Chapter 41

Augustin and Grosk were walking on the streets. Thanks to his Grace of Insight, he could clearly sense quite a few people staring at him.

Many of these people had dirty thoughts because of his excessively exquisite and beautiful appearance, and some of them were spies.

"Tell me about those two" Augustin didn't care about the stares around him and asked Grosk.

"Oh, okay." Grosk was also a bit surprised, then continued: "One of them is called Jason Todd, a mercenary. He's a brutal man, but a man of his word. He only arrived in Reya this year, apparently he's been looking for the murderer of his family"

"The other one is a strange assassin. I only know his name is Jack. Every once in a while, he would come out to look for business. According to him, as long as the price is high enough, he can even kill the king," Grosk said.

"As for the others, they might be able to fight a winning battle, but if they were to face Negri, they would probably change sides immediately." Glosk explained: "Of course, there are some who hide too deeply, I only know of these two"

"It doesn't matter. Those people will probably find someone else." Augustin smiled as he and Grosk arrived at Jason Todd's residence, a tavern.

This was not because Jason Todd was a heavy drinker, but because most of the taverns in the area had a part-time job of distributing mercenary missions and trading information.

Jason Todd was originally from an ordinary family. According to the original trajectory, he might have chosen to go to the docks to transport goods, or become a carpenter or a blacksmith. However, a pirate invasion disrupted everything for him.

Although he wasn't rich, his happy family was broken into pieces. He was lucky enough to escape with his life. When he returned home, he found his father beheaded, his mother lying in a pool of blood, and his younger sister and brother who had been raped to death.

Unable to accept this fact, Jason could only choose to embark on the path of vengeance. From the mouth of another surviving woman, he found out the appearance and characteristics of the culprit. He then began to search for the traces of the pirates, and crazily trained his body and combat skills.

Unfortunately, after another battle at sea, more than half of the pirates were killed or injured. The rest of them decided to go ashore to clear their names and find a small place to become a manor owner.

Jason found one of them, forced the name and whereabouts of the culprit, then continued his pursuit. This pursuit lasted for 7 years. During these 7 years, Jason grew from a young man to a robust man. Unable to exact his revenge for so long, his methods became more and more violent, but perhaps because of what happened in the past, he placed a lot of importance on keeping his word. As long as he made a vow, he would definitely keep it.

Walking through the messy tavern, Augustin's face attracted a lot of attention, but the priest uniform of the Church of Divine Grace made a lot of people give up on their dirty thoughts, most of them just stared at him.

"That is Jason Todd" Grosk pointed at a man who was seriously eating.

The term 'seriously eating' might sound strange, but anyone who saw Jason eating would agree with it.

Jason slowly put food into his mouth bit by bit with extreme seriousness, as if it was something he had to do. At the same time, his face was completely expressionless, even if his food was mixed with insects, he would still eat it without changing his expression. This gave the impression that the food didn't matter to him, he was only eating, not actually eating.

Jason was wearing a black tank top with short silver hair, his weapon was placed right next to him. A cruel and boring person like him didn't have any companions.

"What an impressive person" Augustin commented as he pulled out the chair across from Jason and sat down.

"Is there something you need?" it was simple and direct, as if Jason didn't want to waste a single second.

"Hm, I have a difficult request for you" Augustin smiled and said.

"Very well" Jason didn't even look up and agreed.

"You know what I want to request from you?" Augustin was a bit confused.

"In fact, anyone with enough information would already know" Jason swallowed the last bit of food and looked up at Augustin: "Didn't you see that none of the tavern attendants came to greet you?"

"Then why did you agree?"

"One of my goals might be to become a Crowmen, so even if you don't come to me, I'll come to you. Also, if you want to go to Jack, there's no need for that. I've already looked for him, he seems to have accepted a mission and left Reya"

"Very well" Augustin nodded.

At the same time, Chris watched as Nala went downstairs to continue her meal with a complicated look in his eyes. When he first learned [Respiratory Art], he also had a senior to guide him, but it still took him more than a day to barely grasp it.

But Nala managed to learn most of it in just a single afternoon. As for the more advanced [Respiratory Art] techniques, Chris didn't teach her, those techniques were up to her own comprehension. As long as she grasped the basic techniques, she would be able to learn the advanced ones as well.

The [Respiratory Art] was still the same [Respiratory Art], but the [Respiratory Art] used by every expert was different. Of course, the [Respiratory Art] that was passed down from generation to generation would have other secret techniques that couldn't be learned through comprehension alone, they were the crystallization of the wisdom of several generations.

Chris did have one of these secret techniques, but it wasn't suitable for him to teach it to Nala, perhaps he would have to wait until later.

After sending Nala away, Chris sighed in relief. After all, she was the Saintess of Salvation from the prophecy, so at least she had the ability to protect herself after learning [Respiratory Art].

"Come out, after listening for so long, what do you think?" Chris's expression became serious as he spoke to an empty spot on the other side of the room.

"So this is the Saintess of Salvation from the prophecy?" The light in the empty spot warped a bit as a person wearing the uniform of the Kingdom of Royas walked out and bowed to Chris: "[School of Light] Smick Lancher greets your excellency Chris"

"[School of Firewood], Chris Modo" Chris's expression became serious, the inheritors of [Respiratory Art] all used secret techniques to communicate with each other.

"Negri is too dangerous, so we decided to join forces?" Chris asked with a serious tone.

"His forces are growing larger and larger, which isn't good for the Kingdom" Smick nodded: "Joining forces, this is without a doubt"

"Then what do you think of Nala?" Chris slowly asked.
