Chapter 194: Death God's Law Aspect

When Zhong Siyu spoke these words, she had expected Deng Feng's expression to drastically change. However, the scene she imagined never materialized; instead, Deng Feng merely gave a cold smile.

"Although I don't know what other trump cards you've prepared, I can tell you with absolute certainty that they are useless, because I won't give you that chance at all."

As these words were uttered, a ruthless glint appeared in Deng Feng's eyes. Then, a furious roar burst from his lips: "Death God Seal, manifest!"

As this furious roar echoed, the Death God Seal on Deng Feng's brow emerged, radiating black Yin Qi, visible to the naked eye.

Simultaneously, the space above Zhong Siyu's head violently rippled, and then, a colossal Death God statue abruptly materialized.

Though this Death God statue was massive, it was incredibly illusory, appearing even more insubstantial than Zhong Siyu's spirit body at that moment. Yet, it was this seemingly utterly unreal Death God statue that caused Zhong Siyu's expression to change drastically.

"Death God's Law Aspect! How could you possibly summon the Death God's Law Aspect? !"

Zhong Siyu had always exuded an air of morbid madness, but at this very moment, the frenzy and ferocity on her face vanished, replaced by an expression of utter shock. This clearly demonstrated the immense impact the appearance of the Death God's Law Aspect had inflicted upon her.

Shocked as she was, Zhong Siyu's reaction speed proved incredibly swift. Her first thought was to escape—not necessarily to successfully flee the area entirely, but at least to escape the Death God's Law Aspect's expansive reach.

However, Deng Feng's reaction was even swifter than hers.

"Seal!"

As Deng Feng uttered the word "Seal," the Death God's Law Aspect's three eyes, which had been tightly shut, simultaneously sprang open.

Buzz—

A buzzing hum resonated through the space. The Death God's Law Aspect had merely opened its eyes, making no other movement, yet Zhong Siyu found her spirit body bound by an immense power, unable to move or disperse.

Meanwhile, Deng Feng spat out a mouthful of fresh blood. His face, already utterly drained of color, now displayed an extremely feeble aura. Although he had successfully summoned the Death God's Law Aspect, it seemed to have exacted a tremendous toll on him.

Nevertheless, seeing Zhong Siyu confined beneath the Death God's Law Aspect, unable to stir an inch, a triumphant smile involuntarily spread across his face.

"My strength has long surpassed your imagination. What's so strange about being able to summon the Death God's Law Aspect? You underestimated not only my strength but also Du Da's. He isn't as weak as you think. If not for the fierce battle we had recently, where both of us were heavily injured, tonight's operation wouldn't have been nearing its end so quickly."

As he spoke, Deng Feng spat out another mouthful of fresh blood, and his complexion withered considerably.

"With my current strength, I can still forcibly condense another Yin Thunder. However, judging from the current situation, one Yin Thunder will be enough!"

Deng Feng mused to himself, then gritted his teeth, forcibly enduring the wave of weakness that assailed his body. He compelled a large amount of Spirit Power into the main array flag before him.

As the Spirit Power was injected, the array below once again blazed with light, and black electrical arcs violently leaped and crackled in response.

Zhong Siyu's expression changed drastically upon witnessing this scene. She, of course, knew what Deng Feng intended to do.

She wanted to utter something, but before she could open her mouth, a thunderous boom erupted. A black lightning bolt, as thick as a bucket, streaked from below upwards, chopping directly towards her spirit body.

No accidents occurred; this Yin Thunder accurately struck Zhong Siyu.

A painful shriek ripped from Zhong Siyu's lips. Struck by this Yin Thunder, her spirit body immediately became even more ethereal, looking barely distinguishable from an ordinary Wánglíng.

Deng Feng was no better off; his faint aura was almost imperceptible. If an ordinary person were in his state, they could already directly order their coffin.

The main array flag before him ceased emitting Yin Qi, returning to its original state. The light from the array below also faded, and no black electrical arcs crackled anymore.

The entire Yin Thunder Array reverted to its initial state; apart from releasing a deceptive light curtain, it displayed no other peculiar features.

Deng Feng gasped for several ragged breaths, then glanced at Du Da on the ground, whose aura was utterly gone. He then looked at Zhong Siyu, who was confined by the Death God's Law Aspect and too weak to even utter a word. A profoundly relieved smile involuntarily spread across his face.

"The final victory, in the end, still belongs to me. After planning for so many years, it's finally time for harvest!"

Deng Feng wore a smile as he turned his gaze towards Yang Haoran and the other Night Watchers.

Under Deng Feng's gaze, the surviving Night Watchers couldn't help but inwardly tremble. Deng Feng's smile, his eyes—everything about him revealed something deeply amiss. It wasn't like looking at people; it was more like looking at mere objects.

Deng Feng had brought them all out tonight, and they had assumed it was to deal with Zhong Siyu within the Ghost Building, hence the massive mobilization.

However, upon arriving here, they gradually realized that a strange, unsettling aura permeated everything about this matter.

First, Deng Feng had actually personally torn open space to retrieve several Death God Temple keepers from the countryside—an unprecedented occurrence. In their eyes, Deng Feng, as the Emissary of Death, would never have been so courteous to Night Watchers like them.

Secondly, they knew too many things they shouldn't have known, yet Deng Feng didn't seem to care, as if their knowledge or ignorance made little difference to him. This, too, was abnormal.

Most importantly, they were here tonight to execute a mission. Logically, no matter what happened, it should have been them, the subordinates, leading the charge. The Emissary of Death would never make a move unless absolutely necessary.

Yet, the reality was quite the opposite. Not only did Deng Feng not send them as cannon fodder to their deaths, but he protected them like children, shouldering the entire burden himself.

This, above all, was the most abnormal.

If they weren't to be of any use, then why had they been brought here tonight?

To bring them here and protect them so meticulously could only mean there was another unspeakable secret involved.

Deng Feng's current expression and reaction towards them fully indicated that he harbored other intentions for them.

"None of you should blame yourselves for being useless, because truly, tonight, you are the most crucial presences. Without you, all my years of preparation would have gone to waste."

Deng Feng uttered words that left the Night Watchers present utterly bewildered.

Du Da was dead, and the Blood-Clad Evil Spirit was also controlled, weakened like a child. By all appearances, tonight's operation was already nearing its end. What major task could possibly still be left undone?

Could it be that he wanted them to clean up the battlefield?

But was cleaning up a battlefield truly considered a major task?

They didn't feel they were crucial in any way. It was precisely because of this that Deng Feng's words utterly bewildered them.

Although the Night Watchers present didn't know what crucial role Deng Feng was referring to, they all shared the same thought: whatever this crucial role Deng Feng spoke of was, it certainly wouldn't be anything good for them.

Gazing at the bewildered crowd, Deng Feng offered a strange smile, then his eyes drifted towards the Night Watchers' corpses below.

Under the astonished gaze of the Night Watchers, Deng Feng pointed at one of the Night Watchers' corpses from a distance. The Death God Seal on this Night Watcher's brow emerged, then slowly detached itself from the person's forehead, hovering in the air above the corpse.

If it were just this, it would be acceptable. After all, the Death God Seal was a Spirit Power Seed planted by Deng Feng. Now that the person was dead, there was nothing strange about him reclaiming the Spirit Power Seed he had sown.

But what truly astonished them was not this point. After the Death God Seal was extracted, it didn't immediately return to Deng Feng's hand. Instead, it hovered in the air above the Night Watcher's corpse, and then a surge of Yin Qi erupted from the Death God Seal, merging into the corpse below.

Within just a few breaths, this Night Watcher's soul was astonishingly condensed into a Spirit and forcibly extracted, then integrated into the Death God Seal hovering above.

Rather than merging, it was more like being forcibly devoured by the Death God Seal.

As this Night Watcher's soul was absorbed by the Death God Seal, the Yin Qi emanating from the Death God Seal also underwent a change; within the black, faint traces of blood-red now appeared.

Deng Feng did not stop. Instead, he continued to point at the Night Watchers' corpses below from a distance, and the previous scene replayed itself again and again.
