Chapter 6638: It’s Been a Long Time

The crowd gathered in the square buzzed with excitement.

In truth, they had only been able to clear the Chu Clan Alliance’s final trial because of their histories.

Most had their loved ones murdered by the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion, but there was no way for them to redress their grievances until the Chu Clan Alliance appeared. Some had been oppressed by other powers and looked up to Chu Feng after hearing about his story.

However, two people felt delighted on top of excitement—Wang Yuxian and Mo Yuhan. They had witnessed the lower periods of Chu Feng's life and how difficult his journey had been.

In particular, Wang Yuxian had known Chu Feng for longer and knew more about his history. Even though he was now known throughout the world of cultivation, she remembered how many people had looked down on him back when he was weaker in the Nine Souls Galaxy, and that included her fellow seniors.

Chu Feng was talented, but he had to advance a step at a time.

Far weaker cultivators had towered in his path like mountains in the past, and some had even almost claimed his life.

What Wang Yuxian saw was not just the glory Chu Feng enjoyed. She also saw someone who had slaughtered his way to the top and yet still remembered his roots.

“Right. Let me introduce two friends to you,” Chu Feng told Bai Yunqing.

No one thought much about those words initially as Chu Feng knew far too many people. It was only when Chu Feng turned around and looked at Wang Yuxian that she realized that Chu Feng had noticed her.

And indeed, Chu Feng began making his way to Wang Yuxian, and the crowd opened a path for him.

“It has been a while,” Chu Feng smiled.

His eyes reflected the earnest joy of reuniting with an old friend. He didn’t mind the disparity in their strength and standing at all. With that, Wang Yuxian was certain that Chu Feng was still the same person as before.

“It has been a while,” Wang Yuxian replied with a smile, only to freeze up right after.

It turned out that Mo Yuhan had blurted out the same words at the same time.

The two ladies exchanged surprised looks, only to laugh right after. It was evident that the two of them were friends with Chu Feng.

“How did the two of you end up together?” Chu Feng asked.

That confirmed their guess.

“It might be fate,” Wang Yuxian replied with a smile.

Mo Yuhan smiled as well. It could have been because she had traveled alone for far too long, but reuniting with an old friend brought her some warmth.

After trading some pleasantries, Chu Feng brought the two of them to a more private location and called Little Fishy, Long Chengyu, Long Muxi, and the others over. He wanted to introduce Wang Yuxian and Mo Yuhan to them.

Fei insisted on tagging along, saying that they were around the same age even though he was much, much older. Chu Feng wasn’t bothered with such trivialities, so he brought Fei along.

Long Chengyu and the others treated Wang Yuxian and Mo Yuhan warmly upon learning that they were Chu Feng’s friends; they didn’t look down on the two ladies at all.

But Mo Yuhan couldn’t help but feel awkward when interacting with famed prodigies like Little Fishy and Long Chengyu. The difference in their standing was deep-rooted in their minds, making it difficult for them to break free right away.

In contrast, it was Wang Yuxian, despite her humbler birth, who adapted faster and befriended these formidable individuals.

This gathering among juniors only lasted four hours, but it was a joyous conversation.

Through their conversation, Chu Feng learned how Wang Yuxian and Mo Yuhan became acquainted and why they joined the Chu Clan Alliance. He also learned that Feng Ling was in closed-door training, and she should make a huge breakthrough afterward.

Li Wu and Bai Yunqing came to reinforce Chu Feng upon learning about his war against the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. They left a letter for Feng Ling to inform her to head over after emerging from her closed-door training.

But some things were inappropriate to mention in this kind of setting.

After the impromptu gathering ended, Li Wu and Bai Yunqing approached Chu Feng and told him that Wen Xue had tried to make a move on Li Wu.

The news made Chu Feng’s heart squeeze, but again, knowing Wen Xue, he was not that surprised.

“I should have been more mindful. I’m glad that you’re fine,” Chu Feng told Li Wu and Bai Yunqing in self-reproach.

“Don’t say that, big brother. If not for you, Miss Li Wu and I would have died in the Undying Starfield. Besides, Miss Wen Xue might not have harbored any bad intentions. She might have earnestly wanted to test my feelings for Miss Li Wu,” Bai Yunqing said.

That remark invited a glare from Li Wu.

Chu Feng knew that Bai Yunqing was only saying that to console him, as he was on good terms with Wen Xue.

“Based on my understanding of Wen Xue, she probably intended to make a move. I’m not sure what held her back, but when I see her again, I’ll make her apologize to you,” Chu Feng said.

“There’s no need for an apology. All is good as long as she doesn’t do that again. That scared the hell out of me,” Bai Yunqing said.

“All right, may I trouble you for something, Miss Li Wu? Can you hand this over to Mo Yuhan and make sure that she accepts it?” Chu Feng said as he passed a Cosmos Sack to Li Wu.

It was filled with resources and treasures.

“Sure.” Li Wu took the Cosmos Sack.

“Take this as well. It is God’s Era’s power. It will help with your cultivation.”

Chu Feng took out two portions of God’s Era’s power and handed them to Bai Yunqing and Li Wu. The latter two knew Chu Feng’s temperament; he wouldn’t take no for an answer, so they graciously accepted the gift.

After parting ways, Chu Feng didn’t return to the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect right away. Instead, he made his way to Wang Yuxian’s residence. They might all be friends, but that didn’t mean that they were all equal.

Wang Yuxian had braved death with him many times. They might have chatted a lot earlier, but some things had to be said in private.

For instance, Chu Feng didn’t hand the resources to them earlier in front of the others because he didn’t want them to feel burdened.

“What is a busy man like you doing here instead of resting?”

Wang Yuxian was surprised and delighted to see Chu Feng. He had to be extremely busy, but he still spent so much time to accompany them. She thought that it wouldn’t be as easy to meet him again in the future, but who could have thought that they would meet once more so soon?

Not to mention, Chu Feng was the one taking the initiative here.
