      There are 5 weeks in a month. 6 days times 5 = 30 so 30 days a month. Honestly 6 day weeks makes more sense than 7 day weeks. Since it is based on the cycles of the moon which takes about 29.5 days per cycle.

      Some dude in the past decided to round it down to 28 days and break it into 4 parts (4 weeks of 7 days each). And fix the missing bit with leap days to stay in sync. Though it would have been more accurate to round it up to 30 and split it up in 5 x 6 day weeks. Having only a difference of 0.5 per cycle instead of 1.5 means you would need less leap days to stay in sync.
