Chapter 876: The Patient

876 The Patient

Lumian knew that the figure before him was Amon. Although Amon's appearance differed somewhat from Monette and the other Amons, the monocle over his right eye and his overall demeanor and aura unmistakably confirmed his identity.

But why was Amon here? And why did he call himself Termiboros?

Lumian clearly saw those silver and black beams of light emerging from within himself, from the shattered seal of Mr. Fool. How did they transform into Amon?

This was why Lumian had frozen in place earlier.

Could it be that during their previous encounters, Amon had secretly bypassed Mr. Fool's seal, hidden inside him, and replaced Termiboros?

If so, what had Mr. Fool's seal actually been for?

Despite his shock and confusion, Lumian suppressed these emotions because he had more urgent matters to attend to.

He stood up, ready to pick up the Sword of Courage and use the Mirror Traversal ability of the Black Tear to reach Franca, Jenna, and the others, to help them fight Higdon.

Meanwhile, Voisin Sanson and Harrison stood frozen like statues.

Amon, who claimed to be Termiboros, raised His hand to stop Lumian.

He glanced at the transparent boundary showing the battle between Franca, the others, and Higdon, and smiled, saying, "I've fixed their fate for the next ten minutes so they won't die. You still have some time. As for what happens after ten minutes, that's up to your choices."

Lumian refocused on Amon, removing the Black Tear forehead accessory and tucking it into the separate space within his Traveler's Bag to prevent any further negative effects. In a low voice, he asked, "What choices?"

Without waiting for Amon's response, he couldn't help but ask another question, "When did you become Termiboros?"

As he spoke, Lumian temporarily put away the Devil's Whispers bone ring.

Amon's lips curled slightly. "A long, long time ago. By the time you first learned that name, Termiboros was already me."

At this, the former King of Angels' smile took on a hint of mockery.

"In that dream in Cordu Village, the Warlock symbolized the power of inevitability. The Warlock's death and burial in the tomb symbolized the loss of the true owner of that power-the real Termiboros. The owl guarding the tomb and the Warlock's body symbolized an outsider seeking this power. The other you, accompanying the owl, symbolized the inherent depravity within everyone.

"Pallez couldn't even decipher this, yet he calls himself a Cryptologist? Just because I changed my symbolic form, He couldn't recognize me?

"Has he already begun aging prematurely at such a young age?"

Lumian didn't know who Pallez was, but he understood the implications of Amon's explanation.

The first time he had heard about depravity was from a Secrets Suppliant. That knowledge came with the potion. The second time was in the honorific name of the True Creator worshiped by the Aurora Order.

And Amon had a very close relationship with that individual.

This meant the True Creator's influence on the Cordu incident was much deeper than Lumian had imagined. It wasn't just a matter of sending a few lizard-like elves to nudge events along!

Rage that even an Ascetic couldn't suppress burned within Lumian. He squeezed out a hoarse voice from his throat, "Was the Cordu disaster the plan formulated by you two?"

Amon pinched His right eye's monocle, not directly answering Lumian's question.

He pulled a piece of paper from the void and read it in the tone of a report, "Patient: Lumian Lee, male, claims to be born on September 26, 1340, a native of Cordu in Riston Province, Intis Republic.

"Diagnosis: Strong self-destructive tendencies, loss of ability to respond to others' emotions.

"Cause Analysis: Experiences as a street urchin made the patient distrustful of his surroundings, developing habits of self-neglect to survive, abandoning certain societal morals. Aurore Lee's care, sympathy, love, supervision, and interdependent life helped the patient initially heal from that phase, reestablishing social connections and gradually becoming a normal person.

"The disaster at Cordu Village and Aurore's death shattered the patient's rebuilt life, bringing more severe pain and despair, making him afraid to desire or respond to others' emotions, fearing loss again, thus fostering strong self-destructive tendencies.

"First Phase Treatment Plan:

"Step 1: Emphasize the possibility of Aurore Lee's resurrection to give the patient motivation to live.

"Step 2: Arrange for the patient to stay at the Auberge du Coq Doré in the Trier market district, where many people at the bottom of society can effectively evoke the patient's empathy.

"Step 3: Force the patient to form connections with Celia Bello and others through events, preparing to rebuild social connections.

"Step 4: Use the undercover mission in the Iron and Blood Cross Order to make the patient meet Franca Roland. Franca Roland's background is similar to Aurore's, and her cheerful personality can effectively lower the psychological walls the patient has built, making her the most important candidate for re-establishing social connections.

"Step 5: Coordinate with the Tarot Club's Justice and Susie for treatment, reasonably allowing certain events to happen to aid in improving psychological conditions:

"Early Stage: Use the patient's sympathy for the unemployed Charlie and the street girls Ethans allow his help to yield positive results, giving him positive feedback.

"Mid Stage: Ensure the patient encounters Celia Bello after setbacks, receiving companionship and comfort, and using the self-indulgent yet unintentional behavior he chooses to relieve accumulated emotions.

"Late Stage: Bring inevitable events forward at the most appropriate time, with some events potentially occurring before mid-stage treatment:

"These include:

"1. Susanna Mattise targeting Charlie again, having the Bliss Society abduct him to Underground Trier. This would allow the patient to vaguely sense the Sufferer's presence, feel anger, and through these events, strengthen his connections with Franca, Celia, and Charlie, initially rebuilding social ties;

"2. The madman Flameng, whose situation most resembles the patient's, hangs himself after losing all hope and motivation for life despite the patient's help. This strongly resonates with the patient, giving him a huge shock, triggering his rebellious spirit and stubbornness;

"3. Scavenger Ruhr, unfortunately getting affected by the indiscriminate influence of cultists, contracts a severe illness. The patient's efforts to help end in failure, with Ruhr's wife, Michel, losing hope and choosing to indulge once by having a hearty meal and singing loudly before hanging herself at dawn. This similar fate and predestined outcome thoroughly ignite the patient's emotions, making him want to fight against the unfairness of fate, wanting to challenge everything.

"4. The explosion at the chemical plant where Celia Bello's mother worked, acting as the final catalyst.

"First Phase Treatment Result: The patient's self-destructive tendencies significantly reduced, re-established social connections, regained some motivation to live, and can now handle more events."

As Amon read the "report" in an even tone, Lumian felt his heart sink, growing colder with each word.

It was like being doused with cold water as a street urchin, the chill spreading from his head to his toes, extinguishing all his hope and pride like a candle flame.

His indignation, his rebellion against fate-all of them seemed like a joke, shattered into pieces and ground into the dirt by those in power.

At this moment, Lumian felt completely numb.

Half of him burned with uncontrollable anger and the self-destructive urge to drag the report writer to death with him. The other half once again felt the despair and pain from when Aurore had pushed him away to face death alone.

Amon finally finished reading the first phase treatment report and looked at Lumian with a smile, seemingly waiting for a response.

Lumian's body hunched slightly, and his voice erupted from the depths of his soul, filled with agony, "Why? Why me?"

Amon smiled and said, "The Fool's aura and Aurore's foolish choice made you a good test subject, capable of bearing many things and verifying the initial experimental results.

"That's one reason. The other is if you truly self-destruct, won't my role as Termiboros be exposed? How can I deceive those outside and make Them place heavy bets?

"Only by slowly absorbing and digesting Termiboros' Sequence 1 Beyonder characteristics within The Fool's seal and changing pathways will it be most hidden and least likely to be discovered."

Lumian's mind was in chaos, his emotions exploding, even the Conspirer's abilities were hard to use. He could only ask instinctively, "In that large ceremony with the padre, did not only Termiboros descend but also you? Did you intentionally seal yourself with the injured Termiboros into my body?"

Amon nodded lightly and smiled. "Thanks to your gifts, it helped me open the return path and gave me such a present."

Lumian fell silent, involuntarily breathing heavily as if the air here was too thin, and he had to force himself to breathe deeply. "Previously, the Sufferer hidden around me, who was it?"

Amon shook His head. "Haven't you guessed it yet? You should have heard His name, the Angel of Fate, Ouroboros."

The Angel of Fate, Ouroboros... Lumian was stunned, but it seemed to make sense.

This was the King of Angels who had once followed the Ancient Sun God and was currently serving the True Creator as mentioned by Mr. K during his preaching.

Lumian instinctively gritted his teeth, his voice squeezing out through the gaps, "Did you have a chance to save Aurore back then?"

Amon smiled. "Do you want to hear the answer?"

He glanced at the paper in His hand, seemingly preparing to read new content that might contain all the answers.

    (6) Chapter 890: Test
    Early the next morning.

After Lumian and his companions had breakfast in their room and were waiting for Ludwig to finish his part, they heard the doorbell ring.

Standing outside the door was a young man, half-giant, standing two meters tall, with proportionally long limbs, slightly curly short hair, and a shaggy appearance.

He had thick eyebrows and large eyes, a well-defined face, and upon glancing at Lumian, Franca, and Jenna, he nervously lowered his gaze to his toes and said:

"I am here to find Lumian. Miss Lumiana."

    He spoke in ancient Feisak.

"That's me." Lumian clearly understood that this was the envoy sent by Mr. "Sun" to take him to the Twin Towers in New Silver City.

That Major Arcana seemed to intentionally choose a young man whose height was not overly exaggerated.

The young man breathed a sigh of relief and awkwardly said:

"I am following the orders of the 'Six-Man Council' to take you to the Twin Towers to meet Elder Dereck Berg."

"Alright." Lumian nodded slightly to Jenna and Franca, then followed the young man out of the inn, heading towards the Twin Towers in New Silver City.

On the way, the half-giant youth walked ahead, his back a bit stiff, occasionally showing a tendency to move awkwardly as if he had forgotten how to walk normally.

From time to time, he would turn to look at Lumian, but not knowing what to say, he would quickly turn his head back.

About halfway through the journey, he finally thought of a suitable topic, half-turning his body, and asked Lumian:

"Aren't you worried that I might be a bad person? Maybe I lied about the orders from the 'Six-Man Council' and the meeting with Elder Dereck Berg?"

Someone like you, I could kill thirty of them in one go... Lumian only grumbled internally, not voicing his thoughts.

Considering they were all followers of Mr. "Fool," though not very familiar with each other, there was no need for mockery. Additionally, Lumian felt that if his sister Aurore were here, she definitely wouldn't respond in such a manner.

    He smiled lightly and said:

"I'm not worried because this is New Silver City."

The half-giant youth immediately brightened up, speaking with heartfelt pride:

"Yes, the Lord always teaches us to be kind and restrained. Our New Silver City strictly combats various crimes, especially preventing theft, fraud, and similar acts..."

The half-giant youth went on, nonstop, introducing how Mr. "Fool" had sent angels to save Silver City, turning it into a promised land, and how he and other citizens were building New Silver City.

These stories Lumian had heard repeatedly while drinking in New Silver City, but this time, he did not show impatience, allowing the half-giant youth to continue smoothly.

From his description, Lumian heard peace, tranquility, and happiness.

Amid this conversation, the two arrived at the Twin Towers, the core buildings of New Silver City. Inside, the left side had a pointed roof with a library and public facilities, while the right side had a dome and housed the 'Six-Man Council' offices.

Lumian instinctively looked towards the round tower and noticed black plant-like tendrils emerging from the gaps in the ground stones, swaying as if gently blown by the wind.

Last time he was here, Lumian had also noticed these black plants but hadn't paid much attention. This time, he felt a certain blood connection.

We are all part of the 'Goddess of Harvest,' Omebella, or rather her extended life!

"Even a 'Grade 0 Sealed Artifact,' when sealed, will have some influence on the outside world?" Lumian withdrew his gaze and followed the half-giant youth into the pointed tower.

They stepped on large black stones, passed huge pillars, and reached the third-floor library.

A tall man in a simple white robe stood in front of an oppressive row of bookshelves.

This man, over two meters tall, had neatly combed light brown hair and appeared to be in his early twenties, but his demeanor was extremely calm and authoritative. This was clearly one of the top figures Lumian had seen before, Mr. "Sun," one of the high-ranking members of the 'Fool's' church.

"Elder Berg, Miss Lumiana is here," the half-giant youth respectfully said.

Dereck Berg, Mr. "Sun," looked at Lumian and nodded:

    "Follow me."

    Lumian politely replied, "Thank you."

The half-giant youth waved and walked to the door. After a few steps, he turned around and called out to Lumian's back:

    "My name is Ludgest!"

After speaking, Ludgest quickly turned and ran down the stairs.

Lumian followed Mr. "Sun," delving into the library of New Silver City, and entered the innermost secret room, which contained a pile of scattered documents.

"These are all records related to the 'Blessing of the Earth,' translated into ancient Fusak for you," Mr. "Sun" said simply, sitting against the wall and falling silent, like a statue.

Lumian understood this was to guard against any accidents while he read the materials, so he nodded slightly, sat at the table, and picked up the fresh sheets of paper.

He read slowly, taking nearly half an hour to get a rough idea of the relationship between the 'Goddess of Harvest,' Omebella, and Silver City:

In the Second Era, during the time when the Ancient Gods ruled the earth and sky, Silver City belonged to the Giant King's court, and all its citizens were slaves of the giants.

However, unlike other human-dependent forces of the Giant King's court, the situation in New Silver City was relatively better because they worshipped and followed the Giant King's wife, a subordinate deity, the 'Goddess of Harvest,' Omebella.

In the records of New Silver City, Queen Omebella had often descended upon their city, appearing in two forms:

One form represented light and beauty, with the core of worship being 'joyous harvests, life worthy of admiration.' She saw the citizens of New Silver City as her children, always ensuring bountiful agricultural yields, rapid livestock and poultry reproduction, and population growth. This is why the citizens of New Silver City rarely suffered from unjust slaughter and never lacked food.

The other form brought desolation and death. At that time, all citizens of New Silver City knew that 'extreme harvests must be accompanied by extreme desolation,' 'only life can calm the earth's wrath,' 'death and new birth are universal and good, not to be feared,' and 'we must pay an appropriate price for accepting the earth's gifts.'

If this form of Omebella descended, it would definitely require a bloody sacrifice, using many humans as offerings. Even if the citizens of New Silver City did these things and offered their own relatives, they sometimes still had to endure a famine lasting up to a year—if they didn't do this, the famine could last three to five years.

So this is what it was like during the era of the Ancient Gods' rule? Even relatively better-off New Silver City was like this... Lumian turned to the next page.

This page recorded the Giant King's court's praise for the Giant King's queen, Omebella, with one sentence particularly catching Lumian's attention:

"The noble queen used her maternal nature to help the great King stabilize his emotions..."

What does this mean? Maternal nature... Helping the Giant King, an Ancient God, discharge excess extraordinary characteristics and regain a certain level of sanity through childbirth? Lumian pondered as he continued reading.

Another fifteen minutes later, he turned to the period of the Giant King's court's rapid decline:

After obtaining another Divine-level Sealed Artifact, New Silver City learned that the Giant King, this Ancient God, had fallen, worrying they would fall into the hands of even more brutal Demon Kings.

In this anxious atmosphere, on a night without the Red Moon, Queen Omebella appeared outside New Silver City.

This time, she did not descend directly but walked step by step.

She was in a very different state, asking the citizens of New Silver City to hold a ceremony and sacrifice half of their population to help her replenish her life.

The subsequent recorded situation was very vague, but the result was clear:

"That night, people sacrificed the god, the god sacrificed the king, the son sacrificed the mother."

In other words, the bizarrely resurrected Omebella ultimately died at the hands of the betrayed citizens of New Silver City? Lumian wasn't too surprised.

After that day, New Silver City discovered that Omebella's corpse did not have proper extraordinary characteristics but still possessed powerful forces and terrifying authority. They completely buried that segment of history, hiding this secret. Even after converting to the "Ancient Sun God," they did not reveal the true origin of the "Blessing of the Earth," the Divine-level Sealed Artifact, to that god, until Mr. Fool's Angel came to save them.

Here, the records about Omebella, the "Goddess of Harvest," ended. Next were the details of the Sealed Artifact "Blessing of the Earth":

"The Blessing of the Earth" can naturally create an edible plant in any environment and promote its growth, reproduction, and harvest within a fifty-kilometer radius.

"The Blessing of the Earth" will turn all human corpses within fifty kilometers into terrifying evil spirits unless they were killed by direct relatives. Anyone who eats the food it creates and has a strong connection with it will turn into evil spirits within three hundred kilometers.

Reading this record, which differed from the official government records of Sealed Artifacts, Lumian suddenly looked up at Mr. Sun sitting by the wall.

    He asked in confusion:

"Every human corpse will turn into an evil spirit? Even those who didn't reach List 5 when alive?"

As Lumian understood it, evil spirits were the strongest type of soul creatures, with the weakest being at least List 5 standard, and the stronger ones equivalent to Demigods.

    "Yes." Mr. Sun nodded solemnly.

This "Blessing of the Earth" ability is very terrifying, as it means it can create a large number of List 5 extraordinary beings, some of whom might even be Demigods... This is indeed a "Grade 0 Sealed Artifact," Lumian unconsciously judged from a combat strength perspective.

    He tentatively asked:

"At most, how many people can die at once and turn into evil spirits?"

"Never tested." Mr. Sun replied with a solemn expression.

Lumian suddenly realized his mistake and hurriedly apologized:

    "My apologies."

He continued reading the Divine-level Sealed Artifact information—in New Silver City, "Grade 0 Sealed Artifacts" were referred to as Divine-level Sealed Artifacts.

    (5) Chapter 889: The Intelligence of the Demoness Cult

Faced with Lumian's question, the "Magician" woman pondered for a few seconds before saying:
"Whether it's investigating the state of the 'Primordial Demoness,' probing the deepest secrets in the mirror world, or uncovering the nature of the mirror itself and mastering the resurrection secrets of the 'Undying Demoness,' it's hard to avoid the Demoness Cult.
"These things are equally important to you now.
"Therefore, my suggestion is to let the 'Two of cups' and the 'Black Demoness' continue their contact, while you remain hidden in the shadows as a precaution against unexpected events.
"The Demoness Cult is already suspicious of the 'Two of cups's' origins and intentions, but I'm not certain what measures they will take. If they wish to use the 'Two of cups' for certain purposes, we can take advantage of this arrangement to spy on the Demoness Cult and uncover the mirror world's secrets, conveniently obtaining resources for the 'Demoness' path. If they plan to eliminate potential threats and clean up the 'Two of cups,' you should act immediately to rescue the 'Two of cups,' ending the Demoness Cult mission there.
"This is indeed a highly dangerous task, and both the 'Two of cups' and you have the right to refuse."
Lumian listened intently, then smiled and said:
"I believe the Demoness Cult won't do anything to Franca for the time being. They're more likely to use her; otherwise, in the underground tomb of Morola, the goddess Juli would not have thrown me into the special mirror world. After achieving my goal and obtaining the 'Black Tear,' the 'Black Demoness' wouldn't have been so easily dismissed by Franca."
The "Magician" woman, almost invisible, nodded:
"If this is not arranged by that person, it means the Primordial Demoness hopes to conceal Tudor's resurrection potential and has chosen two peak Extraordinary forces from different paths, believing that this is the closest approach to a precise method for growth, aiming to achieve a very important and crucial goal for him."
Lumian shrugged, using a self-deprecating tone:
"One way to counter a True God's arrangements is to place oneself within another True God's plan, regardless of whether the plan is good or bad."
"The logic is like the balance of pollution on oneself." The "Magician" woman shook her head and laughed, "But you must remember, before the Fool wakes up, no True God can counter that person's arrangements in this matter, even if several Rank 0 True Gods join forces. Of course, this can disturb and affect his plans, giving you the chance to detect anomalies in time."
    Lumian solemnly nodded:
"Regardless of whether Franca continues the Demoness Cult mission or not, I will follow through on this matter. Madam, can you tell me more about the Demoness Cult? The 'Black Demoness' only reveals a small part to Franca each time."
The "Magician" woman spoke in a pleased tone:
"You now have the ability and mindset to handle a certain aspect of affairs on your own. If the Fool wakes up, you are fully qualified to draw the Major Arcana card.
"From now on, the Demoness Cult matters will be handed over to you. If you need assistance or resources from other Major Arcana cards, you can always find me or the 'Judge.'
"Because the 'Undying Demoness' can resurrect and be reborn, it's hard to kill them completely. They remain forever youthful, not aging, and can live for many years, outlasting the lifespan of most Angel-level beings. Therefore, if not considering the accumulation of the 'Desperate Demonesses' of Rank 4, the number of living Rank 3 and Rank 2 Extraordinary in the Demoness Cult surpasses any True God church.
"On this point, only the long-lived Blood Tribe can compare, but they still fall short.
"Of course, a significant portion of the high-level power in True God churches lies in Rank 0 and Rank 1 Sealed Artifacts and sacred objects. In the face of major disasters, these Sealed Artifacts and sacred objects can somewhat exert the corresponding high-level power. A large part of them can also be relatively smoothly transformed to quickly enhance the strength of the prepared forces."
    Lumian recalled:
"According to the 'Black Demoness,' upon reaching Rank 3, one can name themselves using colors, thus there are thirteen 'Color Demonesses' in total."
"Four of them are Angels, Rank 2 Angels. In this regard, the Demoness Cult is inferior to the True God churches because their high levels must be 'Demonesses,' with no other Angels, while True God churches can use Rank 0 Sealed Artifacts or possess other Rank 1 Extraordinary characteristics to create Rank 1 Great Angels." The "Magician" woman provided a detailed introduction.
"Why can't there be a list 1 Demoness?" Lumian expressed his confusion.
The "Magician" woman smiled and said:
"What I’m about to explain is one of the highest-level arcane knowledge about the Path of the Gods.
"Each path has its own unique characteristics, and possessing or absorbing uniqueness is key to becoming a True God. However, it’s not the only condition. To truly be on the list 0, the path must support its uniqueness with all list 1 supernatural traits. That means all three parts are needed. Therefore, a list 0 'Primordial Demoness' cannot exist as a list 1 'Apocalyptic Demoness'; there can only be list 2 'Disaster Demonesses.'
"Similarly, the Divine Church cannot have a divine counterpart as a list 1 Great Angel. Well, there are some exceptions with specific path abilities."
Lumian realized this and asked sharply:
"I can’t advance to a 'Demoness' path list 1 and become an 'Apocalyptic Demoness' unless, beforehand, the Primordial Demoness is deceased?"
"Exactly." The "Magician" woman pointedly reminded him, "The Hunter's list 1 supernatural traits are only one part; the 'Crimson Angel' already occupies two parts. This is also why he can once again become the Angel King."
"Is the definition of the Angel King possessing multiple list 1 supernatural traits or having absorbed uniqueness?" Lumian had some understanding of the Angel King concept before, but now he clearly realized what this position represented.
    The "Magician" woman nodded:
"Yes, whether it’s occupying two list 1 supernatural traits or three list 1 supernatural traits, or having absorbed uniqueness and adding one or two list 1 supernatural traits to it, all are Angel Kings.
"The only person who became an Angel King with uniqueness plus three list 1 supernatural traits is my master, Mr. 'Door'. However, he used his own sealing authority to resist and gather tendencies. Otherwise, if three list 1 supernatural traits and uniqueness were placed in one Extraordinary being’s body, they would quickly merge, and the possessor would immediately become a god, lose control on the spot, or directly die."
No wonder Mr. 'Door' was the top noble in the Tudor Empire... Lumian, unable to suppress his worry, asked:
"Where is the final part of the Hunter's list 1 supernatural trait?"
"Is the 'Crimson Angel' Medici about to acquire it?"
"It’s rumored to be at the 'Primordial Demoness' place." The "Magician" woman did not hide this information, "And the one holding that list 1 supernatural trait to give to the Primordial Demoness is said to be the 'Black Demoness' Clarisse."
    Lumian nodded thoughtfully.
The "Magician" woman continued to introduce the situation of the Demoness sect:
"Besides the 'Gray Demoness' Julies, the Demoness sect also has three list 2 'Disaster Demonesses', namely the 'Golden Demoness', 'Blue Demoness', and 'Purple Demoness.'
"There are currently nine list 3 'Immortal Demonesses.' In addition to the 'Black Demoness' and 'White Demoness' you know, there are also the White, Grey, Silver, Green, Gold, Brown, and Lemon...”
After hearing this, Lumian sharply noticed a problem:
"Trier in the special world must be one of the most important areas for the Demoness sect. Yet they didn’t send a list 2 'Disaster Demoness' to be in charge. They entrusted all matters to the 'Black Demoness'...”
    This is quite unusual.
Or, one of the 'Golden,' 'Blue,' or 'Purple' 'Disaster Demonesses' might be hiding in Trier?
"Moreover, only the list 3 'Black Demoness' is responsible for managing the Hunter's list 1 supernatural trait, using sacrificial methods to pass it to the Primordial Demoness. The sect was not worried about the 'Black Demoness' being insufficient or lacking strength, right?" The "Magician" woman reminded Lumian that there was another detail to consider.
After exchanging more information about the Demoness sect, the "Magician" woman looked at the darkening sky and said:
"Tomorrow, Mr. 'Sun' will send someone to take you to the Twin Towers, read the records of Omebella in New Silver City, and access that list 0 'sealed object.'
"Afterward, when you return to Trier is up to you to decide."
"Understood, 'Magician' Lady." Lumian answered and watched as the Major Arcana figure dissolved into points of starlight before his eyes.
    Nighttime.
Franca, restless in the living room, muttered:
    "Why hasn’t Lumian returned yet?"
Isn’t it just reporting to the "Magician" lady and exchanging information?
    It’s been quite a while!
Jenna, also a bit worried, went to the window and looked outside.
    Suddenly, her gaze fixed.
"There." She pointed to the top of the 'Fool' cathedral bell tower.
Franca walked over and saw a figure sitting at the top of the bell tower, with no guardrails, dressed in a black robe, with flowing black hair, and a delicate, meticulous, yet graceful and beautiful face.
    That was Lumian.
At this moment, Lumian sat there, his legs dangling outside, his gaze quietly looking down below.
Franca and Jenna exchanged glances and quickly ran to the 'Fool' cathedral, climbing the bell tower.
Seeing Lumian’s back, they did not immediately ask about the situation. They maintained silence, each taking a side, following Lumian’s gaze, looking out at what he was intently observing.
It was a building in the darkness of night illuminated by large yellow flames, a place with various mushrooms appearing through the street lamp’s light, silhouettes of Giants and Half-Giants behind glass windows, raised glasses, cooking smoke, singing in the nearby square, noise spilling out from bars, and the distant sounds of cheers and laughter.

Don't judge me, I translated it from Vietnamese into English via GPT chat, but it seems readable. Numbering of chapters according to the volume, not the book, too lazy to change xD;)

    Volume 6: Dream Weaver

    (1) Chapter 885: Contaminated "Artillery Gun"
The sunset's light shone through the window, casting a dim golden glow in the room.

Except for Ludwig, who had taken Lugano to the New White Silver City to seek local delicacies, Franca, Jenna, and Anthony remained in the living room, listening to Lumian recount his experiences after parting ways with Termiboros and Amon.

Lumian narrated the events with a detached demeanor, discussing Termiboros transforming into Amon and the psychological treatment report read by Amon. He recounted the main points of the "Story" scenario without hiding anything.

His low, indifferent voice reached Franca and Jenna's ears, gradually making them feel suffocated with anguish and despair, as if they had experienced it themselves.

This was not physical pain, nor the kind of despair faced when confronting death. It stemmed from their insignificance, helplessness, and the realization that their beliefs, emotions, and decisions were all orchestrated by someone else.

Franca involuntarily recalled the times she had interacted with experimental lab rats.

She finally understood why Lumian, despite not resisting the transition to the "Demoness" pathway, still suffered so much for the sake of advancing to Demi-God, with emotions always tightly restrained. Looking at his familiar yet strange face, with its expressionless beauty, Franca felt a pang of heartache and pity.

When Lumian finished describing his final choice, the room fell silent.

After a long pause, Franca tried to break the silence, expressing her thoughts:

"I didn't expect the 'Black Tears' to be orchestrated by that person. Isn't that a matter for the Demoness Sect?"

"Without 'Black Tears,' there would be 'White Tears' or 'Gray Tears.' If the 'Primal Demoness' couldn't be arranged to descend, could another 'Demoness' be arranged?" Lumian responded calmly.

Seeing his current state, Jenna felt a deep sorrow and worry. She would rather see Lumian angry or openly showing his internal pain, instead of becoming like a dry well, burying all emotions at its bottom.

Franca shared a similar feeling. Almost instinctively, she mocked herself:

"I didn't expect Jenna and I to have a role in the scenario, even if it's just to stabilize your state during your promotion to 'Desperate Demoness.'"

She recalled hearing the term "anchor" from the "Judge" lady several times, suspecting it was related to how high-ranking beings stabilized their state—since the higher the rank, the easier it was to go mad. Anchors seemed to enhance self-awareness and help resist losing control.

"Not just that." Lumian, still wearing a black cloak, declared directly, "It's also to prevent me from getting lost in the fragments of Aurore's soul and unwilling to return to the 'Hunter' pathway, gradually abandoning my male identity."

Jenna and Franca fell silent, both feeling an indescribable pain.

The latter stood up from the oversized armchair that could hide her within, looking directly at Lumian:

"I don't like the way you're talking, as if Jenna and I are mere tools.

"'Black Tears' only made the problem manifest earlier, but it doesn't mean the problem didn't exist, nor does it mean our feelings and thoughts are empty and only emerged because of that arrangement!

"I speak only for myself, but my attitude is that I won't persuade you to return to the 'Hunter' pathway, nor will I care if you're a 'Demoness' or a 'Hunter.' I'm happy that Aurore still has a chance of resurrection, and I look forward to seeing her return, but I care more about you, the Lumian. Lee who shared so many wonderful memories with us."

At this point, Franca choked up, unsure how to express the rest of her thoughts.

Jenna stood up as well, pressing her lips together:

"I'd be happy to see Aurore revived through you, but I don't want to see you give up on yourself.

"In this world, Lumian. Lee is someone who is cared for, loved, and valued!"

    "Yes!" Franca echoed Jenna's sentiment.

Lumian's pale blue eyes looked at the two "Demonesses," a faint light flickering in their depths.

He did not respond to Franca and Jenna's words, nor did he mock them.

As Franca and Jenna were about to say more, Anthony subtly signaled to them with a glance, indicating that it was time to let Lumian have some quiet time to think, as too much comfort and encouragement might have the opposite effect.

    Franca fell silent.

    She suddenly realized a fact:

Anthony was there...so he must have heard everything she said earlier? Embarrassing!

    Capital E, large-scale embarrassment!

Jenna returned to her seat, trusting Anthony's judgment in this area.

As for her earlier emotional outburst, she felt no shame, knowing that Anthony had seen through it long ago.

Anthony sighed inwardly. As a normal, middle-aged man, he was grateful to be a "Psychologist" and a "Hypnotist," otherwise, facing two charming "Demonesses" and an exceptionally beautiful captain every day, he would inevitably succumb to their allure, his mind slipping away unknowingly.

He felt that such training would make him more resilient, even if he didn't become a Demi-God, in resisting the allure of a "Desperate Demoness."

Franca, feeling awkward, instinctively changed the topic, exclaiming:

"The arrangements by that person are terrifying. We can't escape or reject them at will."

    Jenna nodded deeply in agreement.

Both "Demonesses" had witnessed grand scenes, including the celestial phenomenon created by "Red Angel" Medici in Fourth Epoch Trier, which they had clearly felt. However, the meticulous and seamless arrangements by the "True Creator" far exceeded their imagination, making it hard to sleep or even inducing nightmares with just a thought.

Lumian replied in a slightly low voice: "That one is a True God. I even suspect they are more than a True God. At least the 'Magician' lady's respect and fear for them surpasses that for 'Eternal Blazing Sun' and other True Gods.

"The Tarot Club, the Fool's church, and other related forces together probably can't stop their arrangements, at most detecting abnormalities earlier and issuing warnings."

"Yes, even though there are many Angels around the Fool's divine seat, facing a True God is still insufficient. Damn it, why would a True God focus on someone who wasn't even a Demi-God before?" Franca sighed and cursed.

She originally wanted to add that the gap in status was so large that resistance would likely be futile, and it would be better to adapt and use the opponent's arrangements to strengthen oneself. However, considering Lumian's current state, she swallowed her thoughts.

"Maybe we won't have to worry about that person's arrangements until the Fool awakens," Jenna suggested thoughtfully.

"Yes, when will the Fool awaken?" Franca echoed, sighing.

Suddenly, an idea occurred to her.

She sat up straight and looked at Lumian:

"Lumian, Jenna, and Ludwig have lucky gold coins given by the Fool. If we gather all of them, could the Fool awaken?"

"If it were that simple, the Major Arcana cards would have already collected the gold coins and awakened the Fool." Lumian thought for a few seconds and said, "Perhaps gathering the gold coins is just a prerequisite, and more actions are needed afterward."

    At this moment, Anthony interjected:

"I'm about to get a gold coin. 'Knight of the Sword' promised it as a reward."

"Four..." Franca couldn't help but glance at Lumian.

Under normal circumstances, she would have teased him, but now, seeing Lumian's state, she couldn't bear to.

Lumian didn't seem dejected. He looked out the window and said:

"The 'Magician' lady should come to see me soon. I'll ask about the significance of the lucky gold coins."

"Okay." Franca touched her "Traveler's Backpack" and added, "Just in time, I want to ask the 'Magician' lady to create an independent space in the 'Traveler's Backpack' to store the pistol. I can feel it's like 'Black Tears,' spreading a lingering contamination."

Her "Artillery Gun" had remained in a special mirror world, combined with Higdon's power, and hadn't been renamed yet.

After speaking, Franca invited Lumian to put the entire room into the "Bottle of Fiction." Then she took out the contaminated "Artillery Gun" and used "Mirror Divination" to grasp its effects and negative influences. Soon, Franca obtained detailed answers:

    "The contaminated artillery gun spreads disease and decay within a three-kilometer radius randomly;

    "It can add 'Certain Death' and 'Certain Hit' effects to fired bullets, totaling thirteen times, which can overlap with the original 'Heavy Blow' effect;

    "If 'Certain Death' or 'Certain Hit' effects are used, the user will fall seriously ill for a period afterward. If they can't find appropriate treatment, they might even die. If they do, the illness will last a few hours to a day;

"Even after all 'Certain Death' and 'Certain Hit' uses are exhausted, the continuous spread of disease and decay will persist for about a year."

Upon learning this, Franca immediately returned the contaminated "Artillery Gun" to the "Traveler's Backpack," then cheerfully joked:

"If I use pregnancy bullets combined with the 'Certain Hit' effect, how would the enemy respond?"

      (2) Chapter 886: Conditions of Satisfaction
For Franca's question, Jenna and Anthony laughed and didn't know how to answer.

Lumian seriously considered and discussed the possible consequences:

"Is pregnancy a big problem for Extraordinary people? They can just use intense battles to lose it on the spot."

Seeing Lumian willing to discuss the issue, Franca laughed and said:

"It's not that simple. After getting the pregnancy bullet, I seriously researched the relevant issues and asked the 'Judge' lady. After confirmation, this pregnancy bullet comes from the 'Great Mother’s' blessing. Even Half-Gods can't escape it. Once pregnant, without special abilities, it’s very difficult to end the pregnancy. We all know that one way for Extraordinary people to expel excess Extraordinary characteristics is to make someone else or themselves pregnant, borrowing the child to take away the corresponding characteristics. However, the outcome is uncontrollable.

"In other words, whoever gets hit by this pregnancy bullet, whether male or female, human or dog, will immediately become pregnant. The fetus will grow rapidly, tearing apart the part imbued with Extraordinary characteristics or blessing force, causing instability and reduced power in the target."

"This combined with the 'Inevitable Fate' effect is a bit terrifying," Jenna said emotionally. "We can only stay vigilant and use substitutes ahead of time."

Franca initially intended to joke with Lumian, suggesting if he didn’t want to be a 'Demoness,' they could ask 'The Sun' through the 'Tarot Club' for help, or she could shoot him with a pregnancy bullet to see if he could give birth to a 'Despair Demoness.' But considering her companion's feelings, she gave up on this joke.

Moreover, she felt Lumian might insist on being a 'Demoness' for a while, hoping that Aurore's soul fragments truly showed no sign of resurrection.

"I decided to change the 'Cannon of Fate' to 'Gun of Inevitability,'" Franca said after much consideration, abandoning the name 'Cannon of Fate,' which she liked and found fun. She then asked Lumian, "What are the abilities of this bracelet of yours? Just in time, I’ll tell you about the safety-proven 'Magic Mirror Divination'."

"Including the one that foretells social death but has the most accurate divination results?" Jenna asked curiously.

      Franca nodded solemnly:

"Yes, but it's best not to ask that one, otherwise... well, I've learned from my own experience."

As Franca spoke, she couldn’t help but glance at Anthony, discovering that the 'Hypnotist' showed no change in expression, as if he had forgotten about the previous incident.

Under Franca's guidance, Lumian successfully completed his first 'Magic Mirror Divination,' obtaining crucial information about the cheap silver bracelet:

"It can be used nine times with the 'People in the Circle' effect, each time sustaining no less than three and no more than nine uses.

"'People in the Circle' can be used within a kilometer range or targeted at a specific individual, or attached to oneself. The activation conditions for the 'People in the Circle' range should not be harsh and can affect corresponding areas within the Angels. The individual 'People in the Circle' can have relatively stringent activation conditions, but if the target's status is higher than oneself, the effect will be significantly reduced until null.

"There is no limit to using 'People in the Circle' on oneself, and being killed by an Angel can also restart it.

"Only one 'Circle' can be maintained at a time, and similar types of 'Circles' have a three-minute cooldown before being remade.

"The 'People in the Circle' effect can last long unless the number of uses is exhausted, or the user actively dismisses it. For example, a 'Circle' on oneself set to trigger upon near-death can last up to a year if never triggered. This cursed silver bracelet will enhance the abilities of 'Hunting Fate,' 'Exchanging Fate,' 'Magnifying Fate,' and 'Driving Fate' to the standard of 'People in the Circle.' After about a year, the corresponding blessing power will fully dissipate, turning this silver bracelet back into an ordinary accessory with residual curses.

"Even just wearing this silver bracelet will unknowingly attract those blessed by fate and earn their hatred.

"Each use of 'People in the Circle' will bring a period of bad luck, varying based on the user's status."

Lumian held the cheap silver bracelet, repeatedly examining it, as if waiting for those blessed by fate to arrive.

With a voice carrying a bit of magnetism, he said:

"If it's me, the bad luck will probably last three hours. For you guys, it might be close to two days, and for Anthony, it should be three days."

"It really suits you best," Franca said. "With the 'Sword of Courage,' you’re equivalent to a 'Hunter,' a 'Demoness,' and 'Fate'—three paths of Half-Gods, with abilities that don't conflict much."

Among the List of Four, this was definitely a standout!

"What should we call it?" Lumian looked down at the cheap silver bracelet.

"Ring of Destiny?" Franca excitedly suggested.

"Ring of Shackles?" Jenna’s eyes lit up.

"Then 'Ring of Shackles' it is. It suits my current mental and emotional state." Lumian said with a self-deprecating tone.

Before Franca could express her disappointment, he put away the 'Ring of Shackles' and thoughtfully said:

"I just remembered something from the topic of the pregnancy bullet."

"What is it?" Franca asked curiously.

      Lumian’s clear blue eyes sparkled:

"When I first learned the invisible god-child of the 'Great Mother' was named Omebella, Termiboros in me seemed surprised.

"I originally thought it was because this Evil God’s Angel had heard the name in the infinite cosmos. I didn't expect Omebella to enter our world, becoming the invisible god-child. But the current situation is that Termiboros in me is equivalent to Amon’s true body.

"In other words, this has no connection to some ancient knowledge or legend of the infinite cosmos.

"At present, there are only two possibilities: either Amon is deceiving me, preparing for my future investigation, or he truly didn’t expect it. And what he didn’t expect is that the Queen of Giants, the 'Goddess of Wind and Harvest,' Omebella from the Second Epoch, appears in the 'Great Mother’s' invisible god-child."

"Amon not expecting it doesn’t mean the one behind it also didn’t expect it?" Jenna clearly understood Lumian’s point.

Lumian gently nodded: "Meeting Father Monserrat was definitely arranged by Him, to grasp the invisible god-child of the Great Mother’s situation. But the name of the invisible god-child of the Great Mother might not be part of the plan; it was an accident. He might not have expected it."

"Do you want to use this to find another path out of the arrangement?" Anthony roughly understood Lumian’s thinking.

Lumian smiled, making Franca and the others a bit dazed:

"That one was the Ancient Sun God who ended the Ancient Gods' rule. There are very few ancient secrets not under His control, and this might be one of them."

Hearing this, Franca suddenly recalled that the 'Aurora Order' worshiped the 'True Creator,' whose predecessor was the Ancient Sun God, the savior of humanity. Based on the information collected by the 'Curly-Haired Baboon Research Society,' the Ancient Sun God was very likely also a time traveler!

Damn it, how could a time traveler make such arrangements for innocent people's lives! Franca cursed silently before saying to Lumian:

"Are you now ready to meet the conditions to contact Omebella’s remains and briefly use it?"

After consuming Omebella’s umbilical cord remains and partially merging with it, Lumian only needed to satisfy the conditions of 'having encountered direct betrayal' and 'being female' to contact and take the 0-level Sealed Artifact formed by Omebella’s remains for brief use.

Having been abandoned by his womanizing father, Lumian had long satisfied the first condition. Now, he was truly female. Lumian responded:

"Moreover, Omebella’s remains are right in New Silver City, in this very city.

"I wonder what secrets I can uncover from the records of New Silver City and direct contact with the remains..."

Before Jenna and the others could respond, dots of starlight lit up, and the figure of the 'Magician' lady was sketched in the room.

This Major Arcana cardholder seemed to have foreseen Franca’s dilemma, directly reaching out:

"Give me your 'Baggage of the Traveler'."

In early spring, outside New Silver City, fields of green wheat were still lush in the sunset.

The 'Magician' lady walked with Lumian on the path through the fields, breathing in the smell of soil and plants, feeling the refreshing breeze.

After obtaining most of the information from the Spirit World, she patiently listened to Lumian recount his encounter, then sighed:

"We always said to be careful of His arrangements and to watch out for coincidences around us. But we didn't realize that the arrangement happened from the beginning, providing many seemingly reasonable explanations, so much that we could only see the traces of the arrangement in specific events, completely ignoring the overall issue."

Lumian still wore the black hood given by Franca, hiding his hair under the hood.

He didn’t complain about the thoughts of the Major Arcana cardholders, after all, that one was a true god.

He looked at the green wheat stained with golden-red hues and said in a low voice:

"Will we not have to worry about all the details of life being arranged once we wake up the Fool?"

"Yes, or, quickly become an Angel. Although this can't completely get rid of His arrangement, we can still walk a path of our own to some extent." The 'Magician' lady calmly replied.

The "Magician" Lady tried not to let any pity show in her eyes.

Lumian remained silent for two seconds before asking:

"Are those lucky gold coins the 'Awakened Fool tools?"

"That's right." The "Magician" Lady did not deny it. "You should also receive one." Lumian tilted his head, expressing his skepticism with his eyes.

The "Magician" Lady smiled and said:

"Those are rewards from the 'Lady Samaritan's Spring' and 'Dream Breaker' ancient tomb."

"However, you will need to wait a few more days. There's a time gap before you can use these items."

        (3) Chapter 887: The Effect of the Lucky Gold Coin
Lumian roughly understood the meaning of the "Magician’s words:

Previously, he had received a "Lady Samaritan" spring water and "Dreamtime" ancient tomb mud as payment, with the payment being another lucky gold coin. However, the payment would only be completed after all the "Lady Samaritan" spring water and "Dreamtime" ancient tomb mud were used up and their effects confirmed. These items needed to be used in batches due to the time intervals between their use; they couldn't all be used up at once, as that might lead to unfavorable results.

"Do we need to wait a few more days?" Lumian asked, glancing at the golden-red horizon. He nodded lightly and said, "I understand."

He wasn’t in a hurry; after all, he had been waiting for so long, a few more days didn’t matter.

Lumian took a step forward and asked:

"How many lucky gold coins are needed to awaken the 'Fool'?"

"The lucky gold coin is a tool, a medium, not the one to awaken itself. Each type of lucky gold coin is only valid for one day." The "The Magician" explained clearly without using any riddles. "Once you have obtained the last lucky gold coin, all five of you will be able to use your respective lucky gold coins to enter the 'Fool'’s dream and attempt to awaken him. Understand? The lucky gold coin is to help you access the 'Fool'’s dream." Of course, given your list, even if you have the lucky gold coins, there is no way to determine exactly when you can enter that dream or what you can do once inside. We need to assist you, ensuring that you can enter together and remain fully conscious and rational."

Lumian listened quietly, his expression slightly changing. He whispered:

"The 'Fool'’s dream? We are responsible for awakening the 'Fool'?"

"Yes," the "The Magician" answered with a simple word.

She evaluated Lumian against the backdrop of the sunset’s dreamlike beauty and sighed softly.

Lumian frowned slightly: "What should we do to awaken the 'Fool'?"

"Has anyone who held the lucky gold coin before ever entered the 'Fool'’s dream and tried anything?"

Why do we need a few of us?

"I don't know the specific method to awaken the 'Fool'," the "The Magician" admitted candidly. "You’ll need to explore it yourselves. We will provide some suggestions based on your feedback."

She paused and added in a teasing tone:

"Previous holders of the lucky gold coin did indeed enter the 'Fool'’s dream and tried many things, but they were repeatedly detected by the Celestial's spirit. They were either kicked out of the dream or had their actions restricted, not able to do much. Some of them, after being kicked out the first time, regardless of whether they were disguised or not, would be kicked out again within a minute upon re-entering the dream.

"You should also be cautious. At the start, things may go well, but if you are detected and locked in by the Celestial's spirit later, you may be kicked out of the dream or become mute, blind, or idiotic."

        Lumian pondered and asked:

"Are we supposed to determine the 'Fool'’s fate?"

"Perhaps, perhaps not. We can't determine that yet," the "The Magician" explained simply. "We can only say that the previous holders of the lucky gold coin sometimes felt it was right to exchange the coin at some moment or in some situation. This might also be a destiny hint."

Lumian didn’t ask further questions. Instead, he mentioned that he had fulfilled all conditions to access the Omebella relic and concluded:

"Can I now request access to New Silver City?"

"I will inform 'Solar' about your request. Just be prepared," the "The Magician" said with a smile. "Of course, you can't actually take the Omebella relic away. That belongs to New Silver City, and '0'-level items are extremely precious. No one will give them to you without the appropriate price.

"What you can do is review the relevant records in New Silver City and study how to transform the relic into usable items. If you encounter difficulties, with the approval of New Silver City’s 'Six-person Council,' you may briefly borrow the '0'-level item and return it within a specified time."

"That’s very good," Lumian said sincerely.

According to the extraordinary official from "007," if he wanted to use a "1"-level item, he had to submit a report in advance, receive approval, and meet the corresponding conditions. As for "0"-level items, they were beyond his wildest dreams.

Now, New Silver City might actually allow him to borrow the Omebella relic for a period of time!

Lumian adjusted his disheveled hair, recounting his first reaction when he learned about the "Great Mother" and the divine entity named Omebella, as well as his own speculations to the "The Magician."

"This may also conceal a very significant and important secret, related to the deep abyss in the Dark Realm and the missing 'Lady of the Night,' Phor Arris." The "Magician" said, gently raising her hands, as if she were sensing the freshness and strength of the early spring green wheat.

Lumian stood before a water reservoir, silently pondering for a few seconds before speaking:

"Lady, what is the true purpose and ultimate outcome of the vortex plan?"

The "Magician" recounted the developments and changes of those transactions and events she understood, but since Lumian no longer had the position of a false Angel and had lost the "Fool" seal, he could no longer receive some knowledge. She consistently described the external shields of the Dark Gods, the "merchants" who believe in those gods, and the "Great Mother" as representations of those great existences.

Upon hearing that Emperor Russel was resurrected as the "Black Emperor," and that the great being, who was injured and used "Truth" as a name for missionary work, chose to die again, Lumian's expression changed several times, and he eventually did not say a word.

"I understand your feelings." The "Magician" said, using a self-deprecating tone to comfort herself as if she were the Minor Arcana card, "I don't like that being, and I strongly dislike the methods they use, but I cannot deny that they are indeed preparing this world for the apocalypse, and it’s not just for their own benefit. So, my feelings are very complex."

Lumian's expression was cold, and he remained silent.

The "Magician" did not continue on this topic. She raised her right hand, and points of starlight appeared, forming an illusory symbol on Lumian's left chest made up of layers of magical glyphs.

The holder of this Major Arcana card simply stated:

"There is no need to seal the Angel. Simply protecting the fragments of Aurore's soul is sufficient with my power; there is no need to trouble the 'Fool.' Moreover, if the 'Fool' were to perform the sealing, it would actually affect the gradual recovery of Aurore's soul fragments through your feminine state."

"Well, if you are unwilling to take the Lucky Copper to the 'Fool' dream realm, we will not force you. I will still periodically help you reinforce the seal."

        Lumian forced a bitter smile:

"That being has already made a choice for me."

He was silent for a while, his expression slightly pale as he moved his lips a few times:

"Can being in the 'Demoness' state really allow Aurore's soul fragments to gradually recover? Is this truly the only method for Aurore’s resurrection?"

"Not necessarily the only method. At least, I cannot provide you with an accurate judgment. Only the 'Fool' can give a corresponding answer." The "Magician" did not deny or confirm that being's teachings.

Her current knowledge and ability were not enough to counteract that argument.

The only thing she could confirm was:

"This is indeed a method for Aurore’s resurrection, but the final resurrection is not complete."

"Why is it necessarily Aurore's soul fragments that gradually recover, and not the fragments of other villagers? I have many soul fragments sealed within me; why is Aurore the most special one?" Lumian was most concerned about this issue.

        The "Magician" said:

"Aurore’s soul fragments meet three conditions: First, she is an extraordinary being who has undergone extraordinary transformations on her soul; second, she carries destiny-related powers; third, her soul fragments have received protection from that being or several protectors, which makes the situation relatively better and thus can gradually recover.

"Therefore, her soul fragments are indeed the most special among all the fragments in your body. The other fragments might only be able to wait for you to become a 'Hunter' Pathway Angel in the future, existing in the form of a half-human, half-object mechanical soldier."

Lumian thought for a while and said:

"If I were now a 'Great Mother' with that three-headed Pathway Extraordinary being, I would not doubt that Aurore’s soul fragments could gradually recover within me. Could it be that the 'Demoness' does not have this newly born symbol?"

"But the 'Demoness' has resurrection authority. Don’t you remember that one of the descriptions of the 'Eternal Demoness' is a mysterious and hard-to-kill being, skilled in resurrection and reincarnation?" The "Magician" reminded him.

        Lumian exhaled silently and said:

"If I continue to advance to the 'Eternal Demoness,' wouldn’t the effectiveness of Aurore’s soul fragments' recovery be better?"

        The "Magician" smiled and said:

"There's no need to force the issue. After you transition to the 'Demoness Pathway,' you can achieve all the abilities and characteristics of the 'Eternal Demoness,' unless you find a way to separate the corresponding 'Eternal' Extraordinary characteristics yourself."

Seeing Lumian nod lightly, the "Magician" smiled and asked:

"As a Pathway Demigod, you should have some special and chaotic abilities now?" Lumian replied:

"The most special ability is the application of fire.

"On one hand, I can use the 'Hunter' white-hot fire and the 'Demoness' own black flames independently. On the other hand, I can merge them together to unleash, which can cause physical damage to both people and objects, as well as ignite spiritual entities and burn spiritual forms. It can cause overall damage and destruction to a target.

"After merging the 'Despair Demoness' Extraordinary characteristics with the 'Hunter' Pathway Extraordinary characteristics, new mystical knowledge emerged, calling this suppressed, bold, and chaotic black fire the 'Fire of Annihilation.'"

          (4) Chapter 888: The Power Changes Brought by Switching Paths
After describing the "Fire of Destruction," Lumian frowned and said:

"I heard that members of the Sorceress Sect sometimes turn their lovers into traditional female forms. Don’t they have any 'Hunter' Path Extraordinary individuals among their lovers?"

This question fundamentally asks, "Why is it me?"

"Why can't we just find a 'Hunter' Path Extraordinary individual from Path List 5 and have him switch to 'Doomsday Sorceress'? Wouldn’t that meet the requirement of 'Yin within Yang, Yang within Yin'? Why arrange it for me?" Perhaps only you could easily enter the area around 'Samaritan's Spring,' obtain the remaining aura of the 'Blood Emperor,' and thus have a mysticism similar to '0-01.'

The "Sorceress" Major Arcana understood very well what Lumian was concerned about.

          Lumian continued to ask:

"Doesn't the 'Crimson Angel' have a way to grasp '0-01' without relying on mysticism similarity? If that person has no ulterior motives and isn’t afraid of 'Crimson Angel' revenge, why not focus on him directly instead of nurturing a weakling like me?"

Isn’t this a waste of time?

The "Sorceress" Major Arcana looked down at the field:

"I can also answer this. One reason is that the 'Crimson Angel' cannot approach the level of catastrophe forces like you. Unless he shifts from focusing on '0-01' to becoming a 'Crimson High Priest' and finding a way to replace the 'Original Sorceress,' the second reason is that the birth of a 'Crimson High Priest' is naturally accompanied by competition, confusion, and disaster. Many aspects of contention ensure the quickest appearance of the best 'Crimson High Priest.' If only the 'Crimson Angel' follows this path, it would not be smooth."

"Am I competing with him?" Lumian smirked and gave a self-deprecating smile, "Then I should thank him for giving me this opportunity."

As for abilities, there’s still a long way to go.

          The "Sorceress" Major Arcana continued:

"Many members of the Sorceress Sect indeed have 'Hunter' Path lovers, but they rarely turn these lovers into females during Path List 5 transitions. One reason is that very few Sorceress Sect members can grasp two 'Doomsday Sorceress' Extraordinary attributes. Another reason is that they seem to avoid such matters. As far as I know, among the 'Sorceress' at the Semi-God level, only one was previously a 'Hunter.'"

"Who?" Lumian became alert at the mention of the 'Hunter.'

The "Sorceress" Major Arcana smiled and said:

          "The Pure Sorceress 'Elena.'

"She is a Path List 3 'Immortal Sorceress.' Her mother is the leader of the Sorceress Sect, 'Gray Sorceress' Julie, and her father was a 'Hunter,' whose whereabouts later became unknown, suspected to have been killed by 'Gray Sorceress.'"

Lumian pondered for a moment and asked:

"Has the 'Gray Sorceress' ever been a 'Hunter'?

"Her twin sister Krismina was born a female, naturally a 'Sorceress.' Comparatively, could it be possible that she was born a male, naturally a 'Hunter,' and only later became a 'Sorceress' at Path List 4?"

"The 'Black Sorceress' only mentioned that the 'Gray Sorceress' was born at Path List 9 and did not mention that Path List 9 corresponds to 'Assassin.'"

"There’s a possibility, but it’s currently unprovable. The 'Gray Sorceress' is significantly older than all of us in the 'Tarot Club,' so our understanding of her is limited," the "Sorceress" Major Arcana said, showing a hint of a smile.

Really? I thought you were a fifth-period early-stage Angel, especially since your teacher is the fourth most powerful Angel King 'Door'... Lumian did not voice this thought about the female’s age.

He began to slowly advance again and said:

"The Sorceress Sect, or 'Original Sorceress,' does the pure hatred towards 'Sorceress' stem from internal distortion, or are there other mysticism reasons?"

Purely female 'Sorceresses' don’t seem to have the opportunity to come into contact with the highest level of catastrophe forces, so the threat to 'Original Sorceress' should be the smallest.

"Internal distortion is one reason, but my intuition tells me this isn’t the whole reason," the "Sorceress" Major Arcana said, looking towards the gradually brightening New Silver City, "The 'Holy Grail Seven' is about to advance to 'Suffering Sorceress.' You might be able to gather some intelligence on this from Krismina's remnants."

Lumian did not continue on this topic and brought the conversation back to his own transformation into a 'Doomsday Sorceress' and the changes in his powers.

This was something he had to do once his state was relatively stabilized:

"At the 'Doomsday Sorceress' stage, the 'Disease' becomes a 'Pestilence' that can cover a three-kilometer radius. Currently, I control three types of 'Pestilence.' The first is an evolution from the original 'Disease,' targeting common physical creatures, primarily infecting the heart, brain, lungs, and other organs. From the incubation period to the outbreak of the illness and then to worsening, it takes only a few seconds, and within a minute, it can make the target deteriorate towards death, with specifics varying depending on the enemy's level and physical differences.

"The second type of pestilence is 'Weakening,' originating from the 'Black Tears,' containing that type of mysticism bacteria. It can gradually make the target lose strength until even the heart is too weak to beat. Additionally, it erodes spiritual beings, meaning it can affect not only common creatures but also special beings and even the deceased, as long as there’s spiritual essence, the target will weaken gradually.

"The third type of pestilence is 'Rigid,' which causes the body to become stiff and dry over time, a type of mysticism pestilence.

"The 'Hunter' attributes combined with these pestilences have certain fire resistance, so they do not quickly perish in a state of fire burning. They can last for some time; among these, the 'Weakening' pestilence has the strongest fire resistance.

"To deal with these pestilences, 'Sorceress' black flames and freezing within a certain range are the best methods."

"I can also combine my own attributes with corresponding mystical knowledge, specific ideas, and experiments. This may require special materials and long-term efforts to create a unique plague type. This process is time-consuming and cannot yield quick results. However, regardless, 'Demoness' 'plague' can only target living entities. It cannot, like the 'Extinction Society' semi-gods, affect materials such as magma or metal to cause petrification, rusting, or decay.

"In the use of 'plague,' the 'Precision Hunter' can help me maintain two types of plagues simultaneously, but it consumes three to four times the mystical energy to maintain one type of plague.

"The 'Magician' lady lightly nodded, not interrupting Lumian as he continued:

"'Doomed Demoness' can achieve an equivalent level of infiltration in the mirror world and magical mirrors. I can locate mirrors within a five-kilometer radius and those that I have previously passed. I can pass through these mirrors freely and relay information back through the mirrors, arranging it as needed. This is much more convenient than sending a messenger. However, there is a possibility that the information may be blocked by creatures in the mirror world, requiring a bit of curse to avoid most of the trouble.

"I can also use the located mirrors to project my own image, making it appear as real. Currently, these projections have a distance limitation and cannot exceed a city.

"The 'Precision Hunter' also integrates with the 'Reflective Projection' ability, allowing me to complete three to five projections simultaneously. Each projection has some power and can accomplish certain tasks, but they cannot escape the scope of the corresponding mirror's reflection.

"During the battle with the 'Extinction Society' semi-god Higgdon, Lumian utilized the special mirror world power to create numerous 'Reflective Projections.' If Higgdon had ignored them, these illusions could have caused a certain level of damage! Other magical mirrors, such as 'Mirror Maze,' 'Mirror Doppelgänger,' and 'Divination Mirror,' also meet the standards of List 4. Among them, completing curses through the mirrors can result in normal forms as well as combined 'harvests,' which can erupt violently in a short time. Additionally, they can cause chaotic fate forces and complete curses related to fate." Lumian pondered and said, "Fate-related curses can place the target in a state of misfortune for a period afterward. This is not easily detected by them and is aimed at those who possess strong curse defense capabilities."

          Lumian paused and continued:

"Similar to other 'Doomed Demonesses,' if the enemy cannot complete the curse before I lock them down, and they use a doppelgänger to replace themselves, then even if they have 'Mirror Doppelgängers' or 'Paper Doppelgängers,' they cannot transfer or share the damage.

"Demoness' webs also undergo changes. They become more solid and resilient, allowing them to accomplish more tasks, including binding, ensnaring, disturbing, spreading delight, and various curses. Additionally, the 'Hunter' attributes make these webs sharper and capable of inflicting certain damage.

"My hair is a source of spider silk. If the enemy's body comes into contact with my hair, the corresponding part will show signs of petrification.

'Detection of Weaknesses' no longer has limits in finding weaknesses in the body, soul, and defenses, weak points that could lead to fatal fateful flows, and weaknesses in emotions and desires, leading to explosive points.

"Combining 'Harvest' with the 'Demoness' doppelgänger's 'full-strength strike' results in even more terrifying damage. For some physically weak semi-gods, a single strike from me can handle them." "Physically weak semi-gods often have many defensive mystical abilities, or they make it difficult for you to find their true form." Upon hearing this, the 'Magician' lady gave a reminder.

Lumian nodded, indicating he would remember:

"Additionally, it includes 'Invisibility' in dark magic, manipulation of frost energy, 'Mage Staff Doppelgänger,' and basic divination abilities. These are similar to the usual 'Doomed Demoness.'

'Incitement' and 'Provocation' combined, allows me to use language and accompanying mystical power to stimulate the target's emotions and desires, leading them to make predictions.

'Wander' and 'Harvest,' 'Precision' can also be combined.

          "That’s pretty much it."

The 'Magician' lady lightly stroked her chin and said:

"Transitioning through multiple paths indeed brings many strange and chaotic abilities. This cannot be achieved just by using sealed items."

Lumian responded with a "Yes" and asked:

"Should Franca continue to act as an internal agent for the Demoness Sect?"

That's all the chapters for today. I haven’t seen the epilogue to volume 5, I’ll add it below:

Volume 5: Summary and Request for Leave (Thanks to Abraham Notebook for Rewarding Bai Yin Ming)

Volume 5: Finally finished writing. For the entire book, this is an extremely important volume. It was expected to be about 100,000 words, but it had to be so. Otherwise, all the groundwork laid out before would be wasted. However, it's still not the responsibility of the work itself, so as previously stated, the publication of the sixth volume will be postponed. It won’t be available by the end of June or early July.

The title of the volume is "Demoness." First, this volume focuses on the "0 ----01" contention. Second, it deals with the disaster plan. Third, it encompasses the themes of pain, distortion, and despair, including emotional entanglements and ultimate declarations. Fourth, it portrays Lumian being forced into a recent stage of "Demoness" life.

Just like the mysterious line "Choosing a shortcut also chooses your friends and enemies," I now think it's very accurate. Choosing a shortcut also determines the corresponding writing style. Writing "Hunter" shortcuts, and writing "City of Calamity" this way, one certainly cannot use the "Divination Master" shortcut style to write in the "Origin Treasure" manner. On one hand, the degree of mystery will definitely be reduced, and on the other hand, the extraordinary characteristics of the laws will be gathered. "Hunter" and "Demoness" will definitely intersect, resulting in entanglements, and this will certainly complicate the relationship between men and women, leading to pain and distortion.

I could avoid this situation, but if I write something like "Hunter" and "Demoness," isn’t it essentially the same as the "Divination Master"?

Therefore, choosing the shortcut determines many things.

Similarly, "Hunter" will at least intersect with "Demoness" once, and "Demoness" will at least intersect with "Hunter" once. This is the initial setting made by the mysterious narrative or the original setup. Chirk’s state and why Chirk uses Tris’s power to destroy the cooperative relationship with the Ruen kingdom’s "Black Emperor" ritual are all unique to this world and the City of Calamity. Choosing this shortcut means the same choice will lead to a period of the demoness state.

Returning to the preface, it has multiple layers of meaning. First, Amon replacing Adam asks Lumian; second, Adam asks Bernadet, Tarot Club members, and those involved in the disaster plan.

Three and four calculations are outside the book: Three is asking readers if they accept this direction and development. Four is asking myself if I accept the conclusion of these volumes.

I know the overall book design. The first volume's many drafts are retrieved only in the fifth volume. The second volume focuses on psychological therapy, the fifth volume on despair and the "Demoness" emotional entanglements, and Lumian’s own transition to "Demoness." These may lead to a poor reading experience and may cause many to find faults and criticize me. Therefore, I’m asking myself if I accept this conclusion.

If this were written at an earlier time, or even earlier, my answer would likely be "The cloud veils the moon but not the eyes; seeking the way with a heart of iron." Now, with age and a more moderate attitude, I no longer see myself as superior or those opposing me as wrong. After thirteen years of writing, I’ve realized that everyone’s experiences are different, and so are their points of acceptance. There is no right or wrong, no higher or lower.

Therefore, my current answer is: "I can predict the opposition, I can imagine the criticism, but I still choose this writing style and this conclusion, whether good or bad."

Speaking of which, the phrase "The cloud veils the moon but not the eyes; seeking the way with a heart of iron" is from my first novel "The End of Fate." I initially wanted to write another similar novel, not in theme but in core essence. But now I increasingly feel that I might never write another "End of Fate" because what I wanted to express, my inner thoughts, are already fully written in "End of Fate." The past years have been more about practical experience and understanding, and I can no longer produce similar introspective works.

Returning to the fifth volume, I still want to say that the first volume was quite good. It had many hidden details and symbols, and this final volume achieves a response to those.

Now, let’s review the prologues of the previous four volumes:

Volume 1: "All gifts of fate have great risks" — Do you now understand its deepest meaning?

Volume 2: "Remember, you are dust and shall return to dust" — Do you now know who continues this sentiment?

Volume 3: "Everyone is both hunter and prey" — Has this been understood more deeply?

Volume 4: "Father of mercy, please be generous; I have committed a crime of betrayal" — This is a theme continued from this volume.

Looking at this, I still find it meaningful.

Even though Volume 2 was constantly criticized, it was a completely new writing style. I can now say that I managed to finish it. This volume’s script is based on Lumian’s psychological state — feeling good at times, restrained in pain, and releasing in bursts. The script’s changes and style suggest Lumian’s psychological state. The differences in the script for Lumian’s psychological issues compared to other scripts create different effects. The dark lines have always been Adam’s psychological therapy reports.

I’m very satisfied with the emotional entanglement in Volume 5, especially the parts where Jenna and Lumian interact for the first time. The surface dialogue, the deeper meaning, and the subtlety have a certain aesthetic. Unfortunately, as an online writer, not being explicit sometimes has significant issues. I often quickly skim through novels myself, so the writing sometimes ends up being a bit blunt, but it also suits Franca’s character.

Regarding some statements that affect character imagery, they are actually serious reflections and considerations. I don’t know if you have ever experienced communicating with family and friends when emotions are stirred, saying things you later regret, or instinctively exaggerating inner feelings. If you can stay rational and clear-headed in such situations, knowing what to say and what not to say, then it’s not "Demoness" or "Hunter."

In any case, I must say that I am personally satisfied with Volume 5. Of course, there are certain issues: first, insufficient foreshadowing, lacking a certain emotional buffer; second, issues with the depiction of weaker characters under grand scenes; third, managing numerous characters, sometimes leading to a feeling of inadequacy. This is the painful part of writing the next volume.

Specifically, ah. Since my daughter urged me to go out and have fun, I’ll stop here.

The next volume is "Dream Weaver." Everyone knows whose dream it is. I haven’t figured out the preface yet, as it’s not set up in the previous five volumes.

According to tradition, I’ll take a few days off for rest and revision — Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In other words, updates will resume on Monday.

Thanks to everyone, and thanks to Abraham Notebook for rewarding Bai Yin Ming. Also, thanks to those who can only be thanked in the next volume.

Finally, if a chapter is posted, it will definitely be asking for monthly votes.

Looking forward to a round of monthly votes in mid-month ~

The chapters are complete, I checked the last paragraphs, everything is correct, nothing was cut. I haven’t heard about a character limit, and if I’m not mistaken, in this case the text should be divided into two comments. Anyway, the chapters of the Shadow Slave are the same in length, and I uploaded them normally into the comments.
