A normal guy gets hit by a truck and isekai’d.

Why? Because trucks are apparently some cosmic loophole.

He decides to be a dungeon, because it sounds weird and interesting to be one.

Is it? Let’s find out. Collapse

Well that's kind of what happens near the end of the Divine Dungeon Series by Dakota Krout. Great read but not a webnovel.

It’s not like it’s Webnovel where you’re paying hundreds of dollars to read one book, The whole divine dungeon series is 20ish dollars. Just buy it.

Yes, use tor sites, get malware and ransomware, then have your credit card info and identity stolen. Instead of paying $2.99 for a kindle book... Good plan.

What do you mean "Tor Sites" and getting malware from using TOR. I don't think you understand the technology my fellow Daoist.

Unless you’re experiencing in how to avoid it, downloading random files off of questionable sites is probably the fastest way to get viruses on your computer

Yes. But there is no such thing as "Tor Sites". There are Onion domain sites, but they didn't recommend you go to one. TOR blocks a lot of malware itself. It doesn't allow most of anything to run on it except HTML and CSS so using TOR itself is a great way to stop malware and visit a site securely. It's also anonymous which is why #POPCORN_DEMON# originally recommended it. I never said you should download random things. I agree that if you are on a sketchy website using a virtual machine and some anti-ransomware and anti-malware software running is best practice before downloading anything. But let's not go blaming TOR, a web browser, blindly. That's the kind of stuff that makes people resistant to taking steps to increase their privacy.

Tried to read Divine Dungeon after this recommendation, but the 3rd book was just terrible. I feel bad for non web novel LitRPG readers if this book is considered one of the best mainstream LitRPG books.

A well read dungeon core novel without the system. It’s free form in its dungeon building but follows set guidelines that focus new dungeons. Overall a really good read with fun story and well developing characters.

Just note that this is a dungeon core novel, by its genre it will have large info dumps, walls of text theory crafting, and little exploration. This is not a book for everyone but is definitely good.

    Score 4.7

It doesn’t have an interface or crazy number crunching you would expect from similar novels that do use a system.

Really liking this laid back and amusing read. Not a deadly dungeon right off the bat but instead is filled with a type of quirkiness I don't often see in novels. I'm enjoying it a lot so far. Enough to leave an off-top review.

I think it's because the good ones, have the author focusing on the content of the novel. While the ones with a better cover, the authors might be either focused on how appealing it looks (aka click bait). The ones that have both I think usually have a good helper(s) that focus on that while the writer focuses on the content.

It's honestly just too boring. Kinda feels like one of those JP novels with insane amount of useless filler text.

Edit: Finished it upto Ch 70.
It's gets more interesting after Ch 11, but still, i found myself skipping entire chapters due to insane amount of rambling text.

I read this over on RR, and its a pretty solid novel of its type. I especially like that it doesn't feel the need to enumerate everything or fill for space with "blue boxes." While those numbers exist in universe they aren't the focus. Telling an enjoyable slice of (dungeon) life story is. There is also some pretty good characterization of both the humans and dungeon denizens.

As far as complaints, some won't like the vague handling of the "numbers" of leveling/mana etc, and overall the stakes/threats are pretty low, but not completely absent.

All told its a good novel for fans of dungeon core tropes but who want actual characters and storytelling rather than endless tables and numbers getting bigger.

I love when my review helps someone find a novel that they can enjoy, but its equally good when someone can avoid wasting their time on a novel that isn't to their tastes.

And I like it when people understand that just because it's not what they're looking for, that it's a bad novel and leave peacefully like Golden did.

I personally hate it when someone makes a system novel and then makes the system irrelevant. For me the whole point of the system is the numbers. If you aren't going to bother with them why add them ?

Honestly without looking at the tags I wouldn’t have assumed it was a system novel, I thought it was a dungeon core novel.

90%+ of the dungeon core novels are also system novels. It is possible for system novels to not focus on the numbers but there is a caveat. A simple example would be "Dungeon of Pride, Laplace". There are numbers but there are more vague. In other words you don't care for the exact number but the range of the number (single digits , double digits ,etc). The focus of that novel is on the skills , class/rank (which directly relates to bloodline) and dungeons. The MC is master of a dungeon that he develops from scratch. The price of designing his dungeon and the profits from his dungeon don't matter for precise numbers. The precision is within 10^1 and 10^-1. Also the benefits of the dungeon for the MC are more intangible. He doesn't benefit from dungeon points directly but from the products the dungeon can produce on each floor. The higher tier of the dungeon and special props can increase the mana density and purity in the dungeon which increases the quality and quantity of the things it produces.

I don’t know, system novels to me a very specific type of webnovel usually with an MC who has the help of a system, outside of a video game or game like interface, that uses said system to power-up. Dungeon core has always been more game-lit than system novel.

Well for me anything that has a game interface is considered part of the system genre. Ofcourse sub-divisions exist. For example systems that span whole worlds. System Administrator where the MC has a special system among those existences. Then you also have individual systems , the so called golden fingers. If you are not gonna focus even a little to the system don't bother to add it. You better just build your world without it. It is possible to do so and still have game elements. The essence of the system for me is the game interface.
