    . What more would he not want than to be able to reach them now? What more would he want than to make sure they were really okay? Bai Zemin was aware that his family might as well be dead or starving while they were hiding in some corner.

    Among all my gripes with the story this is what makes zero sense to me. Why is this guy staying and playing king instead of searching for his family. I get that he may require man power to search for his family as he doesn't know where they could be. But he didn't even make a preliminary effort to search in the surroundings of his house or the situation over there.

    Also what makes him think that his people are going to help search for him? They are not even willing to work to get better food, he thinks they will ignore their safety and search for MC's parents?

    Google seems to say the T-85 has a much larger, more powerful round. Almost twice the muzzle energy. Perhaps less penetration in some situations and less effective range. The T-88 is lighter and significantly shorter.

    With his current powers and speed i dont see how he cant just go check on his family and bring them back to the city.

    To me the only explanation is that the author is trying to needlessly draw out the story. Watch as he comes up with some bullshit reason even though we have seen that Bai Zemin is capable of dealing with everything on his own, or at the very least run away.

      i kinda agree with you, without rest he can run half a country in what? a couple days if even, he cant bring his family with that speed back but he can start a new group, every person he encounters is at the cusp to being starved to dead idk what is diferent about his sister (probably the only survivor).

        On the map Yanqing District - Rulin Subdistrict (where the university is) to Changping District - Yangfang (where his family is) is only like 47km. Even if they are clearing the road, it shouldn't take long.

        I think he said they went 200km out of their way to visit the military base.

        On a side note, the map seems to say there's a Tank Museum along the way.

      Yep. It’s not like the monsters away from him grow at a faster rate. If he just rushed at the start of the apocalypse, killing and scavenging on his own, he probably would have advanced just as quickly.

        Dont you think that would ruin the story? The author intends to make him a leader, how can you be a leader if you are alone the whole time. And anyways if he didnt go through all of this he would have already been dead multiple times.

          There was already a chapter talking about this. Bai and Lilith argue that even if he becomes more powerful it's no use, it's still necessary to create a strong group. After all, even though he's strong, he can't be everywhere to protect his family, even though he's strong, he couldn't fight everyone and protect his family at the same time.

            obviously but tell me that doesnt feel that the author puting the patch before the wound to make arbitrary sense of why he should stay with the recurrent characters, because of reader atachment and because the MC alone would carry down the quality, but it doesnt make god damn sense, you cant protect your family if you dont have any family left, obviously his sister is alive no matter how slow he will be but it takes away inmersion in the history and the suposedly priority of the MC

      you're looking at it from the angle of "he's the mc, he can't die, he'll only get stronger."
      if you were looking at it realistically, you'd know him rushing all the way there with no real backup plan enacted would only spell doom.

      because in such a case, even if he does somehow manage to reach them in one piece.. will he search the entire district on his own?
      say he does happen to magically find them and they're alive.. what next? the novel dies.
      say he gets there and they're all dead.. what next?
      and time and time again, you lot forget the fact that bai feels he owes a lot to lilith, and his wish to repay her is probably just about as strong as his wish to find his family - at this point.
