Chapter 693: Shattering Star River

The Solar Star Spirit, after merging in its Calamity Mode, and Bai Mo, who had transformed into his blackbody form, equally capable of devouring all light and heat, had become two clumps of super cancer cells within the Sun.

Every second, over five hundred thousand tons of matter were plundered by them, and this number continuously increased with their proliferation.

For the Sun, which lost four million tons of mass per second through nuclear fusion, this was no longer a negligible figure.

"You are strong." Since the battle erupted, the Star Spirit spoke for the first time.

"Oh?" Bai Mo was a little curious. What state exactly was the opponent in?

Before this, the four Great Star Spirits had shown no inclination to communicate whatsoever, maintaining absolute silence. Why, then, did they finally speak after merging?

"Are you wondering?"

"After merging, you seem to have become much more rational."

The impression the several Chief Star Spirits had given Bai Mo just moments ago was that they possessed destructive power, but their intellect was not well-developed, making them akin to beasts with a hint of intelligence.

Their combat instincts might not be inferior to highly intelligent lifeforms of the same tier, but they would find it difficult to establish an advanced civilization.

In other words, they were adept at destruction, but not at creation.

But this clump of "cancer cell" grapes was different. Bai Mo could sense that it belonged to a higher intelligent lifeform, capable not only of communication but also of cooperation.

"We Star Spirits are inherently like this. We can stack our rationality through the merging of our kin."

After releasing the killing intent that surged upon its recent merger, this merged Star Spirit became exceedingly courteous, showing none of its previous madness.

"My name is Yi. I am the merged consciousness of the Four Ancestors."

The Four Ancestors refer to the four Great Star Spirits.

"Bai, the Star Devourer." Bai Mo made no secret of his covetousness for the Sun. This was a crucial step in his subsequent plans.

Most of the matter in the Solar System had already converged upon the Sun. He needed a massive amount of matter to complete his next stage of metamorphosis.

As for stars outside the Solar System, they were too far from Bai Mo. The four-light-year distance to Sagittarius would take him over a hundred years to traverse, even advancing tirelessly at his current speed. He couldn't afford to waste that time.

"If that's the case, we can only fight."

For the Solar Star Spirits, the Sun was their homeland, their very means of survival. Other places in the Solar System were too cold for them. Most Star Spirits simply could not survive long-term in environments below ten thousand degrees Celsius.

Bai Mo's desire to completely devour the Sun was undoubtedly equivalent to sentencing them to death.

"Fist of Paradise!"

From the endless darkness that Bai Mo had transformed into, hundreds and thousands of pure white fists emerged.

These fists carried his terrifying martial will, surging like a tsunami towards the merged Star Spirit, Yi.

However, a mere tsunami could not describe this 'Fist of Paradise' technique. It was merely a sneeze on the surface of a planet. How could it be compared to a move capable of destroying the planet itself?

Each fist was comparable in diameter to a colossal city. If one were to strike Earth, it would be an extinction-level attack, akin to the one that wiped out the dinosaurs.

"Muda muda! Don't you understand? Physical attacks are meaningless to me!"

Yi remained perfectly still, enduring Bai Mo's attack head-on.

Its ability was to completely convert mass into energy, devouring all tangible matter and transforming it into pure light and heat.

However much mass it absorbed, Yi could correspondingly convert that into energy.

Thousands of fists stirred up a monstrous storm within the Sun. Each one was a super fist equivalent in mass to a Federation space carrier.

The sheer mass output of Bai Mo's "Thousand Fists" alone was equivalent to launching a small asteroid.

When such an astonishing mass was instantly devoured and converted by Yi, it was nothing short of an apocalypse.

It was like igniting another sun within the heart of the Sun!

Even the Sun produced nuclear fusion within its vast core, but the collision between Bai Mo's fists and the merged Star Spirit occurred within a confined space.

"How much more until it reaches the temperature of the universe one second after the Big Bang?" Facing this 'sun within the Sun', Bai Mo suddenly pondered this question.

...

"Ah! My eyes!"

"Super-energetic reactions are coming from the Sun!"

"Suspected supernova outburst!"

"Lower-tier observers, be advised to protect your eyesight!"

The Federation Intelligence Bureau was in utter chaos at this moment. The Sun's brightness had suddenly increased more than tenfold compared to normal, literally startling everyone.

Fortunately, the ordinary populace of the Federation had already fully relocated to the Great Thousand Flagship years ago. What they usually saw was an artificial mini-sun packaged by nuclear fusion reactors.

Otherwise, an abrupt tenfold increase in the original Sun's brightness like this would likely cause immense panic.

...

Flagship Twelve, Xuan Tian Sword Sect.

This Great Thousand Flagship, along with the hundreds of millions residing within it, was almost entirely controlled and managed by the Xuan Tian Sword Sect within the Federation. It was currently docked near the Solar System's asteroid belt.

This was a colossal sect primarily composed of sword cultivators. Its founder, and currently the Xuan Tian Sword Sect's sole Grand Elder, was none other than Wen Jian, a former high-ranking official of the Hua-Ya Federation from many years ago.

"The time is almost here, just a little bit more." He sat upright atop the Sword Mountain, cradling a long sword in his hands as he gazed towards the Sun.

Having long since reached the peak of the Sixth Tier, he had remained on this Sword Mountain for over twenty years in search of that elusive feeling of ascending to immortality, yet he always felt something was missing.

His opportunity seemed to lie with the Sun.

...

"Heaven!"

"Xuan!"

"Reverse!"

"Counter!"

Bai Mo expended nearly all his strength, constraining the boundless light and heat erupted from Yi's mass-energy conversion within an extremely narrow fan-shaped area. Then, with sheer force, he made it form a sword of pure rays, a blade without end, slicing towards the merged Star Spirit, which believed itself immune to attacks.

The Fist of Paradise itself was merely a primer, utilizing Yi's ability to first convert mass into energy, and then attack with that energy. This was the main course.

The Reverse-Rebel Sword, imbued with Bai Mo's martial will, could directly attempt to destroy Yi's physical structure, slicing apart each of its "grapes" and blasting them into oblivion!

The Reverse-Rebel Sword effortlessly sliced Yi in half, turning it into blazing fire, inflicting what seemed like a not-so-serious wound.

At their level, even having their bodies diced into small pieces would not be considered a severe injury.

"Escaped?"

After that single sword strike, Bai Mo now discovered that the Xuan-Tian Reverse-Rebel Sword, which he had constrained with his psionic power and martial will, its blade almost entirely composed of energy, had actually flown out of the Sun due to its momentum...

...

"It's here."

Wen Jian, atop the Sword Mountain, suddenly had an epiphany.

Flying out from the Sun's surface, the Xuan-Tian Sword's body, streaking past like a meteor, coincidentally, or perhaps inevitably, collided with the Solar System's asteroid belt.

Shattered!

Melted!

Vaporized!

The asteroid belt, which originally served as a dividing zone between the inner and outer Solar System, was forcefully erased by one-sixth due to the collapse of the Xuan-Tian Reverse-Rebel Sword, with another sixth of the nearby asteroids pulverized into interstellar dust.

"Ten years for one sword, chanting again, tears stream."

Wen Jian, who had witnessed this entire scene from the foremost front line, burst into song. Then, with a sword technique, he tore open the void, and, one man and one sword, walked towards his Reincarnation Tribulation.

"Finger Sword—Shattering Star River."

Later generations recorded: "The Grand Ancestor, moved by the destruction of the star river, then used 'Finger Sword—Shattering Star River' as his ultimate killing technique, creating the Great Destruction Sword Art. When the art was perfected, he ascended to heaven in broad daylight, his whereabouts untraceable."
