Chapter 479: Simulation ended! [END]

Jiang Yifeng was utterly bewildered by this series of maneuvers orchestrated by Fate.

However, there was no time to ponder further.

The Void Lord had already made the first move.

He was truly enraged.

He was far angrier than Jiang Yifeng.

He and those Demon Gods were far more miserable than Jiang Yifeng.

They were deceived even more cruelly.

While Jiang Yifeng was tricked, he gained strength and benefits.

Those from the void were tricked into giving away their power and lives.

How could he tolerate this?

Seeing the Void Lord already in action, Jiang Yifeng naturally dared not hesitate.

After all, the Void Lord wouldn't last long.

If he didn't take advantage of the moment when the opponent could still exert some strength to deal with Fate together, it would be even harder to face "Fate" alone if the Void Lord fell.

Of course, Jiang Yifeng was confident that the opponent would also find it difficult to kill him.

After all, he now shared the same realm as Fate!

Soon, a three-way battle unfolded.

The more they fought, the stranger Jiang Yifeng felt.

"Fate" was indeed resilient, but why were the opponent's attacks so feeble?

However, since the fight had begun, no matter how strange it was, Jiang Yifeng could only continue to attack relentlessly.

After a long time, the Void Lord was the first to fall.

He died from the aftereffects of forcibly obtaining Eternal realm power with an extreme single attribute.

However, after his death, he did not turn to ashes.

Instead, he transformed into a giant Void Beast.

A dead Void Beast.

And the power of the void that was originally within him also drifted back into the outside world with his death.

The boundless void reappeared.

Everything seemed unchanged, except for the absence of the Void Lord.

In the absence of the Void Lord, the battle between Jiang Yifeng and "Fate" continued.

At this moment, Jiang Yifeng held the upper hand.

After all, earlier, there were two people on his side, which had already given him an advantage.

Even though the Void Lord had fallen, the original advantage remained.

This battle raged from the Land of Primordial Beginning to the void, and even to the territory where Jiang Fushan and the others once were.

Fortunately, Jiang Yifeng managed to hold Fate back in time, preventing them from getting too close.

Otherwise, given the strength of those people, they would likely have perished in the aftermath of the battle.

As time passed day by day, Jiang Fushan and the others had all broken through to the Primordial realm, but Jiang Yifeng had not yet returned.

He was still battling Fate.

In the void, the tremors could be felt at all times.

Countless years later, "Fate" was sent flying, collapsing onto the void.

At this point, Fate was more dead than alive, his internal world thoroughly shattered.

Yet he was not dead.

Such is the Eternal realm, nearly impossible to kill.

And Jiang Yifeng was much the same.

At this moment, he staggered to Fate's side and whispered, "Why?"

Even now, Jiang Yifeng still didn't understand Fate's purpose.

He truly couldn't believe that Fate had orchestrated so much just for fun, even creating an Eternal realm version of himself and deliberately provoking enmity.

Hearing Jiang Yifeng's words, Fate pursed his lips and sneered, "Why?"

"You, all of you, are my playthings; I create as I wish, destroy as I please; is a reason necessary?"

Seeing Fate, on the brink of death, still speaking in such a manner, Jiang Yifeng felt a twinge of anger.

For a moment, he truly wondered if this guy had some sort of problem.

Had he lived too long?

Gone mad?

This was too absurd!

Could an Eternal realm expert become a lunatic?

Jiang Yifeng found it hard to believe.

Unfortunately, the opponent was impervious to reason.

He was helpless.

So, he couldn't be bothered to waste more words and attacked "Fate" once more.

The two resumed their battle.

Countless more years passed.

One day, "Fate" was sent flying again, his soul dissipating.

The Eternal body was finally shattered.

Sensing this, Fate suddenly burst into laughter.

"The simulation is finally over!"

He had waited too long for this day.

Had he known earlier, he wouldn't have comprehended that strange power of Fate.

It was even hard to commit suicide.

He had to create an enemy himself and pretend to fight, not daring to exert himself, fearing he might win; even then, he had been beaten for who knows how many billions of years before he was finally beaten to death!

How tragic.

As Fate's laughter faded, his body turned into specks of white light and completely vanished.

But his final words were deeply etched into Jiang Yifeng's mind.

Simulation? Simulation?

The opponent shouted that the simulation was finally over?

Could it be that the opponent was in a simulation, but practiced too hard and couldn't exit the simulation world?

So Fate created a simulator himself, to cultivate himself and have himself kill him.

This... was too absurd!

If that were the case, why didn't the opponent just commit suicide?

After pondering for a long time, Jiang Yifeng thought that perhaps this was another of Fate's tricks.

Setting aside the complicated thoughts, Jiang Yifeng began a long period of recuperation.

After recovering, he immediately sought out his family and friends.

After ensuring everyone was safe, Jiang Yifeng began resurrecting "Yu" and others who had helped him.

However, the resurrection did not take place in the outside world but within Jiang Yifeng's internal world.

Resurrecting those people in the outside world was basically impossible.

Unless Jiang Yifeng relinquished all his authority, causing his own strength to regress.

But even that wouldn't work; if his strength regressed too much, he wouldn't be able to resurrect people later on.

He could only resurrect a few at the beginning.

So, he chose to resurrect those people within himself.

In the blink of an eye, billions of years passed.

Jiang Yifeng successfully resurrected everyone.

After completing all this, he left alone.

No one knew where he went.

He seemed to vanish into thin air.

Billions of years later, Jiang Yifeng reappeared.

He took his family away.

No one knew where they went.

——

Blue Star.

In a certain high-end villa, a young man was teasing a black crow; suddenly, a Little White Tiger ran out from the side, continuously nuzzling the young man with its head.

And beside them, a girl holding a platter of peaches watched the scene with a face full of tenderness.

On the villa's rooftop, a middle-aged man was holding his beloved wife, seemingly boasting about something.

At that moment, a girl in red came rushing from outside the villa.

The beautiful woman held by the middle-aged man on the rooftop saw this and called out, "Xuan'er, stop, stop quickly; don't run into the door!"

"Bang!"

With a loud noise, the girl in red ran straight into the door.

Seeing this scene, the whole family burst into laughter.

And on this day, the beautiful woman set a rule: the girl named Xuan'er was not allowed near the door.

One day, Blue Star underwent a great change.

The boy's entire family disappeared.

When they reappeared, they were already in a place called Green Hills City.

I'm assuming that was Jaing Ruxuan at the end. Was that banging sound near the gate to the Origin Land caused by her original self all along then? But how are those interconnected?

This ending can hardly be considered conclusive. So was Jiang Yifeng always in a simulation all along? I'm also assuming Fate/Reincarnation is his future self. So is he now in a constant loop of cultivating his past self to replace his future self by killing himself? Did he actually go insane from boredom after living for countless eons? That's absurd; and the author seems to agree. Unless that's his perspective on omnipotence and eternal life.

If my speculations are true, then this is indeed a lackluster ending. It does feel like the author more or less gave up on the story and wanted to wrap things up halfway. A genuine confrontation between Reincarnation and Fate would've been infinitely more interesting and compelling. Those two concepts appear to be natural opposites/enemies. One is all about absolute control and the other is what allows for endless possibilities; an unstoppable force meets an immovable object sort of paradox. I have no idea at the moment how you'd resolve such a climactic showdown, but I'm not the author. All I know is that it'd have been at least more satisfying than what we got. This ending just leaves me feeling empty and unfulfilled.
