Chapter 460: Feint to the East, Attack to the West

Yang Haoran didn't know much about arrays, but he was familiar with Blood Arrays. When he dealt with the Skin-Borrowing Ghost at the hospital back then, the method Child Tong of the Spirit Police had used was a Blood Array.

So, when he saw the barrier shrouding the entire Cloud Mist Mountain Manor turn blood-red, he immediately thought of the eerie, sanguine Blood Array.

No sooner had Yang Haoran's warning fallen than the space around them violently shook. Streaks of bloody energy converged before the three, and a massive, blood-red monster rapidly coalesced into form.

At that moment, all the corpses on the ground suddenly burst apart. Even the bodyguards who were still alive were assailed by a strange force; their bodies inflated as if pumped full of air, then exploded with a series of muffled bangs. Their blood and shredded flesh soared into the air, converging towards the rapidly forming blood-red monster.

At this point, Yang Haoran suddenly coughed up a mouthful of fresh blood, a sight that instantly startled both Ye Zhiqiu and Bai Xue.

Before they could even ask why, they understood the reason for Yang Haoran's sudden spewing of blood.

It was because both of them now felt a power influencing the blood within their bodies, causing it to flow backward.

A brief thought was enough to confirm that this sudden phenomenon was undoubtedly due to the influence of the blood-red barrier.

As for why Yang Haoran was coughing up blood while they weren't, it was because Yang Haoran's injuries at that moment were far more severe than theirs. Thus, as soon as this peculiar power manifested, Yang Haoran was the first to be affected.

Upon discovering the root of the problem, they immediately mobilized a portion of their strength to fortify their physical bodies, resisting this eerie power and preventing their internal blood flow from being affected.

However, this approach would accelerate the depletion of their internal power. Yet, to prevent their physical bodies from being affected, they had no choice but to do so, otherwise, they would suffer even more severe injuries.

The female demon, already heavily wounded in the distance, remained unaffected by this situation and didn't cough up blood. This, naturally, was due to the Elder Brother's deliberate intention.

This female demon was meant to be his New Year's gift, so of course, he couldn't let her die. Otherwise, who would dare accept such a gift? Therefore, after activating the Array Disk in his hand, he did not attack the female demon; his targets were Yang Haoran and his two companions.

"Big Brother Yin Officer, are you alright? " Bai Xue asked, her voice filled with worry.

Yang Haoran shook his head, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and looked at the blood-red monster ahead.

In just that short time, the blood-red monster had already fully materialized.

The monster was enormous, easily matching Bai Xue in her true form. It had the general shape of a human, but it was skinless. At a glance, one could clearly see the grotesque writhing of flesh and blood across its entire body, a sight both repulsive and terrifying.

It had no human skull or face, but instead, a massive, blood-red wolf's head. Its crimson eyes and sharp, vicious fangs constantly exuded an aura of gore, cruelty, and ferocity.

In addition, it possessed a long tail, yet this tail was hairless, as bare as its body. All that could be seen was writhing flesh and blood, along with veins of varying thickness.

The moment the monster successfully materialized, it immediately let out a savage roar at Yang Haoran and his two companions, as if venting its suppressed emotions, or perhaps intimidating them.

A little wind swept towards them, but Yang Haoran and his two companions remained unmoving. Bai Xue, too, let out a snarl, her roar full of provocation.

As Bai Xue's roar echoed, she instantly lunged at the monster without a word. Ye Zhiqiu, gripping his Demon Weapon, also began his assault on the creature.

However, Yang Haoran did not join the attack. His brow furrowed as his gaze shifted towards the Elder Brother's position.

He saw that the Elder Brother wasn't using the monster's power to immediately attack Yang Haoran and his companions. Instead, with a sweep of his hand, he unexpectedly retrieved a vast quantity of various weapons from his personal dimension.

After these weapons were retrieved from his personal dimension, they did not fall to the ground. Instead, they floated in the air around him, suspended by Star Spirit Power.

Yang Haoran was filled with doubt, unsure of what the Elder Brother intended. But as he looked closely at the retrieved weapons, he was shocked to find that they were all, without exception, Demon Weapons.

Some of these Demon Weapons bore three Demon Markings, some two, and some even just one. Although their grades varied, their quantity was immense. He roughly estimated in his mind that all the Demon Weapons combined amounted to no less than a hundred.

While Yang Haoran was shocked, he was also extremely puzzled, wondering what the Elder Brother was trying to do.

Based on his understanding of Demon Hunters, a Demon Hunter could only possess one Lifebound Demon Armament in their lifetime. Once they chose their Lifebound Demon Armament, they could not change it thereafter. If it shattered, they could only try to restore it, and if it couldn't be repaired, then in the eyes of other Demon Hunters, that person was as good as crippled.

The reason was simple: only a Lifebound Demon Armament allowed a Demon Hunter to fully unleash their strength. Other Demon Weapons, whether they were another Demon Hunter's Lifebound Demon Armament or unclaimed ones, would only allow a Demon Hunter to exert a fraction of their power, making it impossible to maximize their combat capabilities.

So, what was the Elder Brother doing by bringing out all these Demon Weapons now?

Was he going to control these Demon Weapons to fight against the three of them?

Leaving aside whether he possessed such an ability, even if he did, controlling so many Demon Weapons at once would be an enormous drain on his Star Spirit Power, and the destructive power unleashed would certainly not be great.

Instead of wasting his Star Spirit Power on this, it would be much more practical to directly control his own Lifebound Demon Armament against the enemy.

It was precisely because of these considerations that Yang Haoran truly couldn't figure out what the Elder Brother intended.

The next moment, something even more unexpected happened to Yang Haoran. The Elder Brother put away the Array Disk in his hand, his expression suddenly turned incredibly solemn, and his hands rapidly began to form seals.

As the Elder Brother began forming seals, the hundreds of Demon Weapons suspended around him vibrated in unison, as if responding to some mysterious summons.

Yang Haoran didn't know what the Elder Brother was trying to do, but he knew that if he succeeded in forming the seals, it would definitely be disadvantageous for them. So, without a second thought, he immediately launched a fierce assault.

However, the moment he controlled Remnant Moon to attack the Elder Brother, the wolf-headed monster, which had been locked in a fierce battle with Bai Xue and Ye Zhiqiu, suddenly abandoned its opponents. It flickered in front of the Elder Brother, using its massive body to block Remnant Moon for him.

Though Remnant Moon was incredibly sharp, the monster was powerful, and its physical defense was astonishing. So, this strike did not completely pierce the monster's body, but Remnant Moon did cut deeply into its flesh.

A pained roar escaped the monster's maw. It grabbed Remnant Moon, trying to pull it out, but just then, a longsword struck. Its target, however, was not the monster, but the Elder Brother behind him.

The owner of the longsword was naturally Ye Zhiqiu. The reason Ye Zhiqiu attacked the Elder Brother behind the monster, rather than the monster itself, was because he had also noticed the Elder Brother's subtle movements.

Although Yang Haoran couldn't understand what the Elder Brother was doing, as a Demon Hunter, he clearly understood. Thus, he directly abandoned his attack on the monster and focused his assault on the Elder Brother behind it.

Under Ye Zhiqiu's control, the longsword suddenly made a sharp turn just before reaching the monster, bypassing it entirely and heading towards the Elder Brother behind it.

Ye Zhiqiu couldn't perform the "wobbling gun technique" (a martial arts move), so he couldn't make bullets curve. But making his Demon Weapon change direction at high speed was well within his capabilities, and for him, it was a trivial matter, something accomplished with a mere thought.

The monster released Remnant Moon, trying to reach out and block the longsword. Just then, Bai Xue's powerful snake tail lashed fiercely at its head, sending the monster flying with a loud thud.

At this moment, Yang Haoran immediately forcefully recalled Remnant Moon. The instant Remnant Moon left the monster's body, it pulled out a spray of blood, then shot towards the Elder Brother to attack.

Concurrently, Yang Haoran rapidly channeled a large amount of Spirit Power, manifesting thick, black chains, each as thick as an arm, around the Elder Brother's body. They lunged at him, snarling and clawing.
