Chapter 301
301 – Completion Review
Hello. I am the author of Bulcho.
I started the series unexpectedly and the main story was completed in about a year and a half.
This article is my third completed work.
Actually, there was a work that needed to be completed before this, but due to my lack of ability, I couldn’t focus on just one, so this was completed first.
Fortunately, the remaining story has almost reached its climax and will likely be completed within next month.
I plan to write my new work after I finish all the work I have done.
There are a lot of things I want to say, but I’ve chosen just a few topics that I think readers might be curious about.
—
[First] Background of the ‘mystery story’
Actually, this is 100% my mistake.
Originally, I was going to write a story about a flirtation with the chairman on a deserted island, but when I was making plans, I saw comments from readers who were obsessed with the words ‘alien altitude’ and were secretly expecting a mystery story, and I thought, ‘Ah! I thought, ‘It would be fun to mix in a bit of mystery here!’ And twisted the story I had in mind.
I thought the first half should be a mystery story and the second half should be about drifting on a deserted island.
But here, unexpectedly, I lost the direction of the entire article.
Originally, I wanted to portray Kim Yoo-seong physically passing through a criminal’s trap as in the cartoon ‘Gorilla Teacher’, but when I thought about it, I realized that it would not be good to have a real murderer in a romantic comedy.
So, the mystery story that started out clumsily was ‘Ta-da! In fact, it was all fake! I was trying to finish it in a hurry, so I couldn’t get my writing together.
I deleted the hastily created mystery and wrote the desert island episode as originally planned, but in the process, half of the readers who were watching inertia turned to Thanos.
I really thought I snapped my finger.
[Second] Why did illustration production suddenly stop?
This happened because I pushed the artist too hard, and he announced his escape in the middle.
Originally, when I first started writing, I thought about completing 300 episodes and calculated that I would need to include 10 illustrations per 60 episodes.
Since I paid a base fee of 150,000 won + α per illustration, I originally planned to spend about 8 million won on illustrations alone.
However, it takes about 3 to 4 days to produce one black and white illustration, and considering specific feedback, it easily takes at least 5 days to complete one illustration.
In addition, the cover was produced at the same time, so the speed of illustration production could not keep up with the speed of serialization.
The artist must have been having a hard time, so he said it would be nice to change the pace to about one picture a week, and I agreed to that, but I couldn’t bear it due to the overwhelming workload, so I clicked gg.
However, I had already created 20 illustrations and 3 color covers, and it was not easy to bring in another illustrator due to issues with uniformity of illustrations and cost, so I gave up on producing illustrations.
[Third]Why the series suddenly slowed down in the middle
This is a complex problem.
In fact, before serializing Molubingui, the previous work was serialized daily, and after accidentally winning the award, I slowed down the pace of serializing the previous work, but Molubingui continued to be serialized daily. I was maintaining my daily series for about 230 days without an accident, but when three things happened one after another: health problems, number of views, Thanos, and the artist leaving, my mentality was divided and I went into a slump.
Originally, it took 2 to 3 hours to write a piece, but from around this time, it took 4 to 6 hours to write a piece.
I thought things couldn’t go on like this, so I quit my previous job, but my lack of concentration showed no signs of improving, so I struggled in a slump for quite a long time.
Fortunately, the pace of serialization has recovered a bit recently, so I’ve been doing about 5 serials a week. If I wrote 4 episodes, I used Molubing’s previous work for 1 episode, so it wouldn’t have seemed much different.
Unless you’ve read both works, it’s normal to think that the speed of the serialization is crap.
There were a lot of hesitating explanations, but it was entirely my fault.
[Fourth]Why do you keep kiting by reservation?
I am aware that this is a bad habit.
In fact, it is a problem that can be solved immediately by not writing it directly on the Novelpia site, but writing it in Korean or Word and then copying and pasting it. The reason why I continued it is because of the spacing issue mentioned before, but also because ‘I have become a habit of writing on my phone when I have free time at work.’ I guess I have no choice.
In fact, I was using the reservation function for intermediate storage.
At the beginning of the series, I had never used the notification system while using Novelpia, so I thought I only received notifications when the main story was updated.
However, it seems like readers are notified even if they make a reservation.
I found out about that later.
Starting with my next work, I will just set a specific serialization time and upload it according to that time.
[Fifth] Is there anything s*xy in the side story?
It comes out.
For the side story, I plan to tell the story that wasn’t completed in the main story from the perspective of a college student two years later, while also writing an IF episode that respects the individuality of each heroine.

So far, I have selected some information that I think readers may be interested in.
One and a half years.
If it’s short, it’s short, and if it’s long, it’s long, but I can only say thank you to the readers who have been with me so far.
I would like to thank the many readers who have supported and sponsored me so far, and I am leaving the writer Bulcho.
Have a good night everyone.
