Chapter 1284 The Last Fight

The Yellow Fox let out a deafening, bloodthirsty beastial roar. It was unclear whether it had sensed Yang Haoran's gaze or if it was under Shi Weihan's control, but the Yellow Fox turned its head, fixing its eyes on Yang Haoran's position.

Their gazes met. Yang Haoran's eyes were calm, while the Yellow Fox's were bloodthirsty. Immediately, the Yellow Fox opened its mouth and spat, and a thick, grey beam of light shot forth, blasting towards Yang Haoran.

Yang Haoran had originally intended to manipulate Remnant Moon to attack one of the Golden Corpses. This particular Golden Corpse was the most heavily wounded of the three, naturally making it the easiest to eliminate. However, the sudden assault from the Yellow Fox forced him to temporarily abandon that idea. Remnant Moon, which had been poised to strike the Golden Corpse, spun violently, instantly expanding in size. It positioned itself before him like an impenetrable wall, blocking the beam of light spat out by the Yellow Fox.

Boom!

!

The powerful impact forced Remnant Moon back a few steps, but the grey beam's strength was limited; after pushing Remnant Moon back a short distance, it dissipated completely.

However, that grey beam was only the beginning of the Yellow Fox's assault. As the first beam dissipated, one after another, more grey beams incessantly shot forth from the Yellow Fox's mouth, as if their continuous emission consumed none of its power.

While a single grey beam was indeed nothing to Yang Haoran, the continuous, incessant barrage of grey beams would undoubtedly cause him some trouble. After all, while dealing with these beams, he also had to withstand the ceaseless attacks of the three Golden Corpses.

Nevertheless, for Yang Haoran, this was merely a minor annoyance; it was far from rendering him helpless.

After blocking the Yellow Fox's consecutive grey beams, Yang Haoran simply applied a shield to himself. This was no ordinary, casually formed shield; rather, it was a powerful protective barrier condensed through the activation of advanced Ghost Art, its defensive capabilities utterly incomparable to a rudimentary one.

Having successfully manifested a powerful shield, Yang Haoran no longer bothered with the fierce onslaught from the three Golden Corpses, nor did he pay any mind to the grey beams spewing from the Yellow Fox. He temporarily abandoned defense and chose to attack. His target was none other than Shi Weihan himself, the mastermind controlling these zombies!

Shi Weihan was no ordinary individual either. He seemed to have long anticipated that Yang Haoran would certainly find a way to strike at him, creating an opportunity even if none existed. Thus, he must have prepared for this in advance. The moment Yang Haoran activated his shield, the Yellow Fox, which had been continuously spewing grey beams, abruptly ceased. It sprang forward, its massive, mountain-like body lunging directly towards Yang Haoran!

At the same time, Shi Weihan also activated his own shield. In fact, he didn't just activate one; he raised three shields in one go. One shield was condensed from the power within his body. He knew that a shield directly condensed from raw power had limited defensive capabilities, so he placed this one on the innermost layer.

The second and third layers of shields were condensed from the power of talismans. The second layer was a fire shield formed by talismans; this shield was not only fiery red in color but also had a faint layer of flames burning on its surface.

. . . . The third layer, on the other hand, was an earth shield formed by talismans. This shield appeared earthy yellow. While it didn't look as flashy as the second layer's fire shield, lacking flames burning on its surface, its defensive capabilities were undoubtedly more astonishing on the outermost layer. Otherwise, Shi Weihan wouldn't have placed it there.

Although Shi Weihan still harbored fury in his heart, it was significantly less intense than when the enchanting woman had just died tragically at Yang Haoran's hands. Before, he had lost all reason due to his rage; now, he had emerged from that blind fury. While his mind wasn't entirely clear, he had at least regained a degree of rationality. The reason for this shift was the formidable strength Yang Haoran had displayed.

After truly engaging Yang Haoran in combat, Shi Weihan discovered that Yang Haoran's strength was far more terrifying than he had imagined. Yang Haoran hadn't sustained even a minor injury up to this point. Furthermore, based on his observations, Shi Weihan reached a conclusion he himself was unwilling to believe: Yang Haoran hadn't even used his full strength yet. If Yang Haoran truly had, how could he remain completely unscathed?

Moreover, after the Yellow Fox's successful Corpse Transformation, it immediately launched a long-range attack on Yang Haoran under Shi Weihan's control. The three Golden Corpses, also under his command, initiated fierce close-quarters assaults on Yang Haoran. Both the transformed Yellow Fox and the three Golden Corpses, which had begun their furious offensive from the start, were being controlled by him alone. It was precisely this singular control that allowed him to perfectly coordinate their attacks.

Yet, even with his flawless coordination of the Yellow Fox's and the three Golden Corpses' attacks, he still hadn't inflicted the slightest injury on Yang Haoran. Reason told him that someone exerting their full power could not possibly achieve this, but reality was difficult for him to accept, something he refused to believe.

As for why he didn't abandon his attack on Yang Haoran and flee for his life, there were two reasons, besides his unwillingness to believe that Yang Haoran hadn't used his full strength.

The first reason was that although his three Golden Corpses had sustained considerable injuries, they hadn't completely lost their fighting capability. And the transformed Yellow Fox, despite consuming a good deal of power by continuously spewing grey beams, still possessed formidable combat strength. Until the very last moment, no one could say who would win or lose!

The second reason was that he still had a hidden card up his sleeve, and that card was the grand array enveloping this entire area.

This grand array was a treasure he had acquired after expending considerable effort. For something to be deemed worthy by him, the Door Master of the Corpse Sect, it certainly wouldn't be mere trash. Moreover, his willingness to pay a high price for this set of formation flags indicated that they were undoubtedly extraordinary.

Indeed, this set of formation flags was a rare and top-grade artifact. Not only did it possess powerful defensive capabilities, but its offensive methods were also exceedingly formidable. Otherwise, he would never have held even the slightest hope for this set of formation flags at this moment!

However, his belief that this supreme set of formation flags was incredibly powerful and capable of inflicting a fatal blow on Yang Haoran was merely his unilateral assumption.

Although Shi Weihan felt that he wasn't yet at the point of fleeing from Yang Haoran, Yang Haoran's displayed strength still made him extremely apprehensive. This was precisely why he had consecutively deployed three shields around himself. If it weren't for his apprehension and fear, he wouldn't have needed to go to such lengths.

. . . . “You little brat! Tonight, this Door Master will see just how capable you truly are!

!”

Despite his inner apprehension towards Yang Haoran, Shi Weihan showed not a shred of weakness in his words. He didn't even betray the slightest hint of his inner fear of Yang Haoran. His current furious roar was, on one hand, an attempt to overwhelm Yang Haoran with sheer momentum, and on the other, to embolden himself!

As the furious roar echoed, Shi Weihan flipped his hand and produced an Array Disk. He retrieved the Array Disk at this moment because he intended to use the grand array of this place, in conjunction with the attacks of the three Golden Corpses and the Yellow Fox, to deliver a fatal blow to Yang Haoran.

He hadn't done this before, partly because of his overconfidence, believing there was no need to activate the formation. With three Golden Corpses and the Yellow Fox, whose strength was also considerable, he felt he could easily deal with Yang Haoran.

The other reason was that he needed to concentrate all his efforts on controlling the three Golden Corpses and the Yellow Fox, leaving no room for other distractions. After all, simultaneously controlling four Corpse King-level zombies was extremely mentally taxing and placed a heavy burden on himself. If possible, he naturally wouldn't want to do so. This was also why he himself hadn't attacked Yang Haoran while the three Golden Corpses and the Yellow Fox were assaulting him.

However, the situation was different now. He had witnessed Yang Haoran's formidable power, and he himself was nearing the end of his rope. Naturally, he couldn't afford to care about such trivialities anymore. Even if it meant exhausting his mental energy and suffering lingering side effects, he had to do it now!

Yet, just as Shi Weihan's furious roar subsided and he had just retrieved the Array Disk from his spatial dimension, the black light of Remnant Moon tore through the air towards him, arriving before him in the blink of an eye!
