In terms of appearance, no matter how unremarkable Yang Haoran might be, he was still far more presentable than the scrawny and monkey-faced Deng Feng.
Yet, he remained single, while the scrawny and monkey-faced Deng Feng had women on both arms, a multitude of wives and concubines.
The young women before him, in both figure and face, were absolute stunners, a stark contrast to the scrawny and monkey-faced Deng Feng, as if they were beings from two different worlds.
Nevertheless, they had ended up living in this villa, becoming Deng Feng's playthings. Whether they were there willingly or out of coercion, only they knew the truth.
When Yang Haoran first visited the villa to ask Deng Feng to implant the Death God Seal, he had seen the beauties serving Deng Feng. However, he couldn't find any of them among the women present now.
Whether Deng Feng had grown tired of them and dismissed them, or if they had disappeared for other reasons, remained unknown.
Yang Haoran didn't sense any power fluctuations from these women, which meant they were ordinary mortals.
When Deng Feng was alive, he was an Emissary of Death. It wouldn't have been difficult for him to bestow extraordinary powers upon these beauties. Yet, these women were entirely normal, without any power fluctuations.
In Yang Haoran's view, the latter possibility seemed more likely.
But none of this mattered, as it had no bearing on him.
"Ladies, I'm just here to retrieve something, please don't misunderstand."
Before the young women could ask any questions, Yang Haoran spoke first. He didn't conceal anything, directly stating his purpose for coming.
"Retrieve something? Did Deng Feng send you? " A woman frowned slightly and asked Yang Haoran.
Yang Haoran went with the flow, smiling, "That's right, Deng Feng sent me."
However, as soon as he spoke, the woman immediately shouted at Yang Haoran.
"You're talking nonsense! How could he send you to get things from his home? Who exactly are you? What's your motive?"
Yang Haoran had initially adopted a mindset of bluffing his way through, so he hadn't paid much attention to his words, never expecting that this was merely a tactic from the woman.
His lie exposed, Yang Haoran didn't feel the slightest bit embarrassed. After all, in his eyes, these young women were just harmless little white rabbits with no combat ability. He didn't care if his lie was exposed.
"Truth be told, Deng Feng is dead. If you were forcibly coerced here by him, then I must congratulate you; you are free."
Yang Haoran had expected that after saying this, the young women before him would be filled with excitement and joy. However, the reality was completely the opposite of what he imagined.
Deng Feng's death, far from bringing the expected joy to these young women, instead caused their expressions to turn dejected, as if they had suddenly lost something extremely important.
"What did you say? Deng Feng is dead? " One woman looked at Yang Haoran in disbelief, asking for confirmation again.
Yang Haoran was somewhat surprised by their reactions, but he still nodded, giving them a definitive answer.
"Oh no, if he's dead, where will I get my New Beginning Coins every month?"
"What about the handbag I ordered? I promised them I'd pick it up in the next few days!"
"I was counting on him to give me money to pay off my loan! With him dead, what about my loan? Where am I going to find that much money? Isn't this clearly meant to force me to my death?"
The young women's reactions were mostly similar, which completely surprised Yang Haoran. He truly hadn't expected them to suddenly become so sorrowful, all for the sake of money, without exception.
As for how Deng Feng died, when he died, who Yang Haoran was, whether Deng Feng's death had anything to do with Yang Haoran, and so on—they didn't even ask a single question. Their minds were filled with thoughts of what they would do without Deng Feng.
They didn't even doubt the truth of Yang Haoran's words; they simply believed him.
The scene before him utterly surpassed Yang Haoran's expectations. He smiled, shaking his head, and couldn't help but sigh with emotion.
"How pathetic. " Then, looking at the women, he continued, "Ladies, don't get lost in your sorrow yet. I need to get some information from you. Can you cooperate with me?"
No one paid any attention to Yang Haoran. The women were still immersed in their respective sorrows. At that moment, Yang Haoran was like invisible air to them.
The smile on Yang Haoran's face stiffened slightly. Without any visible movement from him, several palms formed from Spirit Power suddenly appeared, grabbing the necks of the young women.
The women, who had been engrossed in their grief, instantly changed expression as their necks were grabbed. Before they could panic, their bodies were forcibly lifted by the palms.
Terror showed on their faces as they struggled fiercely in the air, trying to break free from the palms' grip. But the more they struggled, the tighter the grip became, as if it intended to choke them to death.
"I didn't want to make a move on you, but I couldn't resist in the end. I'm here to raid this estate. Can you at least show me a little respect?"
Yang Haoran watched the women struggling violently in the air, his smile undiminished, his tone as gentle as ever.
But when his words reached the ears of the women present, they felt no gentleness at all; instead, their entire bodies were filled with a chilling dread.
As the grip tightened, the women began to gasp for breath. Their faces turned beet red, and it looked like they wouldn't last much longer.
Seeing that the women were truly on the verge of collapsing, Yang Haoran smiled and snapped his fingers. The palms formed from Spirit Power dissipated and vanished, and the women's delicate bodies fell from the air, landing on the floor.
The fall was quite harsh on these delicate beauties, but they had no mind to care about that. All of them looked at Yang Haoran in terror, then frantically retreated and curled up in the corner, trying to put as much distance as possible between themselves and this seemingly harmless man.
"Please don't hurt us. If you want to rob us of our wealth, take whatever you like in this villa. If you want to take our bodies, we can satisfy you just the same, only we hope you'll spare us."
One woman spoke to Yang Haoran in fright. Although the other women didn't speak, it was clear from their fearful eyes that even if Yang Haoran intended to take their bodies, they wouldn't refuse.
Though they possessed no special abilities, their expressions and reactions indicated that they must have witnessed Deng Feng's extraordinary powers firsthand.
Therefore, when they discovered Yang Haoran also possessed such power, their first thought was to submit rather than resist.
"I've already stated my purpose. I need some information from you. " Yang Haoran said with a gentle smile.
That gentle smile sent a simultaneous shiver down the women's spines.
"No problem, no problem! Anything you want to know, we'll definitely tell you, as long as we know it!"
One woman quickly promised, and the others hurriedly nodded in terror.
"I want to know where Deng Feng's frequented places are in this villa," Yang Haoran said with a smile.
"Frequented places?"
The women exchanged glances, finally looking at one particular woman—none other than the one who had been screaming loudly and wearing a bathrobe earlier.
Seeing everyone's gaze on her, the woman's expression turned flustered, too scared to speak for a moment.
Yang Haoran's eyebrow twitched slightly. Looking at the woman, he subconsciously wondered if she held some secret.
"She was the most favored. Deng Feng's most frequented place was usually her room."
One woman's explanation caused Yang Haoran's mouth to twitch. He had thought the woman might be hiding some secret, but he only got this one sentence.
And the bathrobe beauty played along well. She hesitated for a moment, then bit her lip and shakily got up from the corner, stammering, "I. . . I. . . that. . . I haven't been feeling well recently. If you really want it, I. . ."
As she spoke, the woman reached out to untie her bathrobe.
Yang Haoran's face changed, and he quickly spoke to stop her:
"No, no, no, I don't want it! I've been pretty lucky lately! I don't want to fall into great misfortune because of this!"
The bathrobe woman was stunned but still stopped untying her bathrobe.
Seeing this, Yang Haoran finally breathed a sigh of relief and spoke to all the women: "While I still have my sanity, please don't torment me anymore, or I don't know what I might do. Perhaps I expressed myself incorrectly just now, so let me re-explain. What I want to know is, is there any place in this villa that Deng Feng particularly valued? For example, a collection room for valuables, or a safe, or a forbidden area that you're not allowed to enter? Does such a place exist?"
This time, Yang Haoran explained in great detail. If the women still beat around the bush and talked nonsense, it would mean they had been treating Yang Haoran like a monkey all along, and their displayed fear was merely a trick to fool him.
However, that scene didn't occur. The terror on the women's faces remained. One of them stood up and quickly spoke to Yang Haoran, "Yes, yes, there is such a place! This villa truly has a forbidden area; Deng Feng absolutely forbids us from approaching it!"
