Chapter 795: Three Items

After understanding the situation, Yang Haoran asked Wang Yiming about his next steps.

Both Wang Yiming and Jiang Die expressed their intention to return to the Talisman Order. They absolutely had to go back to prove their innocence, otherwise, they would face immense trouble in the future, likely bearing the stigma of traitors and even risking lifelong pursuit by the Talisman Order.

Moreover, if they didn't return to the Talisman Order, their faction would undoubtedly be purged by the Old Crone's faction. Those people would die because of them.

Yang Haoran wasn't surprised by their decision to return to the Talisman Order; it was exactly as he expected.

However, considering whether they could handle the matter themselves, he still asked Wang Yiming if he needed Yang Haoran's help in dealing with it, but Wang Yiming declined.

According to Wang Yiming, they had fled to this place because they were truly at their wit's end, and thus decided to seek Yang Haoran's help here.

When they arrived, they hadn't quite expected Yang Haoran to directly kill the Old Crone. After all, she held status and position within the Lecheng Talisman Order, second only to his master, Zhang Changqing. Directly killing her would invite trouble, and the Talisman Order certainly wouldn't let the matter rest. He believed Yang Haoran understood the stakes involved, and therefore wouldn't resort to lethal force against the Old Crone.

Furthermore, the Old Crone surely wouldn't easily fight Yang Haoran to the death. When it came to status, Yang Haoran was higher than her; he was, after all, the top official of the Lecheng Underworld Office. The Old Crone likewise wouldn't want to provoke a behemoth like the Underworld Office.

Therefore, when Wang Yiming chose to flee to Yang Haoran, he already had a simple plan in mind. His first objective was to secure his and Jiang Die's lives through Yang Haoran, and then he would ask Yang Haoran for help to overthrow the Old Crone and clear their names.

Achieving their goal without causing trouble for Yang Haoran was the ideal outcome he envisioned. However, he didn't have a concrete plan at the time and could only decide after securing their lives and discussing it with Yang Haoran.

What he hadn't anticipated, however, was that Yang Haoran would set a trap, framing the Old Crone with the charge of inciting one Underworld official to kill another, and then resolving the Old Crone's fate directly on the spot. This was completely unexpected for Wang Yiming, and his simple plan now seemed somewhat superfluous after Yang Haoran had taken action and killed the Old Crone.

With the Old Crone dead, her faction naturally crumbled into disarray. Aside from one remaining Black Talisman Master who could still pose a threat, no other Talisman Master in the Lecheng Talisman Order could threaten the two of them.

In their current state, if they were to face the Old Crone's faction, they would surely perish without a burial ground. But if they were to recover from their injuries, the outcome would be entirely different; that Black Talisman Master would be no match for them.

Precisely because of this, Wang Yiming declined Yang Haoran's kind offer, as he and Jiang Die could handle the subsequent matters entirely on their own, without needing to trouble Yang Haoran further and thus avoiding any unnecessary complications for him.

However, the prerequisite was that they both needed to recover to a certain extent before they dared return to the Talisman Order to deal with the Old Crone's faction. Otherwise, rushing back in their severely injured state would be nothing more than a fool's errand, delivering themselves to their demise, bringing sorrow to their loved ones and delight to their foes.

Given the urgency, the sooner they returned to the Talisman Order, the more advantageous it would be for them. Therefore, after careful consideration, Yang Haoran produced several drops of Pharmacist's Medicine for them to consume and then used his own Spirit Power to help their physical bodies rapidly absorb the medicinal energy emanating from the liquid.

Two days later, Wang Yiming and Jiang Die departed Yang Haoran's villa and hurried back to the Talisman Order.

In just two days, with Yang Haoran's assistance, although they hadn't fully recovered to their peak condition, they had at least regained seventy to eighty percent of their strength. Achieving such a degree of recovery in such a short time was entirely thanks to the Pharmacist's Medicine refined by Feng Xiao.

Had they not taken the Pharmacist's Medicine refined by Feng Xiao, given the severity of their injuries, they could not have hoped to recover to this state in less than a month.

If Feng Xiao had personally treated them, examining their injuries and providing targeted therapy, their recovery speed would undoubtedly have been even more astonishing. However, Yang Haoran did not allow Feng Xiao to appear, nor did he let her handle this matter, as Feng Xiao's existence was a secret, and he didn't want too many people to know about it.

Yang Haoran had originally intended to let them stay one more day, consuming a bit more Pharmacist's Medicine to allow their injuries to recover further. However, Wang Yiming refused, believing that their current state was already sufficient to cope.

Wang Yiming was insistent on leaving, and Yang Haoran did not press him to stay, as he somewhat understood Wang Yiming's thoughts. Before they departed, he handed Wang Yiming three items.

A corpse, a bottle of Pharmacist's Medicine, and a Death God Pendant.

The corpse was that of Wang Yiming's master, Zhang Changqing. That day, Yang Haoran, considering Wang Yiming's deep bond with his master, had chosen not to cremate Zhang Changqing's body, instead storing it within his personal spatial storage. He had originally planned to deliver it to Wang Yiming himself, but since Wang Yiming was now here, he no longer needed to make the trip, simply handing Zhang Changqing's body directly to him.

The Pharmacist's Medicine was specifically for healing injuries. The porcelain bottle was only thumb-sized, and it contained only a few drops, not filling the entire bottle.

Although the Pharmacist's Medicine was scarce, merely a few drops, for Wang Yiming, even a handful of drops was a significant quantity. To him, a single drop was exceedingly precious, let alone several drops. With these few drops of medicine, he would have a means of saving his life in times of crisis.

The Death God Pendant was an item imbued by Yang Haoran with his Spirit Power. It possessed a certain defensive capability. Should danger arise, if the pendant was passively activated or simply destroyed, Yang Haoran would sense it and rush to the scene to provide aid without delay.

However, given Wang Yiming's identity as a Black Talisman Master of the Talisman Order, wearing accessories related to the Talisman Ancestor was naturally acceptable. But if he were to wear a Death God Pendant, it wouldn't just seem strange; its very nature would be altered.

Therefore, Yang Haoran specifically reminded Wang Yiming to keep the pendant in his personal spatial storage and not to take it out unless absolutely necessary, lest it cause him negative repercussions, leading other Talisman Masters to treat him as a heretic. At that point, his traitorous accusation would be undeniably confirmed.

In truth, even without Yang Haoran's reminder, Wang Yiming would have known what to do. Yang Haoran understood this as well; he knew Wang Yiming wasn't that foolish, yet he still offered the reminder, simply to ensure Wang Yiming took the matter a bit more seriously.

Aside from reminding Wang Yiming about the Death God Pendant, Yang Haoran also specifically cautioned him about the Old Crone's death. If the higher echelons of the Talisman Order truly sent someone to investigate, they should conceal the truth if possible, but if they couldn't, then they should tell the honest truth.

Of course, this so-called "honest truth" referred solely to the Old Crone inciting one Underworld official to kill another; the fact that he had set a trap to frame the Old Crone absolutely could not be revealed.

Even if it were revealed, it wouldn't matter. Given Yang Haoran's personality, he would certainly never admit it. If they didn't come knocking, so be it, but if they did, he would definitely counter-charge, squeezing some compensation out of them. As for how to achieve that, he had it all figured out.

After Wang Yiming and Jiang Die departed, Yang Haoran also left the villa and went to the Death God Temple, where he found Old Master Wu.

He first inquired about the recent situation of the Lecheng Underworld Office. After confirming that Old Master Wu hadn't encountered any insurmountable problems for the time being, he produced two Soul Pills and handed them to Old Master Wu. One was for Old Master Wu himself, and the other was to reward his subordinate Night Watchers.

Afterward, he briefly recounted the internal strife within the Talisman Order to Old Master Wu, instructing him to pay close attention to the Talisman Order's movements in the near future. If Wang Yiming encountered any accidents or difficulties, Old Master Wu was to remember to report to him promptly using a Communication Talisman, and Yang Haoran would personally intervene to handle it.

After finishing his instructions to Old Master Wu, Yang Haoran did not return to the villa but went directly to the Ghost Cave.

The moment he stepped into the Ghost Cave, he sensed something, and his brow furrowed slightly.
