    Okay, look. The only thing even remotely in this novel's favour is the beasts. They're cool. They may have cloned personalities, but they're still fun. Tianming's background is mildly interesting, but the only thing it enables is underdog porn. In every single realm. And of course his clan needs to be extinguished. This clan branch in realm #1 is weak and everybody wants to kill us oh no, oh no realm #2 does not have my clan, let me join sect, f#ck they all want to destroy my sect - lemme just beat em up and go to realm #3 and ... you get it. This is just classic xianxia escalation. Read at your own peril.

    This is some top tier trash. It's so bad it circles right past good and into bad again. Every single cliche you can think of exists in this novel, and they're somehow even worse than usual. The mc is suffering from severe Chuunibyou Syndrome so we get lines like "Li Tianming could feel blood rushing to his head." or "Mu Wan gently stroked his head and back, calming the beast within him". Now, sometimes in cultivation novels mcs have literal beasts or second personalities inside them, which is fine, but in this case the "beast" is just him being angry.

    So basically, only read this if you're craving some garbage (like I am), otherwise leave now.

    Edit: Nevermind. After reading some more, this actually has a pretty decent decent plot under all the cringy BS. I'd honestly rate it a solid 2.5/5.

    You have to turn your brain off with this, or make sure you're operating at around 25% capacity while reading. LOTS of plot armor, arrogance on the verge of stupidity and only plot armor saves the MC. Nonsensical power ups. Unnatural dialogue. Unbelievable characters. Just, lots of brain cells need to die. If you can manage that, then this is A CHOICE. Yes, even after all of that, this story only becomes a choice for when you got nothing to read.

        You might enjoy Gate of God, it's pretty decent and funny, definitely a cut above the rest but the downside is that since the MC has personality, you might not like his personality or the choices he makes which makes sense to his character.

        Pet King is top tier slice of life if you're interested in those.

        God-tier Farm is wish fulfillment slice of life, modern day magical realism. It's okay, too wish-fulfill-y to me but if you enjoy SoL then you might want to check it out.

        Is that a wisp, decent enough xianxia with an MC that's not bloodthirsty.

        Tree of aeons, decent kingdom building, but you must understand going in that the MC is a tree, so it makes sense that it doesn't act (or think) like humans as the story goes on.

        The rise of the black plain is also a pretty good kingdom building/xianxia story, high tier if you ask me.

        The great mage returns after 4000 years is a decent enough action fantasy but god f#cking christ the translator is cumming all over the page (you'll understand if you read) the work itself is pretty good and so is the translation, but the translator is quite narcissistic.

        those are decent enough titles that I've read recently.

        tbh you could try to go to Royal Road and get some of the bests there, Supreme Magus and Shadow Slave are also good reads, although SS second book is just a grind at some parts
