Chapter 826: Failed Escape

Yang Haoran, along with Old Master Wu and the two others, suddenly burrowed underground. Not only were their power fluctuations no longer detectable, but this startling development shocked both the Spirit Master and the two Demon Hunters.

Given Yang Haoran's unique identity, if he managed to escape, all three of them would face considerable trouble. Thus, none of them wished to see Yang Haoran succeed in his escape.

However, as they could no longer sense the four individuals' presence, nor pinpoint their exact location, pulling them out was proving to be no easy feat.

Just as the trio fretted over the situation, the two Demon Hunters suddenly sensed something, their gazes simultaneously darting in one direction.

The Spirit Master's reaction was a half-beat slower than the married couple's, but he, too, shifted his gaze to where they were looking.

Boom! ! !

At that moment, a massive black fist suddenly burst forth from the earth, striking the light barrier projected by the restraining barrier with lightning speed.

Boom! ! !

With a thunderous roar, the ground trembled, and the light barrier emitted by the array vibrated violently. A breach was forcefully blasted open in the barrier's light curtain, and four figures shot out from the gaping hole in the ground, immediately surging towards the newly formed opening in the barrier before them.

These four suddenly appearing figures were, naturally, Yang Haoran and his companions. As the Earth-Escaping Talisman was unable to penetrate the restraining barrier enveloping the area, escaping required first breaching the barrier itself. At the very least, a gap needed to be forced open in the restraining barrier to have any chance of escape.

If they could escape through the restraining barrier, while not a guaranteed hundred percent success, their chances of getting away would undoubtedly be far greater.

Therefore, to seize a sliver of hope and grasp this opportunity, Yang Haoran immediately launched an attack on the barrier with the fastest possible speed.

Furthermore, to ensure they could burst through the barrier in an instant, Yang Haoran only initiated his attack once he was right at its edge. Only by doing so could they save time and escape the barrier in the shortest possible time.

Had he attacked the barrier without first getting close, his strike might have been intercepted by the opponents before it even connected. Even if it had successfully hit the barrier and blown a hole in it, if the distance was too great, escaping would still be a problem, as bursting through the barrier required time.

Thus, to guarantee that the four of them could burst out of the barrier in the shortest possible time, Yang Haoran did not strike recklessly. Instead, he made his move abruptly only when they were close to the barrier's edge.

This approach, besides marginally increasing their chances of escape, was also a measure of last resort. His Earth-Escaping Talisman couldn't penetrate this barrier; the moment it touched, the three Demon Hunters would surely sense it.

Staying hidden underground without touching the barrier was equally unrealistic. Once the Earth-Escaping Talisman's power faded, they would lose their ability to meld into the earth and would reappear on the surface.

Therefore, in Yang Haoran's view, the best course of action was to breach the barrier with lightning speed, then make their escape.

The instant Yang Haoran successfully breached the barrier, the two Demon Hunters reacted almost simultaneously. An Array Disk appeared in the male Demon Hunter's hand, while the female Demon Hunter launched an attack on Yang Haoran!

The breach in the barrier was right before them. At such close range, they could burst through in an instant, and Yang Haoran and his companions were no exception; with a flash of movement, they surged out.

However, just as Yang Haoran and the three others burst out of the barrier, before he could even steady himself or employ any other techniques, verdant, thumb-thick vines suddenly erupted from beneath his feet, binding them tightly.

Though these suddenly appearing vines weren't large, each one was incredibly tough, and from them, he sensed potent Star Spirit Power.

From this, it was clear that these vines, erupting suddenly from the ground, were no ordinary vegetation, but rather a technique employed by a Demon Hunter; otherwise, such powerful Star Spirit Power wouldn't emanate from them.

The female Demon Hunter, who had employed this technique against Yang Haoran, had chosen a control method over a powerful offensive one primarily because she feared Yang Haoran might successfully evade her attack.

In such a situation, if Yang Haoran successfully evaded, his chances of a successful escape would significantly increase.

Ordinarily, she wouldn't have believed Yang Haoran possessed the means to evade her assault, but having just witnessed his use of the Earth-Escaping Talisman, her conviction wavered. Though she was reluctant to believe, she had no choice but to accept it.

Thus, to be safe, she hadn't deployed an offensive technique against Yang Haoran, but rather a control method. She had long since mastered this control technique to perfection; once unleashed, it rarely missed its mark.

Moreover, as long as Yang Haoran was successfully restrained, whether to kill or torture him would be entirely up to her and her husband; they could deal with him however they pleased.

The female Demon Hunter's move was indeed very effective. Yang Haoran had barely burst out of the barrier, having not yet had time to employ any techniques, when he was tightly entangled by the vines that suddenly erupted from beneath his feet. This was because the move she unleashed was not only fast but also incredibly accurate.

After binding his feet, the vines swiftly spread upwards, seemingly intent on coiling around Yang Haoran's entire body.

Yang Haoran's heart jolted. He immediately mobilized the Yin Spirit Power within his body, hoping to shatter the vines, but they were incredibly tough, and in his current state, he couldn't break them.

Pushed to such an extent, Yang Haoran would naturally no longer conceal his strength. While he preferred not to reveal his true power to avoid attracting immense trouble, there were limits. With death imminent, he could hardly worry about such concerns.

However, before he could even open his Heaven Soul, the vines, at that very moment, pulled him forcefully back into the barrier through the very breach they had made.

Concurrently, the male Demon Hunter manipulated the Array Disk, swiftly repairing the restraining barrier. The hole Yang Haoran had forcibly blasted open was rapidly healing at a visible pace.

Yang Haoran's expression changed drastically. He knew it was too late to open his Heaven Soul now. In desperation, he unleashed four talismans towards Old Master Wu outside the barrier. Bolstered by a massive surge of Yin Spirit Power, the four talismans shot out like black lightning from the still-healing breach in the barrier.

The instant those four talismans left his hand, the breach in the barrier completely sealed itself, returning to its original state. Had Yang Haoran been even a fraction of a second slower, those four talismans would not have made it out!

In this critical moment, among the four talismans Yang Haoran dispatched, three were Earth-Escaping Talismans, and one was a Communication Talisman.

Originally, he had intended to personally activate the Communication Talisman, but the opponents' reaction speed was simply too swift, denying him the opportunity entirely. He had barely burst out of the barrier and hadn't even had time for any other move before his body was seized and he was forcibly dragged back in. He had absolutely no time to activate the Communication Talisman.

Had he not reacted quickly enough, and decisively made a choice at that crucial moment, he wouldn't even have been able to send out those four talismans from the barrier.

All of this happened too quickly, and with such suddenness. From Yang Haoran abruptly breaching the barrier to its subsequent sealing, it was merely the work of a flash of lightning. The struggle between the two sides wasn't just about their respective strengths, but also their reaction speeds.

Old Master Wu only reacted after Yang Haoran had already sent the four talismans out of the barrier, a testament to how swiftly everything transpired.

“You two! Let’s talk things over! Don’t do anything rash! ”

Yang Haoran anxiously spoke to the two Demon Hunters. At this moment, he didn't care if his words were useful or not; in his current predicament, he could hardly worry about such details. He had to try, regardless of the outcome.

However, the two Demon Hunters completely ignored him.

“We can’t let those three escape! ”

The male Demon Hunter utterly disregarded Yang Haoran, his gaze fixed on the spot where the barrier had just been breached, and spoke in a deep voice.

“Don’t worry,” the Spirit Master said with a sneer, his voice grim. “I’ll pursue them. With their meager strength, even if they escape the barrier, they can forget about getting out of here alive. ”

The Spirit Master spoke with a sneer, his voice grim. As his words faded, he swept forth in a gust of Yin wind. RANo)BЕs

Since some sort of mark had been imprinted upon him by the Array Disk, the restraining barrier offered no resistance whatsoever, allowing him to pass through it as if it were nothing.
