Evil Samurai In Cultivation World by Zerosky

The first 50-60 chapters were promising, even good, despite a lackluster cultivation system. But then the author lost focus; the MC replaced in the spotlight by world building (how there's a big war coming on and the struggles between monarchists and reformists inside the country basically).
Now that's not necessarily a problem for a novel with, say, 500+ chaps, but for a dropped one with 173 it's simply not worth time. I just wanted to see the MC scheming and plotting and getting stronger, doing evil shit as advertised.
This is just a warning, feel free to power through or skip chapters of you want to keep at it, those options just aren't for me, especially the skipping

A story with one of the best combat demonstrations and different strategies - a cruel but cunning mc that quickly adapts to the changes by for their survival - demonstrates the cruelty and falsehood of the world and humans through the struggle of interests - the other characters are relatively developed and the world is currently being developed - worth reading.

Below you will see people talking about "honoring the samurai code", but the author makes it clear between the lines that the MC is probably from the Sengoku period.
Where there were samurai who didn't care about code and honor but only about killing and having money, without pride and stuff like that

so the MC is really evil? I dont mind a ruthless bloodseeking MC but that is only towards his enemies... so how evil is the MC here? killing babies and innocents? and also? no Lord but Samurai? is the author Japanese? does he really know what is it mean to be a "Samurai" is?

to be a samurai you have to serve a lord otherwise it would be a ronin

If a samurai doesn’t have pride and honor than he isn’t a samurai. Having pride and honor is one of the samurai ways. Since this made by a Chinese person and Chinese people are ignorant of Japanese culture, I can’t really judge the author. China usually feed information to their citizens about how bad Japanese people are because of WW2 and how much Chinese people Japanese soldiers killed but there Chinese people who slaughtered many more Chinese than the Japanese.

Just your average cultivation novel, nothing new and filled with cliche's, perhaps the MC is a tad more ruthless but that's all

I havent read the novel yet but the term "God has granted me a second chance, which means he approves of my actions!" is hilarious to me I love it
