Song Shi came to an immortal world where demons and monsters were rampant. He thought he was going to take a trepidatious road to immortality, but ended up awakening to a death-defying system, gaining strength from death and getting stronger every time he died.

The whole style took a sudden change. Other people cultivated to seek immortality, but he was already immortal, and could only seek immortality by having himself killed in various ways, either by killing himself or by letting people kill him.

[You were killed 10 times by the Yin spirit, awakening the spiritual root of fire!]

[You were killed 10 times by the zombie, awakening the innate divine power!]

[You were killed 10 times for excess cultivation, awakening the Daoist heart!]

[You were killed by a formation, formation level +1!]

[You were killed by an alchemy explosion, +1 alchemy level!]

Pure Yang Spiritual Body, Nine Yang Divine Body, Sun Sacred Body; Vajra Spiritual Body, Golden Divine Body, Draconic Sacred Body; Psychic Sword Body, Innate Dao Body; Formation Master, Alchemy Master…

His cultivation was a fun journey, and he kept finding ways to kill himself on his way to the top of the immortal path…

Years later, the world rumor had it that once Song Shi died, the immortals were terrified, the demons trembled, and ten thousand Buddhas retreated! Collapse

I think its well written but I dont like how the plot goes. Comedy is good but other than that, its like Mc has no direction and is immediately engulfed in tragedies. Good thing dying is beneficial to him.
He is basically a simp too. It isnt harem yet from the last ive read but i cant read it anymore. Just not for me. He just goes with the flow its pitiful

Read all available chapters (291). It's a pretty decent novel. It isn't a full blown comedy novel, but a large part of it definetly has humorous elements to it.

This is yet another immortal MC, but unlike others, his Immortality isn't in the form of lifespan or invulnerability, but acts more like a respawn. After he dies, of any cause, he respawns after 3 seconds either at the same spot, or at a pre-determined spot. Later on he even has the ability to set a secondary respawn point as well, so he always has a backup. Upon respawn he is fully healed, including all his Qi/Spiritual energy/etc. The respawn includes whatever was on his person at the time (clothes, accessories, treasures etc.)

Upon each death he gains things, like stat points, skill experience (like formations), physiques and spiritual roots. The stat points and skill experience can only be farmed 10 times per source, but as the total number of deaths per source increases, the accumulated reward increases.

After dying from someone, if he can kill them in return then he gets a chance to draw from a lottery wheel.

At the start MC does his best to keep his Immortality secret, since he doesn't want to be captured and experimented on, but as time goes on and he gains methods to prevent that, he becomes a lot more proactive and even ends up challenging some royal families and Demons. This is the part where the comedy part becomes a lot more prevalent.

The main reason I think I even got this far, despite not being a huge fan of comedy novels, was mainly due to how different he uses his Immortality compared to other MCs. Whilst they mostly stay lowkey and hide their Immortality wherever possible, this guy (once he has some safety measures in place) basically all but announces it to everyone, though they obviously all think its some artifact or Dharma treasure.

This novel is good especially the comedy (it's not that really funny btw only the chinese can understands the intended humor or if you've read enough mtl). Anyway it is satisfying to read at early chapters from 1-80 as far as I remember and then after
it went downhill. The longer you read this novel the more brain damage you'll get.

(I've read upto 268 chapters btw and I've decided to dropped it because even after turning my brain off I cannot comprehend it anymore)

Good luck to anyone who's gonna read this in the future.

The start is good, but when he gets the immortal goddess he starts to forget the ohter girls, also the reincarnation arc was pure poison..., the system truth is also horrible.

Is this meant to be comedic since comment below says the part of him being immortal is funny for the most part though there is no comedy genre there. Honestly, I dunno anyone mind telling me your views?

It is ok, nothing extraordinary but also not to trashy to read.
The part of him being immortal is funny for themost part but it also tkes away the tension of the novel as he can do whatever he wants without consequences. Later he also gains the ability to resist cc (crowd control) which can get him out of any seal or prison (he can teleport through dying, making imprisoning impossible) which was the only thing that could have kept him in check.
If you ignore the harem that is just plain and comes out of nowhere and you don't have something to read than you can give this a try, but keep in mind that you should take this with low expectations
