Chapter 252: Sherlock
The flame in the furnace in the center went out, and soon the machines stopped working as well.
Su Xiao didn't know what these machines were designed for, but destroying them clearly wouldn't do him any harm.

Su Xiao went inside with Bubtney and the emperor, then lowered the lever. The elevator first vibrated, then slowly began to rise.

The elevator started to make quite terrifying noises, and Su Xiao felt that this elevator might collapse at any moment.
Bubtney closed his eyes and moved closer to him.
As they rose, the surrounding walls changed from dense black stone to metal walls.

The elevator slid down for a moment, and Su Xiao immediately stabilized his body and didn't move.

— I'm not lying!
After hesitating for a bit, Su Xiao walked towards the direction the emperor pointed out.
After a while, Su Xiao heard the sound of footsteps in the distance, but he didn't sense any creature.
However, the footsteps were getting closer and closer.
Su Xiao immediately looked around and saw a dozen doors. Choosing one of them at random, he immediately penetrated inside it.
In fact, even Su Xiao's perception was greatly weakened in this place. Something was suppressing his perception, so he could only sense two meters around him right now.
Upon entering, Su Xiao saw a large amount of equipment and test tubes.
This was probably the place where an alchemist usually worked.
