The human race is fending off the assault of the thaids, strange monsters evolved by animals occupying most of the planet's surface.

Because of the monsters, society has evolved into one based on individual fighting prowess; Erik is an abandoned young boy living in such society with the most useless of the powers.

Everything changes when his father returns home, bringing something he would have never expected.

[Welcome to The Biological Supercomputer System, host Erik Romano]

***

Hello, this is the author. The first twenty chapters will be a little slow-paced because I needed time to introduce some things. From Chapter 20, I will speed things up. ALSO the protagonist I planned to write about is not a superhero! He is frequently a coward and, at times, quite stupid. You may wonder, why have you made such a character? Because what I wanted to show is GROWTH. No one is born almighty, no one is born ruthless, and no one is born wise. People have to sweat to achieve these results, which is precisely what I intend my MC to do! So, if you don't like this kind of protagonist, you either stay away from the novel or stay with him throughout his journey to improve himself. Collapse

I don't know how i feel about this. The concept, world, powers, and MC's cheat are all really good, and i like them.
I just don't like the MC. The author says he is trying to emphasize GROWTH, but it just isn't working well for me. He is very hypocritical, and not in a good way. He is just too stupid to notice.
He constantly does things against common sense. And he is also a psychopath that enjoys killing people.
Which is fine, but the author is trying to make the MC seem pitiful and a victim, which he is, but he is also causing a lot of the problems for himself because of how stupidly he handles situations.

Oh, he is also endangering the lives of everyone in the entire city just so he can have a chance to get stronger. He justifies it by saying everyone deserves to die because he was bullied.

In summery: MC is a psycho villain that the author is trying to make seem like the Underdog Hero.

Side note: The English is really weird, i assume that it isnt the authors first language. Often refers to people as "this young man", or "this young girl" instead of using their names. Gets a little confusing as to who is talking and such.

To be fair, he gets the idea but doesn't follow through. I think anyone who got this power would eventually have this thought/impulse go through their mind. Also in my opinion the story gets alot better, especially post ch 350ish when he finally

When Authors justify their shitty characters at the start by emphasizing GROWTH I can be assured that they'll grow to greater heights of stupidity and cowardice

'Evil' is a concept for children, fiction and superstitious nonsense.

Cruelty is real. And yes, kids are often quite cruel. Sometimes it's selfishness and ignorance but it's also often sadism and aggression issues.

Environment isn't ever the only issue because not all people turn into sadistic assholes from growing up in a bad environment. Bad environments just remove the possibility of them developing good habits and give their bad impulses the room to grow more.

Emphasis on 'kids'. The question is whether they are born that way. Tbh, I don't care about this conversation in the slightest, I'm even feeling tired just writing this so I won't be replying from now on lol.

            It is simple logic.

Since the environment didn't expressely turned them 'cruel' or 'evil' , this means that they had those characteristics inherently. In other words they were born that way. This doesn't mean that babies have the ability to have clear cut personalities or to act on them. But that doesn't take away from the fact that they might be predisposed to certain characteristics.

Besides a lot of things are more subjective than someone might think. 'Cruel' is one of those things. Something that you might find being cruel , like being truthful about someone's appearance (when said appearance is 'bad') might not be cruel to someone else. That someone else might argue that by being hypocritical and witholding the truth you are doing more harm to the other person than with just being honest.

Kids are usually labeled as cruel due to their selfishness or how raw and truthful their speach or actions might be.

It's really simple logic but you somehow make it complex.

Humans also animals. Moreover humans are superior predator for entire planet and every single one easy to reach area. Humans born with 'cruel' and 'evil' sides and never ending wars through history just prove it.
As individually weak species we evolve to have thing other can call inborn good - empathy. Just mechanism that force us to unite in dangerous situation but "danger" can be other human as well. This thing not even first priority in our system so everything can surpass it while thing that fueling 'bad' sides have pretty high priority. When there are not external explicit danger it's barely works actually and we can prove it with apathy when ppl falling down on streets and everyone ignore them (there will be some good guy but 99% just go ahead).
