        i am reading this just because cuttlefish wrote this....but tbh this is the first novel which is so hard to grasp....even after this many chapters i don't know what this story is about is it like LOTM or sci-fi...this story is so confusing at this point

          It's pretty simple : The novel starts with a new lifestyle in a new era in the "Company" due to the end of an era in "ashlands", the company is sorte of large building underground with 600+ floors with primary needs department and functional system based on hierarchy (D and M). The mc is one of the people living there and we learnt that after his mother's death he was volunteer for a strange experiment which was supposed to make him "stronger" but nothing happened (after what happened in his room I'm sure something definitely happened). Now in this episode we learnt about the existence of gods or kalendarium who represent a month (arbitrer of fate represents December) from this cult "life ritual", even if there's no proof tho the existence of those gods, after what happened with mc we should be suspicious

    "Short but deep, sometimes high, sometimes low means hunger; intense crying means anger; suddenly being loud and shrill before a long pause that turns into a gentle, mournful whimper means pain…

    "We should gently pat the baby's back and let them expel the air in their stomach… We should hold the back of a baby's head when we carry them… We should breastfeed…"

    Life is lofty and sacred, but it will ultimately pass away. The world is no exception, just like how a year will eventually come to an end and prepare to start a new year.

    Only the Arbiter of Fate's devotees who [..] can enter the New World and escape the cycle of time, obtaining eternal life with no more suffering.

    This is seems like a contradiction. Also, since life will inevitably end, it would make sense for Eon gods to also die. The lore of this world seems very interesting...
