It’s the 3rd of March of the Immortal Martial era. Under the Sect Leader’s unremitting efforts, the Qingyun Dao Sect finally welcomes its eighth disciple, Ye Ping.

In order to make Ye Ping stay and to earn his respect, everyone in the sect resorts to all sorts of tricks to deceive him.

They boast and pretend to be peerless Sword Dao experts, geniuses in cultivation, alchemy, refinement, divination, alchemy arrays, treasure appraising, and sons of destiny.

For the sake of maintaining the image of geniuses, they teach Ye Ping all sorts of nonsensical things.

They make Ye Ping try to gain an epiphany out of a random sword mark.

They take out a random big pot and make Ye Ping refine supreme-grade pills with it.

They take out a random copper coin and make Ye Ping deduce the ultimate heavenly secret.

They initially hope to just delay the time that Ye Ping discovers the truth so that he would stay in the sect for a while longer.

However, to their surprise, their new little Junior Brother… manages to learn everything. Collapse

I liked this one. It was quite immersive, and the humor was great too.

A kid gets admitted to a failing sect with only a handful of disciples. The sect is broke, falling down, ect. So they needed another disciple to make up the numbers or their sect closes.

Now this kid was a total freak, able to learn the dao of anything taught. All the disciples pretend to be hidden experts, and the kid believes them and surpasses their understandings. Misunderstandings and funny moments.

It ends up with a decent plot, and the book is short - not overstaying its welcome and ruining it. An easy read for a day or 2.

I mean story is ok. But it literally turns into Su Changyu's story. Especially at the end, making the ending really crap. It could be good, but unfortunately there's just too much other pov's that don't really accomplish much making the story slow and boring.
It's still worth a read, but just don't expect too much and expect to get annoyed at the end.

Exactly. Here the senior brother seems to be misunderstood to be an expert on another level compared to the mc to other people. I didn’t read too far in the end but it seemed that way even later on. And on top of that I hate it when the mc is this clueless. Maybe because we are looking on from the outside it’s obvious to us. I like it more when the mc is the one tricking other clueless people, for example in History’s number 1 founder where the mc tricked his genius disciples in the beginning. Anyways did the mc ever find out the truth here?

I have a bit of opinion how to rename this novel:" I comprehend Dao through bullshit of other people".
Really, i can't contend excitement that MC brought to me. He reads some kind of fake secret manual and *boom* in his mind emerges super-ultra technique of some sort of celestial being and also he discovers very secrets of universe.
PS: Author really eat some kind of alchemical poop and in afterglow writes this incredible story.

the story progression is just too slow. barely anything happened in 100 chapters. the premise is pretty cool and it works, and the amount of bu**sh*t that the author can come up with is really impressive.

I like this kind of bullshitting MC HAHA

It's pretty entertaining at the start but once you get later in the story, it gets really bad really quick.

Actually, I recommend reading it because even though what he says is true, the rest of the story is really fun and when it starts getting bad it ends in about 30 chapters so if you think his senior brother is too OP, drop it there and skip the ending

Yeah, I think the author didn't wanna write anymore or was forced to finish it because the ending comes waaay too quickly
