Chapter 1273: One Against Ten Thousand

Just as the Corpse Driving Sect's reinforcements for the Night Watchers arrived, Zhong Siyu happened to toss the last Night Watcher's corpse away like trash. This scene naturally fell into the eyes of the arriving Corpse Driving Sect members.

Although all the targets of their reinforcement were dead, not a single member of the arriving Corpse Driving Sect left. They knew perfectly well that coming here to support the Night Watchers was merely a secondary objective; their primary mission was to eliminate Zhong Siyu, this Ghost King. Therefore, even with the complete annihilation of the Night Watchers, not one of them departed, nor did they feel any heartbreak.

Of course, they also showed no fear, for they were numerous and powerful, each of them formidable. Their opponent was merely a Ghost King, so they truly found no reason to be afraid.

"Haha, hahahaha, you've arrived at just the right time. Although I'm not yet full, there are no more Night Watchers for me to devour. So, why don't we just play a game next? How about a cruel and twisted game of dismemberment?"

Zhong Siyu cackled with a sickly smile. As she finished speaking, the morbid grin on her face grew even more terrifying and spine-chilling.

"Arrogant! After painstakingly cultivating to the Ghost King realm and reshaping your physical body, you still don't know how to restrain yourself. Today, I'll let you experience the agony of death once more and utterly turn you into Soul Transformation!"

A high-ranking member of the Corpse Driving Sect snarled at Zhong Siyu, his gaze fixed on her as if she were already dead. Yet, upon hearing this, Zhong Siyu didn't grow angry; instead, she laughed.

"Hahahaha, hahahahahaha, make me Soul Transformation? Alright, but you'll have to try harder, or else before I'm Soul Transformation, you'll all be dismembered by me."

As Zhong Siyu's words echoed, her form began to change. Her pure white short dress rapidly shifted to a blood-red hue. By the time her voice faded, her entire being had completely transformed into a ferocious Blood-Clad figure, and the sickly smile on her face had contorted into a wild, savage sneer.

The most significant change, however, was the formidable power emanating from within Zhong Siyu. Compared to before her transformation, the power fluctuations she now released had ascended to an entirely different level.

Witnessing Zhong Siyu's successful transformation into her Blood-Clad state, every member of the Corpse Driving Sect present paled in unison. Those who had been brimming with confidence just moments ago now wore expressions ranging from serene to solemn, from disdainful to panicked, with some even openly displaying fear.

Clearly, they all understood what a Blood-Clad ghost signified. It was a veritable meat grinder among spectral entities, and a Blood-Clad like Zhong Siyu, who had reached the Ghost King realm, possessed even more terrifying strength. Setting aside the legends surrounding Blood-Clad beings, the sheer magnitude of the power fluctuations Zhong Siyu now unleashed was enough to instill despair in many of them.

Before Zhong Siyu transformed into her Blood-Clad form, the power she emitted, though strong, was still within their acceptable and tolerable limits. They had also believed that through their combined efforts, Zhong Siyu, this Ghost King, would be utterly crushed, with no chance of survival. However, such notions had now completely vanished from their minds.

....

"Everyone, do not be careless! This Ghost King has evolved from a Blood-Clad, making her several times more formidable than an ordinary Ghost King. We must not underestimate her! Quickly release all the zombies you've cultivated and confront this Ghost King with all your might!"

Among the Corpse Driving Sect members, there were intelligent individuals, insightful ones, and, naturally, those willing to step forward and take charge in a crucial moment. The one who spoke now was such a person, ready to lead at this critical juncture.

The reason he was willing to proactively take charge in such a pivotal moment might have been for the sake of the bigger picture, to successfully slay Zhong Siyu and secure victory for the Corpse Driving Sect. Or perhaps, it was for personal reasons, his sole aim being to preserve his own life, which compelled him to urge everyone not to fear Zhong Siyu and to unite their efforts in a full-force battle.

The others present were not fools; they knew that facing a Blood-Clad Ghost King meant no room for carelessness and that they had to unleash their full power. Thus, everyone began to retrieve the zombies they had cultivated for years. In an instant, the area was swarming with coffins, appearing in a myriad of strange and special ways, each different from the last. Some coffins burst directly from the ground, standing upright like unique, stubby pillars. Others materialized out of thin air, as if pulled from an independent dimension. Still others offered up a palm-sized leather pouch that, though seemingly ordinary and incapable of holding anything, continuously spewed forth more than a dozen coffins.

Beyond these methods of retrieving coffins, there were other unconventional means as well; truly, all sorts of strange and bizarre techniques were on display.

Although the methods employed by the Corpse Driving Sect members to retrieve their coffins varied, one thing remained consistent: without exception, these coffins all contained zombies, specifically those they had personally cultivated.

There are distinctions among zombies, differences that include but are not limited to their realms. The Corpse Driving Sect's zombies can be broadly categorized into two types: those cultivated by a master, and those that evolved independently without a master. The latter are all Corpse King realm zombies, possessing their own independent consciousness and, unlike the former, are not constrained by a master. Consequently, they can even hold important positions within the Corpse Driving Sect.

The zombies released by the Corpse Driving Sect members, though vast in number, were without exception all personally cultivated. If they were truly unmastered Corpse Kings, they would not, under normal circumstances, willingly lie in coffins and be at anyone's beck and call.

Mastered Corpse Kings, however, are different. Due to vested interests, emotional ties, or being bound by special secret arts to their masters, they will, even if unwilling, lie inside their coffins at their master's command.

Among the zombies released by the Corpse Driving Sect members at this moment, there were indeed Corpse King-level zombies. However, their numbers were extremely small, consisting only of the few rare magnates within the sect who had expended vast sums to successfully cultivate such powerful aids.

The sounds of coffin lids either bursting open or sliding off were incessant. Masses of zombies, like ferocious ghosts unleashed, surged from their coffins. Instantly, a monstrous Corpse Qi permeated the area, as they let out savage roars under their masters' commands, bringing with them a nauseating stench, and lunged towards Zhong Siyu.

....

Zombies' bodies were hard as iron, their sharp claws capable of slicing through metal like mud, and a single bite from their fangs could instantly sever a person's neck. Although they understood no profound arts, their destructive power was in no way diminished by this fact. Close-quarters combat was their forte; their bodies were their greatest weapons. Therefore, upon receiving their masters' commands, they all, without exception, charged towards Zhong Siyu, for only by approaching her could they launch an effective assault!

If anyone were positioned directly above Zhong Siyu at that moment, they would witness an utterly spectacular scene: dense masses of zombies rapidly converging on Zhong Siyu from all directions. Some sprinted upright, others ran on all fours like wild beasts, and still others cleared obstacles with powerful leaps, swiftly closing in on Zhong Siyu. As they charged and roared, the ground beneath them trembled, and vast clouds of dust billowed into the air.

While the zombies were in action, their masters were not idle. Since they were unleashing their full power to strike at Zhong Siyu, this Blood-Clad Ghost King, how could the Corpse Driving Sect members possibly stand by and watch the show? Moreover, knowing full well the terrifying might of a Blood-Clad Ghost King, they dared not be idle spectators. Some formed hand seals and cast spells, aiming to strike Zhong Siyu from afar. Others closely followed behind their cultivated zombies, using them as shields to rapidly approach Zhong Siyu, and in the process, retrieved their weapons from independent dimensions. These weapons were all meant for close-quarters combat, which was precisely why they chose to get close to Zhong Siyu – because close combat was their specialty.

The scene unfolding before them was like thousands of troops charging across a battlefield, delivering an incredibly powerful visual impact!

However, one side of the engagement comprised thousands of troops, while the other was a single individual, creating an extremely stark contrast. Yet, this extreme disparity did not diminish the profound shock the scene imparted; instead, it amplified that shock severalfold, imbuing the spectacle with an even greater visual impact!
