Chapter 280: Demon Sealing Talisman

As the wooden door slowly swung open, the interior of the wooden house gradually came into Yang Haoran's view.

The wooden house was small; even standing outside, Yang Haoran could see everything within it clearly with a single glance.

If one were to look inside with the naked eye at this moment, the scene would appear almost identical to what the streamer Happy saw last night.

Simple furniture, basic daily necessities, and that ethereal beauty of a woman. She sat before the stove, just as she had last night, adding firewood to the flames, while something bubbled and simmered in the pot.

However, Yang Haoran had not closed his Ghost Eye; it remained active, and thus, what he saw was utterly different from what the naked eye perceived.

Inside the house, there was no simple furniture, no basic daily necessities. Instead, there was ruin and cobwebs – a scene precisely like what Happy saw later on last night.

The woman was indeed sitting before the stove, stewing something, but what she held in her hand was not firewood, but white bones. As for what was stewing in the pot, Yang Haoran could not yet tell.

It was the same scene that had nearly scared the soul out of Happy last night, but as it fell upon Yang Haoran's eyes, it failed to stir any fear within him.

Not only did Yang Haoran feel no fear, but he didn't even let his smile falter, maintaining his usual gentle expression.

However, he did not step into the dilapidated house, choosing to remain standing just outside the door.

"Since you've come all this way, does the Underworld Official not have a mind to come in and sit for a while?"

The woman, still adding "firewood" to the stove, spoke to Yang Haoran with a smile.

She was already beautiful, and with that smile, it was as if the entire world lost its color.

Yang Haoran had never seen a woman of such breathtaking beauty. Before she smiled, he felt no emotional fluctuations, knowing she was a Demon, so a pretty face and perfect figure were hardly surprising. However, as the woman smiled, it still caused him to momentarily falter. Her smile was imbued with an allure that could stir the most primal desires in a man's heart.

But the current Yang Haoran was no longer the Yang Haoran of old. As his strength continuously grew, his resolve became ever firmer. After a brief moment of daze, he returned to normal, his smile still in place.

"Your smile has incredible destructive power. It's truly impressive; I almost couldn't maintain my composure," Yang Haoran said with a laugh.

His words carried a hint of flippancy, but if Yang Haoran were to close his Ghost Eye at that moment, he would undoubtedly find his gaze clear, devoid of the slightest hint of ill intent.

However, with his Ghost Eye open, his eyes were pitch black, and besides appearing eerie and frightening, it was difficult to discern any emotional fluctuations from them.

Upon hearing Yang Haoran's words, the woman's smile became even more seductive. In her view, few men could resist such charm, and her exquisite beauty was her most potent weapon. If used effectively, she might even be able to leverage the power of this Underworld Official to leave this place and regain her freedom.

She was calculating her own scheme, unaware that she had found the wrong target. This fellow, with his seemingly gentle smile, was not as simple as she imagined.

Yang Haoran was a man, a single man with normal sexual preferences. Facing such a beauty, the old him would surely have felt his heart race and his face flush. However, his current formidable strength not only brought him unwavering resolve but also a newfound confidence and composure he once lacked. Thus, even when confronted with such a stunning woman, he could remain calm.

She was not human; she was a Demon, and he knew this well. What if something happened between them and her true form turned out to be a dog?

Moreover, his heart already belonged to someone, and although nothing was set in stone, he wouldn't change his target until he had completely given up hope.

The woman was unaware of these reasons, but precisely because of them, her elaborate plan was destined to fail.

"If the Underworld Official Big Brother enjoys looking, then I shall smile more. However, if you only stand outside the house, you can merely watch me smile. You won't be able to do anything else."

The Demon's words were loaded with meaning, her tone full of playful teasing. Yang Haoran naturally understood the implied invitation, but he simply kept his smile, offering no reply. Instead, he raised his head to look at the top of the wooden door.

The top of the wooden door was covered in carved talismans. These talismans were visible not only from inside the house but also from outside.

Yang Haoran had been studying talismans for some time now. Although he still couldn't successfully draw one, he had a certain understanding of the subject, so he knew exactly what kind of talismans these were and what their purpose was.

Seeing Yang Haoran direct his gaze towards the talismans above the door, the Demon's expression remained unchanged. She wasn't surprised or worried that Yang Haoran would discover the talismans; it was as if everything was within her expectations.

"Demon Sealing Talismans, not drawn on talisman paper but carved into the wooden plank, and quite a few of them too. It seems someone intends to trap you in this dilapidated house for your entire life, preventing you from ever leaving," Yang Haoran said, retracting his gaze with a smile and looking at the Demon.

Demon Sealing Talismans are a type of talisman specifically used to suppress Demons. Such talismans have an extraordinary restraining effect on Demons, but their efficacy against other entities is rather ordinary.

However, despite being generally "ordinary," they are not something that common people can destroy or deal with. Even some capable non-ordinary individuals, if they lack sufficient strength, would be powerless against Demon Sealing Talismans, and might even be harmed by them.

And the Demon Sealing Talismans carved onto the wooden door before him were all black. This wasn't due to black ink dyed on later; rather, it was caused by the powerful strength of the Talisman Master who carved them.

In other words, these talismans were all Black Talismans!

Yet, these Black Talismans did not unleash any terrifying power fluctuations; on the contrary, the power fluctuations they emitted were very weak.

Yang Haoran didn't underestimate these Black Talismans because of this. The reason their power fluctuations weren't strong was simply that they hadn't unleashed their true power, not that they were weak.

Yang Haoran was certain that if the Demon attempted to step out of this small house, these Demon Sealing Talismans would absolutely erupt with terrifying power!

Such a large number of Black Talismans, all of them Demon Sealing Talismans, was enough to show that the impossibly beautiful Demon before him was definitely not just an ordinary small Demon.

When Yang Haoran finished speaking, the Demon felt no surprise. After all, Yang Haoran was an Emissary of Death of the Underworld Office, so it was not strange for him to recognize Demon Sealing Talismans.

However, to achieve her goal, she feigned surprise and then flattered him with a smile.

"I never expected the Underworld Official to be so knowledgeable about talismans. Men who are learned and talented are my favorite in this life."

Yang Haoran's smile remained unchanged. He didn't respond to the Demon, but instead took a step and entered the wooden house.

This action caused the Demon's smile to freeze slightly. She had thought she might have to sacrifice a bit more of her allure to lure Yang Haoran into the house, but she never expected him to simply walk right in!
