benefit oriented MC please tell me, MTL or system is good too after all most translated novels have been read or at least seen by me. You can also send me a DM if you dont like public threads...

I don't really understand how anyone liked this. Although there are some positives (like how the author had the MC rest before he attempted killing zombies while other authors would thrust the MC into killing immediately) it becomes stupid pretty fast. Apparently, the MC thought it was a good idea to jump off a staircase to stab a zombie in the forehead. Like, did the author even try to simulate the feasibility of that action? 9/10 cases the MC just breaks a limb or gets scratched from the zombie. He had already verified that slashing the zombie in the neck was a feasible and stable way to kill it. Why bother taking such a risk? Why even aim at the forehead when the author already claimed it was one of the hardest human bones? Couldn't that MC just aim at the eyes or the temple of the zombie? The MC even brags about how amazing this jumping move is. Definitely, that turned me off hard. Lastly, there was no reason for the neighbor to be classified as married. Could have definitely worked the same if she was single.

Besides doesn't this novel remind you of one with a very similar setting?
