Chapter 758: Loss of Life Fluctuation

The Death God's Law Aspect was Yang Haoran's strongest technique to date, and also his last resort.

Successfully unleashing this move severely depleted the Spirit Power within his body. Although he had consumed a Soul Pill, his Spirit Power had not yet reached saturation. Forcibly employing a Ghost Art as potent as the Death God's Law Aspect was akin to overdrawing his Spirit Power.

Thus, after activating the Death God's Law Aspect, the power fluctuations emanating from his body grew weak, as his Spirit Power was almost entirely drained.

His life fluctuations became faint because his physical body had suffered severe injuries.

The backlash from the destruction of the Death God's Law Aspect had indeed inflicted considerable damage on his physical body, but the true reason for his current state of extreme weakness was the Great Spirit Caller's recent attack!

The Great Spirit Caller's previous strike, having erupted from underground, lacked a strong visual impact. However, it undoubtedly wielded immense power, as he had channeled a significant amount of his Communication Power into it – a fact evident without needing to ponder. That Yang Haoran hadn't lost his life after being directly hit was nothing short of a miracle.

Lying on the ground, Yang Haoran felt every part of his body, every inch of his flesh and blood, tormented by excruciating pain. Under the onslaught of agony, sweat poured from him like rain.

Yet, he did not cry out. Although the torment from his physical body wracked him, he refused to let out a soul-rending scream in front of the Great Spirit Caller.

Most of his protective Yin Qi had been dispersed, and the Spirit Power within his body was almost entirely depleted. Thus, only a faint wisp of black Yin Qi could be seen around him, a truly dreadful sight.

Never in his life had he suffered such grievous injuries.

Nevertheless, he did not give up, despite his dreadful physical condition. As long as he could find a way to buy himself a little time, he felt he could still stand up and prolong the struggle.

The Soul Pill within him had not been fully refined, continuously releasing a massive amount of Pure Yin Qi for him to absorb. This meant that his meager remaining Spirit Power would rapidly recover and continue to do so until the Soul Pill was completely assimilated.

Furthermore, when he fled to this great mountain, he had made a prior preparation: he had sealed and swallowed a healing Dānyào with his Spirit Power. This was to prevent a situation where, if his body were suddenly gravely injured, he wouldn't even have the strength to consume a medicinal liquid or Dānyào.

Such a situation was not impossible; on the contrary, its likelihood was extremely high. After all, the Great Spirit Caller's strength was truly formidable to him. If he took a direct hit from the opponent, even if he wasn't killed, he would be crippled.

Considering this, he had swallowed a sealed Dānyào beforehand, just in case.

His current physical condition was no different from the worst outcome he had anticipated. Having endured the Great Spirit Caller's blow, he might not have been killed, but he was indeed crippled. His entire body's bones were shattered, and he couldn't even move a single finger.

Even if his body couldn't move, he could still use his Spirit Power to guide the necessary Dānyào or medicinal liquid into his mouth. But in the current circumstances, how could the Great Spirit Caller possibly give him such an opportunity?

He had considered all these issues, which was why he had prepared a contingency beforehand. Events proved his foresight correct, as his backup plan immediately came into play.

With a single thought, the seal on the Dānyào inside him was broken. This Dānyào's effects were even better than those of medicinal liquid. Once the seal was undone, the medicinal power instantly erupted within his body, beginning to repair his already horrific physical form.

The Great Spirit Caller was unaware of these preparations Yang Haoran had made, but that did not diminish the Great Spirit Caller's determination to kill him immediately.

Seeing that Yang Haoran had inexplicably not perished under his previous blow, the Great Spirit Caller felt a surge of surprise, but also even greater fury. He felt profoundly insulted.

"You're not an ant; you're a cockroach, for your life is tenacious. But no matter how tough your life is, you must die today!"

The Great Spirit Caller spoke in a low, furious voice, his face contorting with rage. As he spoke, his body shot towards Yang Haoran, who lay on the ground. By the time his words faded, he was already before Yang Haoran, delivering a savage kick straight to his head!

Ordinarily, this Great Spirit Caller might not have chosen such a crude and barbaric method of attack. But at that moment, consumed by anger, he desired nothing more than to kill Yang Haoran to vent his rage, completely disregarding any pretense of technique or style.

Perhaps, in his subconscious, only such a crude and primitive method could truly unleash the fury within him!

Yang Haoran tried to dodge, but the medicinal effects had only just begun to surge within him, making it incredibly difficult to execute an effective evasion.

Moreover, the Great Spirit Caller's kick was simply too fast. Even if his body could move at that moment, he would absolutely not have been able to dodge it.

However, he did not give up. Just before the kick connected with his head, he mustered every last ounce of his strength and struggled!

Bang! ! !

Yang Haoran's final struggle did not allow him to successfully evade the Great Spirit Caller's kick. His body was struck, and he was sent flying like a cannonball.

The Great Spirit Caller let out a cold snort, his internal fury finally vented to some extent. To prevent a repeat of the previous scene, he moved, charging towards Yang Haoran once more.

His speed was extraordinary; the moment Yang Haoran's body landed, he too arrived at the spot where Yang Haoran had fallen.

His gaze fell upon Yang Haoran, and his brows involuntarily furrowed slightly.

His previous kick had been intended to strike Yang Haoran's head, but now he realized it hadn't hit the head at all; instead, it had landed squarely on Yang Haoran's chest.

It was then that he abruptly remembered: just as his kick was about to connect with Yang Haoran's head, Yang Haoran seemed to have struggled!

His confusion dispelled. The reason his kick had landed on Yang Haoran's chest instead of his head must have been because of that struggle!

Although it hadn't struck his head, Yang Haoran's chest was now a bloody mess, a heap of pulped flesh and shattered bones. A torrent of fresh blood continuously gushed out, soaking Yang Haoran's clothes and staining the ground crimson.

The Great Spirit Caller was not at all surprised that Yang Haoran's entire chest had been reduced to such a gruesome state. His previous kick had been an ordinary one, without much Communication Power infused into it. At the time, he was blinded by rage, only wishing to kill Yang Haoran in the fastest, most violent way possible. He hadn't bothered with anything else; it was purely a kick to vent his fury!

Though it was just an ordinary kick, it would have been enough to smash Yang Haoran's head open – a fact clearly evident from the current gruesome state of Yang Haoran's chest. The Great Spirit Caller knew this well and thus felt no surprise.

The Great Spirit Caller didn't care that he hadn't hit the head, for the anger in his heart had been successfully released.

Moreover, in his opinion, Yang Haoran had indeed been kicked to death. He could not sense any aura from Yang Haoran's body, nor even any life fluctuations.

He briefly considered whether Yang Haoran had deliberately sealed all his fluctuations, making him appear like a dead man.

However, he dismissed this possibility as almost zero. After Yang Haoran had been struck by his earlier attack, he was already barely clinging to life. Now, having been savagely kicked in the chest, with his entire chest reduced to a pile of rotten flesh and his heart likely shattered, it was impossible for him to survive. The absence of life fluctuations was simply normal.

"Extract the soul of this Yin dog! Afterwards, I will torment him properly, letting him know the consequences of enraging me. Furthermore, I am very interested in that Ground-Escaping Talisman. I want to know what kind of Talisman it is, and where he obtained it!"

A cold sneer appeared on the Great Spirit Caller's face. He had made his decision regarding Yang Haoran and issued a command to his Guardian Spirit.

During the brief period since Yang Haoran's apparent demise, the Guardian Spirit, though not having taken action or spoken, had continuously followed the Great Spirit Caller. No matter where the Great Spirit Caller went, she would immediately appear behind him, respectfully awaiting his command.

Now, as the Great Spirit Caller issued his order, she did not hesitate, immediately giving a respectful reply.

However, just as the Guardian Spirit was responding to the Great Spirit Caller, a powerful fluctuation of energy suddenly emanated from afar.

Sensing this powerful energy fluctuation, both the Great Spirit Caller and his Guardian Spirit changed expression.

"You've finally succeeded in breaking through after all. It seems the trouble I wished to avoid is now inescapable!"

The Great Spirit Caller spoke in a deep voice, a cold glint flickering in his eyes.
