Chapter 70: Luo Yi and De Bu Luo Yi
"Just punch through it, and all problems will be solved."
After learning this, Bai Mo instantly controlled De Bu Luo Yi's skeletal muscles responsible for body movement using his psionic ability, and then his divine sense also began to meticulously probe De Bu Luo Yi's internal bodily structure through the opening.

Unfortunately, De Bu Luo Yi hadn't fainted yet. He felt an intense pain in his abdomen, and with a horrified glance from the corner of his eye, he saw Bai Mo's fist embedded in the wound. What was most terrifying was that although he was still conscious, he had lost control of almost his entire body—his limbs and torso—except for a small part of his head.
However, Bai Mo paid no mind to De Bu Luo Yi's expression at that moment; no one conducting an experiment would consider the thoughts of their experimental material.
Thus, he kept one hand in De Bu Luo Yi's wound to maintain psionic control and divine sense perception, while using his other hand, along with the experimental equipment from his suitcase, to take samples of De Bu Luo Yi's "unlocked gene" cells.
Less than two minutes later, De Bu Luo Yi's unlocked state reverted due to excessive energy consumption. Feeling his surged power recede and having completely lost bodily control, becoming a puppet to fate, De Bu Luo Yi's face turned ashen.
While the unlocked state hadn't completely faded, he quickly collected the samples.
After moving his fist in and out several times, Bai Mo also deduced some patterns.
"The larger the contact area, or rather, the larger the rupture in the Life Field, the stronger my psionic control becomes. The precision of my divine sense perception is largely unaffected, but the efficacy of my psionic ability is always weaker than when controlling objects without Life Field protection."
"Presumably, even with the Life Field damaged, my psionic ability still needs to counteract the remaining power of the Life Field to affect the body within, leading to a loss of efficacy."
After an hour or so of meticulous work, Bai Mo had essentially completed various preliminary studies on De Bu Luo Yi, his experimental subject, and had largely memorized the experimental data.
"It's a pity I can't carry him back to the lab for detailed research. Taking the entire sample would be too conspicuous, and I can't just discard the experimental equipment in my suitcase to cut him into pieces and pack him. Without low-temperature freezing, he would quickly rot. What a waste of such excellent research material, only able to conduct these preliminary studies on-site; it truly is a bit wasteful," Bai Mo lamented, "Right, finally, there are two more things I must do."
Bai Mo then performed a small surgery on De Bu Luo Yi's body, excising the psionicized structure that granted De Bu Luo Yi his retrocognitive abilities. He placed it with the previously acquired reticular neural structure, freezing them together, intending to conduct detailed research once he returned to his lab.
After completing the excision, he casually disposed of the unconscious De Bu Luo Yi. After confirming there were no signs of life, he set another fire and then slowly left the scene, carrying his suitcase.
The fire blazed fiercely, but there was not a soul around, only deathly silence.
About ten minutes after Bai Mo left, De Bu Luo Yi's corpse, lying at the center of the flames, had its fingers twitch ever so slightly, as if coming back to life.
A moment later, the corpse's mouth also twitched.
"White Devil, I actually didn't die!" the corpse bizarrely opened its mouth and uttered.
"So hot! What is this place? Why is everything on fire? Could it be that I've arrived in burning hell after death?" The corpse struggled to its feet, stumbling and crawling out of the fire, using both hands and feet.
"I finally escaped. Wait! I distinctly remember jumping off a cliff, so why did I wake up in a bonfire?"
At this thought, the "corpse" suddenly clutched its head as countless memories flooded its mind: "I am Luo Yi! No, I am De Bu Luo Yi!" The memories of the two individuals clashed fiercely in the "corpse's" mind, slowly merging in the process.
After rolling on the ground clutching its head for several minutes, the "corpse" finally declared, "I am Luo Yi," announcing the victor of the body-snatching battle.
Having received De Bu Luo Yi's memories, Luo Yi began to ponder the current situation.
"Does this mean I've been reborn with my memories after jumping off a cliff? From De Bu Luo Yi's memories, it's 2017, while the year I was forced to jump off the cliff was 2040. This means I've gone back 23 years?! To just a few months after the legendary Spirit River Autumn!"
Luo Yi continued to peruse De Bu Luo Yi's memories.
Among the most recent memories was De Bu Luo Yi's battle with Bai Mo. Luo Yi skipped these details, turning instead to examine what kind of world this was.
"This is Rome, Rome, which has just suffered a dual blow from nuclear bombs and a tsunami! That means the Sea Race invasion is happening within these two days!" Luo Yi painstakingly recalled the corresponding content from his own memories, from books.

According to the history books, the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Ocean coastlines were the Sea Race's primary directions of attack.
